What's the longest (time) hunt you've ever completed, or is underway?
I've had some trouble with being active on the site, so I've had at least 2 years of inactivity within the last 2.5 years, and I have awful shiny luck, so my longest hunt is still underway. I have a Gastly hunt that I started on the 2nd of October, 2010! Hahahaha! I have two hunts from 2011 and two from 2012, also!
http://gpxpl.us/bGUav
Shiny race with PkmHunter, took about 18 months and 441 eggs.
Species: Crystal Onix Eggs Hatched: 237 Date Started: Dec 21/12
............ Does not want to end
Species: Easter Buneary
Eggs Hatched: 411
Date Started: Aug 19/13
This hunt's currently the oldest one in my recorder. I stopped breeding for SWSHs because of that.
Currently, this hunt is the longest:
http://gpxpl.us/GcKXa
This Pokémon was egg #1453 in Walking On Sunshine j's 159-
day shiny hunt started on November 25th, 2011.
http://gpxpl.us/AJsOh
This Pokémon was egg #319 in Stardrop 's 980-day shiny hunt started on January 9th, 2011.
Also because of inactivity. XD
Species: Grimer
Eggs Hatched: 1,693
Date Started: Mar 10/12
Still going :|
Species: Flaming Zorua Eggs Hatched: 253 Date Started: Feb 10/12
Still on it unfortunately x.x
My longest past hunts have been Sandile (1,339 eggs) and Scraggy (1,332 eggs)
My longest current hunt is Trubbish (729 eggs)
As for days...
My Hoppip hunt went from Apr 9/12 - Jan 20/13 (1,144 eggs) and Sentret from Feb 1/11 - Jan 4/12 (1,149 eggs).
Yeah, I really don't have much shiny luck :|
My eggs average is 333 (though it feels more like 500 at times), and my time average is around the 8 month mark.
But dams, some of these hunts...
The largest amount of eggs was the Porygon shiny hunt at 779 eggs.
I was inactive on the site until recently so my Shinx hunt stands at 251 eggs hatched and date started Feb 25/13
My egg hatch ratio used to be really high but it got pulled down a lot by my 10 egg Houndour hunt |D
Time-wise, my longest hunt so far has been Weedle, which took me 129 days to complete (1319 eggs).
Egg-wise, my longest hunt has been Beldum, which took me 1813 eggs to complete (in 100 days).
My longest currently ongoing hunt is Volbeat, which started October 26th and is currently at 1161 eggs.
Time wise I could probably say that my longest hunt was Crystal Onix, which I started before you could shiny hunt novelties with the shine recorder and I also took a considerably long break from breeding them. The fact that they are novelties means that the time it takes to hatch eggs will be longer, which is one of the reasons why comparing that hunt to regular pokemon seems like comparing apples to oranges. But anyway, the hunt can pretty much be summed up by the daycare offspring.
My longest hunt eggs wise was Feebas, 2317 eggs.... A tiny bit frustrating at the end, I'll say. A year and a half, roughly.
And time wise, I guess it's that :
Species: Zergoose (Feral)
Eggs Hatched: 232
Date Started: May 14/12
Yup, he doesn't want to come xD
Time wise, my longest hunt was Pudgy Pidgey (278 days, 27 eggs), longest non-novelty was Ducklett (262 days, 656 eggs).
The most eggs was Litwick (34 days, 1050 eggs).
My longest currently active hunts are Feral Zergoose (Eggs Hatched: 108, Date Started: Jan 7/13) and Chinchou (Eggs Hatched: 1,002, Date Started: Jun 25/13).
Species: Latios, Eggs Hatched: 14, Date Started: Nov 26/11
/RIPS OUT HAIR
(the worst part is that this is only the RECORDED time, I've been hunting sans recorder for much longer than this)
And yeah I know that's not a lot of eggs but I have basically no time to earn the prize points to keep buying soul dews.
My longest:
http://gpxpl.us/uMlVg
This Pokémon was egg #1504 in Samoo's 242-day shiny hunt started on May 22nd, 2011.
Species: Porygon Eggs Hatched: 1,504 Date Started: May 22/11 Date Ended: Jan 18/12
Most time and eggs atm lol. Thankfully nothing else has gone over 1k..
My longest completed hunt egg wise was Pichu with 1,421 and almost 10 months hunting. I think my longest time wise was Icy Horsea with 15 months
My current longest egg one is Magnemite at 281 eggs, though till this morning it was Houndour at 563, and time wise is Remorage which was started in April 13.
I started this hunt on July 5th, 2011 and finally hatched the shiny on January 29, 2014.
"This Pokémon was egg #268 in Bonnie Clyde 's 929-day shiny race against Snivy21 started on July 5th, 2011."
One shiny hunt that's still going is one that I had started only a few days before the Happiny one:
Species: Vulpix
Date Started: Jul 1/11
Eh I got a shiny Flaming Zoura hunt still going on from November 2011... I just havent gotten around to it and I dont want to cancel it XD
Still doing my shiny Summer Swinub hunt T_T
Shine Recorder says I've been doing it since 8th November 2011, but it was more like since Summer Swinub was first released... (because I added it to the Shine Recorder when that account upgrade was available).
363 eggs hatched so far, and no luck. Of course, it's hard to shiny hunt when your Daycare Pokés don't want to make the novelty, lmao. Good job we have that Pass Power now...
Time wise, It's a tie between two Site wide Shiny hunts, Litwick and Eevee
Egg Wise Houndour... 311 eggs...
I just finished a Shiny hunt for Valentacool started November 6th of 2011 after 735 eggs. Easily my longest hunt for time, and although not my longest for eggs, it's certainly up there.
Egg wise it's my Chikorita. (1644 eggs)
Longest hunt that's been completed (as of today): This Pokémon was egg #208 in Fate 's 626-day site-wide shiny hunt started on May 11th, 2012. - shiny trapinch
Still going: Species: Vulpix
Eggs Hatched: 147 (and counting)
Date Started: Oct 5/10
Reasons: 1. inactivity.
Also for my shiny vulpix hunt I want a lab born shiny (picky yes but thats my goal)
Time-wise: my koffing hunt, started it on the 2nd of July 2012 and ended it on the 6th of december 2013.
Egg-wise: My Omanyte hunt, hatched 1023 eggs before I got a shiny.
Most eggs: Houndour at 521 eggs hatched.
Longest Time: Charmander ..started in like 2010 or 2011 and never bothered actually hatching many eggs or canceling it lol
Species: Cubone
Eggs Hatched: 749
Date Started: Jul 4/13
Date Ended: Feb 14/14
but only because I took a break from this game...
ongoing is
Species: Tyrogue
Eggs Hatched: 547
Date Started: Apr 28/13
SWSH Houndour at 796 eggs, Solosis at 1 and a half years (I got lazy).
Species: Houndour Eggs Hatched: 461 Date Started: Jan 17/14 Date Ended: Jan 27/14
I thought I'd get at least one of the achievements for the long hunts.
Longest time-wise was Riolu; started in November, forgot to do the "Continue my hunt after the SWSH ends" thing so I started another hunt. Ended Jan 14th.
Longest egg-wise that was completed is Houndour with 339 eggs; longest incomplete was Bulbasaur, with 461 eggs. He just doesn't want to hatch. :/
1256-Day long hunt, completed! Took 629 eggs!
By eggs:
Blitzle - Eggs Hatched: 1,857; Date Started: Sep 28/13
... and by time:
Winter Vulpix - Eggs Hatched: 736; Date Started: Nov 7/11
Yes, both are ongoing. My Winter Vulpix pair has 35,517 children. This is my longest completed hunt:
http://gpxpl.us/oWesm
Species: Vulpix Eggs Hatched: 403 Date Started: Dec 29/10 Date Ended: Feb 19/14
double post sorry
Species: Valentacool
Eggs Hatched: 213
Date Started: Apr 27/12
It is also ongoing hunt.
Time wise, Dratini and Zergoose which were started in January of 2012, and are still going. 227 Dratini eggs.
Egg wise, Barboach is killing me. 592 eggs and counting. I guess it's making up for the fact I got Yanma in 45 eggs.
http://gpxpl.us/FvBFm
Most eggs hatched AND Longest hunt ... yet!! Lucky it has good IV's.
This Pokémon was egg #1056 in xrachelmareex 's 474-day site-wide shiny hunt started on November 15th, 2011.
None of the individual hunts took over 1000 eggs, but it took me 2118 Spinarak eggs to hatch a shiny female. I got four males before I got my girl.
2 years to get a shiny female Glameow.
I've been inactive though.
Currently hunting for a shiny Easter Buneary since Christmas '12
967 eggs. WHY BARBOACH. WHY!?!?
Ive also been on and off on this site, so most of my shiny hunts are ca 2 years long. Hahah
The longest one have to be Mudkip. June 6th 2010 to September 2nd 2012. Just like... Woooow
Just completed Totodile, which was 733 eggs. Bulbasaur is 959 eggs.
Species: Ekans Eggs Hatched: 985 Date Started: Jun 6/13
Cancel
Species: Dracowymsy [Regular] User: PokemonEnforcer (hatched 0 eggs) Goal: Fewest eggs hatched
--
I haven't had a hunt go over 1k, apart from Porygon. I can Ekans going over 1k AND possibly even higher than Porygon of 1504.. >_>
Eggs hatched: Shiny Mareep, 1,588 eggs. I didn't think I was EVER going to get one.
Actual TIME: Petilil. Started on February 8, 2013. STILL ONGOING. Granted, I've spent some time away on hiatus, but still, it's my longest hunt time-wise even if I take the hiatus time out of the equation.
Eggs hatched: 779 with Magikarp. Only took a week, though.
Time taken: 497 days with Growlithe.
In numbers of eggs my longest shiny hunt so far is Charmander, took 525 eggs
New longest hunt:
http://gpxpl.us/lRnhf
This Pokémon was egg #1816 in Nyara's 496-day shiny hunt started on December 26th, 2012.
My previous record was a 1,680 egg Mareep hunt.
Number of eggs wise, it'd be my Snivy hunt at 626 eggs. As for number of days spent, my still-ongoing Seviper hunt, started waaaay back on 5/2/11. That's 3 years and 10 days.
Loving these statistics! I like to keep a record in my profile of proving longest shiny hunts so I'm going to keep an eye on this thread for updates and changes. *blush*
As for my personal best... I mean worse...
Eggs: http://gpxpl.us/qeXJv
Days: http://gpxpl.us/aOavQ
"Species: Rufflet Eggs Hatched: 1,739 Date Started: Jul 11/12 Date Cancelled: Aug 2/12"
Rufflet is my favorite Pokemon but I just couldn't take it anymore, I had to quit...I regret it though because now I don't have the Achievement. (Persistent is it?)
My longest ever still remains at 1392 with Alomomola.
Right now my longest is 825 with Stantler.
Nightmare. Haha
July 22/2011 because of the Cherubi and not knowing how to do things I dropped off of GPXPlus.
Came back and I am determined to finish it come water or handbaskets. 128 hatched so far~!
Today I finished my first shiny recorder hunt (had a random one before this), and Chespin took 565 eggs I'm hoping that the next few will be a bit quicker!
http://gpxpl.us/DpjwR
This Pokémon was egg #354 in Bonnie Clyde 's 1185-day shiny hunt started on July 1st, 2011.
Also the longest completed hunt egg-wise. Though I have a Bagon hunt still going with 626 eggs hatched currently.
http://gpxpl.us/nzqAR
This Pokémon was egg #878 in Kamizard 's 195-day shiny hunt started on March 12th, 2014.
My longest ongoing hunt right now is Dratini at 685.
Longest ongoing:
Species: Solrock Eggs Hatched: 974 Date Started: Jan 30/13
Longest complete is Tropius at 864 eggs, followed closely by Mareep at 862 eggs.
Those are all in terms of eggs hatched. Time is a little weirder since I've taken two major hiatuses since I joined the site so =_=
Longest complete (time-wise) was Gulpin which took me 69 days to complete.
Longest complete (egg-wise) was Fennekin from September's Shiny Site Wide Hunt with 757 eggs.
Longest ongoing (time-wise) is Girafarig which I started on November 8th 2014.
Longest ongoing (egg-wise) is Espurr with 287 eggs and counting from November's Shiny Site Wide Hunt
http://gpxpl.us/lRnhf
496 days, and 1816 eggs. Though my ongoing Clone-mander hunt has exceeded it time-wise.
Time-wise would be me Sneasel (now completed and a Weavile), although I did leave for a long time.
Eggs would be Cyndaquil at 656
These aren't long-runners egg-wise, but I've had two runs going for about two years, now.
Current hunts
Eggs: Pumpkaboo at 533 (followed by Blitzle at 473, and they are both SWSH )
Time: Valentacool at 2 and a half years
Past hunts
Eggs: Charmander at 525
Time: Swinub at 2 years and 1 month
Timewise: Spearow, August 30th 2013 to present.
Eggs: Bulbasaur, 1,265 eggs.
In terms of actual time, it would be Mienfoo, which had 776 days, since I went on hiatus for a long time. Number of eggs-wise, it would be Phanpy, at 1085 eggs. @_@
I'm still on my doduo from March 2014. I had older ones but I cancelled them because I got bored of hatching shinx over and over for like a year! Ugh. Though I haven't actually hatched that many eggs for doduo because I actually forgot I was doing it for a few months. xD
Time: Dratini, 784 days (933 eggs)
Eggs: Snivy, 1,108 eggs (384 days)
Timewise: Easily Autumn Tropius. Still ongoing, 637 eggs so far, evades me since October '12... (not counting the Legendary-hunts...)
Eggs: http://gpxpl.us/daHqK Tirtouga. 2,074 eggs, 2,033 in Shine Recorder. =_=
I'm still on my longest hunt-
Species: Trapinch
Eggs Hatched: 1,375
Date Started: Jul 22/12
Granted, I was away for two years of that, but still. I'm going to unlock Persistent at this rate.
Angel
—Sh. Zorua
This Pokémon was egg #1232 in Teen Heat's 788-day shiny race against chubby choco started on February 5th, 2013.
...plus a bunch of (counted: actually, only 3) others in the thousands range.
plus an uncompleted Litwick hunt from the sitewide race all those years ago. 991 eggs, before we could choose to continue as a regular hunt, and I hatched a Litwick on the 7th egg when I restarted it literally the day after the sitewide race had ended.
For my completed hunts...
http://gpxpl.us/pAVXI This guy. 883 days (Oct 23, 2012 - Mar 24, 2015), 876 eggs.
Ongoing...
Cacnea. Started June 12, 2013, currently at 803 eggs.
My longest hunt was Pumpkaboo with exactly 1,500 eggs. My current longest hunt is Skrelp, and it's at 1,163 eggs.
http://gpxpl.us/CDMVf
This Pokémon was egg #1412 in Daneh 's 1005-day shiny hunt started on August 21st, 2011.
...yup.
I'm always going on hiatus, so it's common for all of my hunts to go on for ridiculous amounts of time. My longest are the Ponyta and Shuppet hunts: both were started on Dec. 9, 2012; the Ponyta one finally ended on July 21, 2014; and the Shuppet one ended on Sept. 8, 2014. So, yeah, nearly two years. It's even sadder when you realized that the combined amount of eggs hatched still doesn't come close to the one with the most hatched (Shellder took 1,395 eggs and less time to complete).
http://gpxpl.us/GhGtf
"This Pokémon was egg #614 in WaterUser's 1798-day shiny hunt started on May 28th, 2010."
First shiny hunt, on the day the recorder came out. Do I win?
Species: Vanillite Eggs Hatched: 450 Date Started: Oct 15/12 582
Two. Years.
Who knew it was so hard to find grape ice cream?
1280 eggs with Ralts.
And my Nidoran F hunt is at 1023 ath the moment.
Buneary. 400+ Eggs, counting all the times I've quit. Still no shiny. :c SOMEDAY
Timewise my longest (and still on going) hunt is Charmander Clone. I started it on November 24/11.
As for the number of eggs, my shiny Squirtle hunt was the longest with 688 eggs hatched!
Skrelp is officially the winner now. 1,783 eggs.
http://gpxpl.us/AgFkI
This Pokémon was egg #250 in Haxorus 's 1512-day shiny hunt started on March 8th, 2011.
Because I started the hunt, then soon after went inactive and stuff due to school. xD
http://gpxpl.us/oRmGK
This Pokémon was egg #1225 in Mizael's 798-day shiny hunt started on May 29th, 2010.
Thanks for the achievements, I guess.
Completed : http://gpxpl.us/VDEgm
This Pokémon was egg #1128 in mizutani 's 967-day shiny hunt started on May 28th, 2010.
took way too long for my liking
Ongoing: Still looking for a shiny fenniken from when the Sept 2014 SWSH happened
Currently at 744 for Joltik, still on going. Started on March 15th, so exactly two months today. xD
I think time-wise my longest hunt is the Eevee hunt I'm still trying to finish, which has been going on for 800-something days now.
But the most eggs I've hatched in one hunt was 2524, for this guy: http://gpxpl.us/oEndx
That's one record I hope I never get the privilege of beating...
http://gpxpl.us/gWSCI
This Pokémon was egg #1160 in Wastelander 's 546-day site-wide shiny hunt started on November 15th, 2013.
The one hunt that will forever haunt me...I'm not even too fond of Milotic, but it was leftover from that SOTM hunt from a few years back, and I had hoped to get the hunt lasting over a thousand eggs out of it.
Still trying to finish the SWSH for Roggenrola. One day. One day...
My highest in terms of eggs was a Houndour at 714. I know it's not a lot, but maybe I should be grateful for that.
In the terms of most eggs hatched. There is this little Seadra..
http://gpxpl.us/QxgtR
This Pokémon was egg #1512 in AppleSpider 's 218-day shiny hunt started on February 2nd, 2014.
I'm glad that I managed to finish it. When I did, I thought that I was hallucinating.
The longest in terms of days, however...
http://gpxpl.us/xcJrQ
This Pokémon was egg #510 in AppleSpider 's 865-day shiny hunt started on February 2nd, 2011.
I did not enjoy that 2-year hunt.
Well, I'm not quite at record breaking levels, but I've just passed the 1700 mark for Chespin, and still no shiny in sight. In terms of days, I wouldn't know exactly. Very few of my hunts have gone past 500 days, although I (unofficially) hunted shiny Omanyte for over three years. The GPX deleted my old hunt for it because I went inactive.
I've also got a Ditto hunt that's been going since October 2012, but that doesn't really count, does it? Bcus Ditto?
Tympole at 1,512 eggs
Wailmer at 1,410 eggs
Patrat at 1,085 eggs
Time-wise probably my Dracowymsy hunt: "This Pokémon was egg #861 in Targaryen 's 765-day shiny race against Stargaze started on January 12th, 2013."
Second longest was Sh. Clone Bulbasaur "This Pokémon was egg #291 in Targaryen 's 587-day shiny hunt started on January 7th, 2013."
Honestly novelty hunts are the worst. I'm only doing them for the achievement :/
oh and my current most eggs hunt is Staryu at 468 eggs and my current longest hunt (Crystal Onix ) is from April 2015
Species: Tentacool
Eggs Hatched: 2,047
1283 for Purrloin (no longer on my recorder due to time but checked)
Species: Kangaskhan
Eggs Hatched: 1,224
Species: Slowpoke Eggs
Hatched: 1,150
Species: Koffing
Eggs Hatched: 1,115
771 Bronzor, 768 Shellder, and 587 Remoraid. Apparently, I've gotten off easy with these.
Egg-wise, my longest hunt so far was my Klink hunt, which took 890 eggs. Though technically, I'm still hunting after a female shiny Eevee, which I still haven't found after over 2000 eggs (though I did complete several Eevee shiny hunts which were all male.)
Time-wise, it's any of the hunts I was on pre-hiatus. But I cancelled all of those before going on said hiatus 3 years ago and re-started them when I got back a couple of months ago. Longest continuous hunt seems to have been my Ponyta hunt (also the last completed hunt pre-hiatus), which took 308 days but only 190 eggs.
My longest hunt is already done.
I completed the hunt on 1st December 2013 and it took me 569 days and 1714eggs to complete it.
What pokemon it was?
This one
It was the SWSH in May 2012.
Used to be my Seviper hunt which clocked in at 1,147 eggs, but it was recently surpassed by my Tyrunt hunt at 1,158 eggs. I don't ever have any hunts that last only 100 eggs or so anymore...
Eggwise: Noibat from the January 2015 SWSH (1143 eggs)
Time-wise: Bulba Clone (291 days).
On a second note, I was looking through my breedings to see what shinies I've bred and looks like I bred someone a shiny which they've been hunting for 859 days (2+ years!).
My Amaura hunt is officially a year old this month; 1387 eggs and counting.
With the Shine Recorder? Misdreavus. Like 900+ (I was lazy and kept forgetting to register it in the Recorder for a few months) Eggs and counting so far. It sucks that the Eggs don't spawn often in the Lab because of Misdreavus's sort of high rarity.
Ha, wonder if I'll be able to get Persistent. (Though it's not really like I'll be bummed if I don't.)
As of right now the longest is Duskull at 254, completed.
Fennekin is catching up at 116. Fennekin's been going on longer than Duskull however.
I don't have all the extra Shine Record slots yet so I haven't "officially" started hunts for things like Ditto who could possibly keep that slot "locked" for awhile.
My longest hunt is Cubone for SWSH with over 900 eggs so far.
My longest so far was Snivy with 836 eggs.
Edit: I now realizes the thread asked for time, not egg numbers. Then my longest would still be Snivy, lasting from January 17 2012 until October 10 2015
I tend to measure length on eggs and not time, because I frequently take long hiatuses. Though with time, my longest complete hunt is Meowth; 3/14/13 to 9/19/15, 447 eggs. My longest incomplete hunt is Primal Dialga, which started on 11/6/11 and is still ongoing.
My longest one is still going. It's a Shiny race for the Office Wars achievement and it has been going on for about 3 years. I am considering talking with her on calling this group quits and switching to see if we would have any better luck.
My longest complete hunt is a shiny Minun hunt which lasted for 69 days. My longest ongoing hunt is a Shiny Plusle hunt which I started 2nd September 2015.
Longest by length is my turtwig that took 1676 days - 326 eggs.
Longest by eggs hatched is an swsh Litleo that took 1592 eggs - 22 days long, went like a weeksover the swsh limit too.
My longest shiny hunt is my Shiny Rattata hunt but it is not completed yet. I have hatched over 700+ eggs and I still didn't get a shiny Rattata .
Furfrou, with 1,210 eggs hatched.
My longest (And Only Shiny Hunt so far) Is my Froakie one started it in dec/2/15 and its still ongoing :P being mostly inactive the last month probably hasnt helped any :P
Species: Gulpin Eggs Hatched: 1,189 Date Started: Nov 1/11 Date Ended: Feb 13/16
4 years and 3.5 months, finally finished this monster of a shiny hunt. Completed three achievements for me too--Pokii's Rage, Determined and Lucky Day (also hatched a shiny Phantump today). Glad to finally have this done.
When it comes to egg count, my highest is Caterpie at 1,492. I've had a couple come close to that (like Geodude at 1,447) but none quite so high.
But when it comes to time, I'm not going to count my Rayquaza hunt, which started in 2012 and only has 11 hatched. My longest non-Novelty, non-Legendary hunt is Tyrogue, which lasted from November 2013 to April 2015
Deibot has been ongoing since May of last year. In just about three months it will have been a year.
longest in eggs is charmander at 1,860 time wise would be chikorita still on going from november of 2011 to be fair though 2 years of that i wasnt on the site
Autumn Tropius. I've been searching since November 2012, breeding mine constantly, hatching every Autumn Tropius egg my pair lays, but even after 735 hatched, I still haven't found one.
Bisharp. I started it about 3-4 years ago but never attempted it really until not long ago.
This Pokémon was egg #263 in Crasyforce 's 1216-day shiny hunt started on October 18th, 2012.
Took way to long
My Froakie hunt, from June 10th 2015. (Though I wasn't active for most of it.)
Species: Tyrunt
Eggs Hatched: 542
Date Started: Jan 24/16
Date Ended: Mar 15/16
that was for me the longest hunt ever ... .and it ended up giving me a male tyrant and not a female
Species: Deino Eggs Hatched: 992 Date Started: Nov 6/11 Date Ended: Jul 6/16
Almost expected it to go to a thousand...but no, this thing had to ruin the big number. Oh well, hello thing.
http://r.gpx.plus/OTgUG
I just came back after a 5 year absence... All of my shiny hunts started in 2010 LOL
>BD
I decided to do my very first shiny hunt during this month's SWSH. 597 eggs later, I still haven't found my shiny yet... :/
Even though I've only been on this site for barely a Month. I've only done 1 complete Hunt.
http://r.gpx.plus/glkcG
Species: Gulpin
Eggs Hatch: 40
Start Date: June 28th
End Date: July 25th
As of right now I'm working on the Site hunt and have hatched 67 eggs so far.
I've been hunting for a shiny Past Misdreavus since September 2011, with only seventeen eggs hatched thus far... so it's definitely my longest, even if it has one of the fewest egg counts.
I might have the worst luck in the history of novelty breeding.
I tend to measure time by eggs hatched because dates get messed up when you go on hiatus. I would also put personal hunts on the back burner for SWSH so personal hunts are kind of distorted timewise.
Greatest number of eggs for an ongoing hunt - personal (SWSH Sept. 13, 2012)
Dratini - 400 - I will have a pink noodle if it kills me
Longest time for an ongoing hunt - personal

Greatest number of eggs hatched for a complete hunt - personal

Due to two multi-year absences, my longest shiny hunt is the (ongoing) hunt for a shiny Absol, started April of 2012.
[EDIT] And I FINISHED IT!
http://r.gpx.plus/DtqBG
Egg 244, after exactly 1600 days. My beautiful girl, named after the Greek prophetess cursed by Apollo. Ah, she's so perfect~ ^-^
My longest shiny hunt was with my Shiny Pichu. It took 239 eggs and 3 months to complete (when counting the one month I was absence).
So far my longest shiny hunt was this months Anorith SWSH with 257 eggs hatched.
Though this was only the second shiny hunt I finished, since I joined the site exactly 1 month ago. The first one was a very lucky Gothita hunt with only 53 eggs.
ed.: 3 minutes later I finshed my Budew shiny hunt with 133 eggs
I just finished a hunt for shiny Vulpix that lasted four years and eleven months with 658 eggs hatched. Probably would've ended a long time ago had I not taken such a long break from the site though.... :P
Just finished my Tyrunt shiny hunt (yes, from the SWSH way back when) after 2,428 eggs in 628 days (about 1.75 years!) Too bad I couldn't reach 2,500, but I'm just relieved to be done. It took so long that I already got 5 Stone Shards!
The longest one would be my shiny Pichu and Eevee hunt, switching between them for no reason at all.
I think I've started my Eevee hunt in ... June (?) but my Pichu hunt started in August, hoping it won't last that long
Two weeks for a shiny charmander on an old account of mine. 200 eggs, none hatched into shiny charmander.
Species: Mareep
Eggs Hatched: 1,066
Date Started: Feb 13/13
3 and a half years, and I'm still going. I'm so mad, my mareep and lunar larvitar gave out FOUR SHINY MAREEP IN 2 DAYS!
grrrr
My shiny hunt with the most eggs is Chimchar (SWSH) at 1,168.
My shiny hunt that took the longest, I believe, is Solosis at 557 days or roughly 1.5 years. I'm too lazy to go back and check every single one.
This Pokémon was egg #1381 in D E A N 's 325-day site-wide shiny hunt started on November 16th, 2011.
I have already posted in this thread, but here are my new records..
Most egg hatched: shiny Seadra, 1381 eggs. Same as before. I still don't have anything even close to this (luckily!)When I sort my PokeDex with Most Obtained (Egg) this is my top 10:

Longest hunt in terms of days: shiny Festive Makuhita, 3 years and 24 days.
To be fair I did have a break between Oct. 2014 - May 2015 (not 100% sure about the months, took this info out of my shine recorder). And I'm fairly sure that there was another break too, but it was only like month or three.

My old post can be found in the spoiler below. My old post (click to show )
Mudkip is my longest hunt atm, 902 eggs hatched at his completion
Squirtle might potentially beat him, currently at 847...... more than BOTH shiny Charmanders, and my Bulbasaur combined. Oh well, I need that achievement for going over 1000 anyways
Sh. Hawlucha 's the longest shiny hunt. Don't know if anyone have more than me?

My current longest-running hunt is EB at 393 eggs hatched since feb 1/13... longest egg-wise is my litten SESH at 1398 and counting
Winter Vulpix for me over 400 eggs spanning forever.
It was my Shiny Rattata hunt and today I finally have completed this shiny hunt after 973 eggs and I have also unlocked my Persistent achievement.

This Pokémon was egg #1757 in YoRHa No9 Type S 's 445-day shiny hunt started on May 19th, 2017.
Egg-wise, the longest was this: https://r.gpx.plus/rtJbY
On one hand, I never want to see another Misdreavus Egg again, but on the other I'm a little under 200 Eggs away from Hatching Insanity and since it's relatively low Maturity, Misdreavus won't be as painful to hatch as other Pokemon would be.
As for time, I've honestly no idea who's taken the longest.
Time-wise, I have this one.

This Pokémon was egg #680 in YoRHa No9 Type S 's 1271-day shiny hunt started on October 31st, 2011.
As for time, it would be my shiny Vibrava:
https://r.gpx.plus/IhRka
This was 1008 eggs over 411 days. Apparently this pales in comparison to other people's record for longest time to finish shiny hunts.
As for eggs, it's my Masquerain:
https://r.gpx.plus/vaNSG
1538 eggs over 309 days.
my shiny feebas. i took a couple breaks from gpx while doing it, and actually only finished it when completing my second longest hunt. i grabbed a few feebas by accident

This Pokémon was egg #1925 in Yerwasius 's 223-day shiny hunt started on December 31st, 2018.
So, Jaden, my shiny Jolteon, is one of my longest - and with that maturity hatch for an Eevee, ridiculously painful.
BUUUUT.... he's actually second place.
Rufflet actually out beats him by 2,693 - granted, that was for two of them, but one of the Rufflets definitely went past my shiny Jolteon's mark. I was a bit silly about it, and ended up canceling and deleting the hunt off my shine recorder when it passed the other record.
Because I love Jolteon and wanted him to be the first in line not some silly bird xD
Of the rest of my hunts, I've had about 9 others go past the 1000 egg mark - one of them being Easter Buneary, which took ages to get. Man was I tried of breeding rabbits by that point.
My longest in number of eggs so far was:

This Pokémon was egg #1122 in jeanmichel's 72-day shiny hunt started on October 22nd, 2018.
It allowed me to breed some Kryduck and Platipus. And I used a lot of Psyduck from others' Kryduck and Platipus breeding I guess.
And I got it on Ultra Sun not long after too.
In terms of eggs my longest hunt was for Pidgey, in 2012. It took 2,269 eggs in total.
In terms of time it was Pink Caterpie, which not only was a 970 days hunt but also took an absurd amount of eggs for a novelty, 880!
My longest on-going hunt is for Pichu. I've hatched 993 eggs as for now and I still have more shiny pichu to get.
I started a shiny hunt for Floral Togepi back in 2016, (251 eggs hatched so far) but I've put it on hold to concentrate on finishing the shiny hunt for Igglybuff, left over from the SWSH a year ago. (2462 eggs hatched. Any day now...)
The technically longest is Furfrou at 1210 eggs - although I have hunts that definitely feel longer.
