For me
1st Easy 2nd Middle 3rd Easy 4th Hard 5th Easy 6th middle 7th hard 8th Easy Honestly the hard ones is because I wasn't training only catching so I fell behind on levels. --------------------        |

Whitney is the only gym leader clear in my memory, she posed quite a challenge for me more than once.
Her rollout was a pain in the ass, took me several tries in Silver and even quite a few in one of my many Crystal files. In Silver I remember finally being able to take her out by starting with a Ditto against Miltank. Miltank fainted it but it had done enough damge for my Croconaw to able to finish it off. I've seem complaints around forums of her using Milk Drink, but she never did against me in any of my second generation versions. Didn't even realize it had that move until I saw the complaints. So imagine my total and utter shock at how far easier she was in Soul Silver! At least against me, she never once used Rollout, just attract at the beginning and then it was stomp she spammed.
