Lucario

Type:Fight / Steel
Supposed tier: OU
Base Stats-
70 HP / 110 Atk / 70 Def / 90 Spd / 115 SAtk / 70 SDef
525 BST

Weaknesses: Fire (x2), Fighting (x2), Ground (x2)
Resistances: Normal (x0.5), Grass (x0.5), Ice (x0.5), Ghost (x0.5), Dragon (x0.5), Steel (x.0.5), Bug (x0.25), Rock (x0.25), Dark (x0.25)
Immunities: Poison

Abilities-
Inner focus: Lucario can't flinch. Lucario will still flinch if it is attacked when using focus punch.
Steadfast: Increases lucario's speed one stage when flinched.

Sword dancer

Lucario @ Life orb
Ability: Inner focus
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Satk)
- Sword Dance
- Close Combat
- Extremespeed / Bullet Punch
- Stone Edge / Crunch

Sword dance lucario is nothing to joke about. Saying it's good at sweeping is a HUGE understatement.
Close combat is the obvious STAB choice and is even more scary to things that don't resist it after a sword dance.
Extremespeed or bullet punch take out faster but fragile sweepers like azelf, infernape, ect. but bullet punch has the advantage of being able to hit ghosts. It's all up to preference really.
Crunch can take cresselia and dusknoir however stone edge will get gyarados, salamence and zapdos. Again it's up to personal preference.
Inner focus is preferred here because it's better lucario gets to sword dance and attack then to get +1 speed as you can easily extremespeed against a faster foe.

(WATCH THIS SPACE!)

Choice specs

Lucario @ Choice specs
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 252 SAtk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Aura Sphere
- Dark Pulse
- Dragon Pulse / Hidden Power [ICE]
- Psychic / Vacuum Wave
Aura sphere is an obvious STAB, capable of 2KOing blissey, assuming that blissey has a max IV in special defence and no EVs and max HP. And it's very unlikely blissey will ever have max HP.
Dragon pulse has an extra 20 more base power than hidden power and offers more neutrality whereas hidden power can get more super effective hits.
Dark pulse is for cresselia. Vacuum wave gets pokemon like weavile and hurts tyranitar aswell. Psychic however leaves a dent in heracross.
If you opt for vacuum wave shadow ball can replace dark pulse to hurt heracross a little more.

Choice bander

Lucario @ Choice band
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close combat
- Crunch
- Stone edge
- Extremspeed / Bullet Punch
Close combat is the general STAB move. Crunch for ghosts and psychics.
And stone edge gets bugs and fliers.
Extremspeed and bullet punch are both priority moves however bullet punch allows lucario to hit faster ghosts.
When both are doing neutral damage extremespeed does more damage.

Calm minder

Lucario @ Life orb
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 252 SAtk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Aura Sphere
- Dark Pulse
- Dragon Pulse / Hidden power [ICE]
It is worth noting that the choice specs set hits faster and gets more coverage, doing the same amount of damage. But this set can work. It let's lucario switch between moves and gives it a bit of durabilty on the special side.
Aura sphere is standard STAB. Dark pulse will dent cresselia.
Dragon pulse is for neutrality or hidden power to get ground types aswell and all OU dragons (except kingdra) are x4 weak to it.

Sub-salac sweepr

Lucario @ Salac berry
Ability: Inner focus
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Sword Dance
- Close Combat
- Crunch / Stone Edge

If you thought the sword dancer was scary. You'll get nightmares from this. A lucario with +2 attack and +1 speed can rip teams like bits of paper.
Note if your lucario has an even number IV for HP use those four HP EVs in defence.
This strategy is simple sub till your at 25% (sword dancing when you can) so you get the salac berry boost.

Reversal

Lucario @ Salac berry
Ability: Inner focus
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Endure / Substitute
- Sword Dance
- Reversal
- Crunch
Lucario gets STAB on reversal and is immune to sandstorm make it one of THE BEST reversalers out there.
Endure vs. substitute is up to you. Substitute is beaten by stealth rock although it protects against status.
Sword dance when you can and sweep with reversal. Crunch is for ghosts.

Counter reversal

Lucario @ Focus sash
Ability: Inner focus
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Counter
- Reversal
- Sword Dance / Agility
- Crunch
This set may seem like a joke at first but it is a surprise against a foe not expacting it. Lucario wants the lowest possible HP and defence IVs. This set must be used as a starter otherwise focus sash won't work as stealth rock is likely to be layed down. Sword dance or agilty if you get a chance (agility is mentioned because this lucario wont get a salc berry boost).
First counter an OHKO like earthquake from tyranitar or close combat from infernape. Thats one KO then sweep with reversal and crunch is for ghosts.

QUOTE(TyraniBoah)
Agility
Lucario@Life Orb
Naughty, 130 attack, 196 special attack, 184 speed/150 speed, 140 attack, 220 sp attack
- Agility
- Close Combat
- Dark Pulse/Crunch
- Dragon Pulse / Hidden Power Ice
180 speed EVs gets you to 261 speed which lets you outspeed Max speed, neutral natured Dragonites which maxes at 260. You could try and outspeed Dos but you can't do anything. After a Agility it reaches 524, outspeeding everything except some pokemon w/o a Scarf. Alternatively, you can use this spread: 150 speed, 140 attack, 220 sp attack; which will get you up to(after a agility): 505 speed, 320 attack, 321 sp attack, though you outspeed less before agility, 253 is the speed stat you have before agility.

Other Options:
Cross chop is a decent alternative to close combat it has 100 base power and a high critical hit ratio. However it still has low PP.
Low kick is another decent alternative, it has a base power of 120 against tyranitar, rhyperior and hippowdon. Although it only has 80 against skarmory and and a pitiful 60 base power against gliscor.
Focus blast should NOT be used in place of aura sphere, ever. I've seen people who do that which is the only reason I'm putting this.
Agility is another way to set up instead of sword dance.
Me first + choice scarf can work.
Metal sound can force switches on special sets or get an OHKO if they don't.
You can try a mainly physical set with hidden power ice to get gliscor or hidden power fire to get skarmory.

EVs / Nature:
Max speed and attack should be used on physical sets. And max speed and special attack should be used on specail sets.
Jolly or timid can be used instead of adamant and modest to get some more speed. The counter wants as little HP and defence as possible.

Counters:
Gliscor has resistance to fighting, high defence and roost plus it can finish physical lucario off with earthquake. It needs to look out for counter though.
Hippowdon also has high defence, can slack off lucario's attacks and has earthquake.
Weezing can pain split off attacks although it'll need flamethrower to do something to lucario.
Gyarados and salamence are quite good counters although they need to watch out for stone edge (or dragon pulse and hidden power ice in salamences case).
Blissey is 2KOed by aura sphere if it doesn't invest in special defence EVs ut it can softboil of the damage.
Zapdos can roost and has thunderbolt but needs to watch out for hidden power ice.
A defensive heracross resists aura sphere and dark pulse although needs to watch out for psychic.
Spirit tomb is immune to close combat and aura sphere and isn't weak to any of lucarios moves.
Cresselia can take any move except crunch and dark pulse and can usually ake atleast one of those without fainting.

Opinion:
Lucario should not be underestimated. It is possible to be either physical or special or switching to the wrong pokemon can be disasterous. However once it's set is revealed you'll know how to counter it.
But be warned lucario should not be unedrestimated.

If you really want this to be official, the names of moves should be capitalized. Ex: Stone Edge I know it's minor, but still. Really good job, Ruhi!

Psychic ONLY hits Heracross, Vacuum Wave is better. You would probably have another pokemon on your team to stop Heracross

It CAN work, but Lucario is slow, so change the nature to Timid and take some EVs from sp atk and put them into HP, like this: 252 speed, 138 hp, 120 sp atk, which gets you to: 315 HP, 296 Spatk and 306 speed. 296 is more than enough to OKHO Garchomp with HP Ice(dunno about dragon pulse)

Lucario is to frail to put HP EVs to good use. I'd just max SAtk and Spe with a Timid nature.

Yeah I agree with SMGT not that you don't know what you're doing but I also beleive that those Hp EVs will be minor. I'll just edit it to be timid and capatilize things. And I know vacuum wave is superior most of the time but some people still opt for psychic.

extremespeed and bpunch shouldn't be interchangeable.

espeed is a MUST on lucario. bullet punch can be in the last slot. the low bp sucks but its good for gengar and mence/gyara usually get so much hp shaved off of stealth rock that it doesn't matter cuz espeed should kill them late game. gengar is arguably a bigger threat than mence/gyara since gar will ALWAYS be faster than you and at least you can dent mence/gyara with espeed if you don't outright kill them.

if you dont want bpunch though crunch is probably more important than stone edge because cress/noir/gar will wall you or threaten you worse than the fliers esp. if you have SR up.

Imo Lucario isn't THAT frail, the extra HP could be used to switch into your long line of resistances. Apart from that you could included this agility set:

Lucario@Life Orb
Naughty, 130 attack, 196 special attack, 184 speed/150 speed, 140 attack, 220 sp attack
Agility
Close Combat
Dark Pulse/Crunch
Dragon Pulse/Hidden Power Ice

180 speed EVs gets you to 261 speed which lets you outspeed Max speed, neutral natured Dragonites which maxes at 260. You could try and outspeed Dos but you can't do anything. After a Agility it reaches 524, outspeeding everything except some pokemon w/o a Scarf. I disagree. Bullet punch shouldn't be used over stone edge or crunch. It can be used over extremspeed because it puts a huge dent into CSttar or DDttar, I know it doesn't really matter about weavile since it dies from extremespeed after a sword dance. Although extemespeed OHKOs salamence after stealth rock damage both 2KO if it doesn't. However extremespeed does a lot more damage to gyarados, especially bulkyGyara.

@TyraniBoah
I'll add the set now.

Lucario

Type:Fighting/ Steel
Supposed tier: OU
Base Stats-
70 HP / 110 Atk / 70 Def / 90 Spd / 115 SAtk / 70 SDef
525 BST

Weaknesses: Fire (x2), Fighting (x2), Ground (x2)
Resistances: Normal (x0.5), Grass (x0.5), Ice (x0.5), Ghost (x0.5), Dragon (x0.5), Steel (x.0.5), Bug (x0.25), Rock (x0.25), Dark (x0.25)
Immunities: Poison

Abilities-
Inner focus: Lucario can't flinch. Lucario will still flinch if it is attacked when using focus punch.
Steadfast: Increases lucario's speed one stage when flinched.

Sword dancer

Lucario @ Life orb
Ability: SteadFast
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Satk)
- Sword Dance
- Close Combat
- Extremespeed / Bullet Punch
- Stone Edge / Crunch

Sword dance Lucario is nothing to joke about. Saying it's good at sweeping is a HUGE understatement.
Close Combat is the obvious STAB choice and is even more scary to things that don't resist it after a sword dance.
Extremespeed or bullet punch take out faster but fragile sweepers like Azelf or Infernape.

Although bullet punch has the added advantage of being able to hit ghosts, which Extremespeed cannot. It's all up to preference really.

Crunch can take Cresselia and Dusknoir, however Stone Edge will get Gyarados, Salamence and Zapdos. Again it's up to personal preference.

SteadFast is preferred here because it's better lucario gets to sword dance and attack then to get +1 speed as you can easily Extremespeed or Bullet Punch against a faster foe.

Choice specs

Lucario @ Choice specs
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 252 SAtk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Aura Sphere
- Dark Pulse
- Dragon Pulse / Hidden Power Ice
- Vacuum Wave
Aura Sphere is an obvious STAB, capable of 2KHOing blissey, assuming that Blissey has a max IV in special defence and no EVs and max HP. And it's very unlikely blissey will ever have max Special Defense and HP.

Dragon pulse has an extra 20 more base power than hidden power and offers more neutrality whereas hidden power can get more super effective hits.

Dark pulse is for cresselia . Vacuum wave gets faster pokemon like Weavile.

Psychic can be used, however its only purpose is to OKHO Heracross, apart from that, it is useless

Obviously, Vacuum Wave hits those faster than you.

Choice bander

Lucario @ Choice band
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close combat

Aura sphere is standard STAB. Dark pulse will dent Cresselia.
Dragon pulse is for neutrality or hidden power to get ground types as well and all OU dragons (except kingdra) are x4 weak to it.

Sub-salac sweepr

Lucario @ Salac berry
Ability: Inner focus
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Sword Dance
- Close Combat
- Crunch / Stone Edge

If you thought the sword dancer was scary. You'll get nightmares from this. A lucario with +2 attack and +1 speed can rip teams like bits of paper.
Note if your lucario has an even number IV for HP use those four HP EVs in defence.
This strategy is simple sub till your at 25% (sword dancing when you can) so you get the salac berry boost.

Reversal

Lucario @ Salac berry
Ability: Inner focus
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Endure / Substitute
- Sword Dance
- Reversal
- Crunch
Lucario gets STAB on reversal and is immune to sandstorm make it one of THE BEST reversalers out there.
Endure vs. substitute is up to you. Substitute is beaten by stealth rock although it protects against status.
Sword dance when you can and sweep with reversal. Crunch is for ghosts.

Counter reversal

Lucario @ Focus sash
Ability: Inner focus
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Counter
- Reversal
- Sword Dance / Agility
- Crunch
This set may seem like a joke at first but it is a surprise against a foe not expacting it. Lucario wants the lowest possible HP and defence IVs. This set must be used as a starter otherwise focus sash won't work as stealth rock is likely to be layed down. Sword dance or agilty if you get a chance (agility is mentioned because this lucario wont get a salc berry boost).
First counter an OHKO like earthquake from Tyranitar or close combat from Infernape. Thats an OKHO, then you can use Crunch and Reversal for sweeping, but beware of priority moves

Agility
Lucario@Life Orb
Ability: SteadFast
EVs: 130 attack, 194 special attack, 180 speed/150 speed, 140 attack, 220 special attack
Naughty Nature(+Atk, -Sp Def)
- Agility
- Close Combat
- Dark Pulse/Crunch
- Dragon Pulse / Hidden Power Ice

Lucario has one problem that really stops it sweeping, its speed. With Agility that is no longer a problem. There are two EV spread, one is designed for more power, but less speed, the other is with more speed, and less power.
The first spread gets you to 261 speed, which lets you outspeed Max speed, neutral natured Dragonites, which maxes at 260.

You could try and outspeed Gyarados but you can't do anything to it. After an Agility it reaches 524, outspeeding everything except pokemon with a Choice Scarf.

Alternatively, you can use the second spread, which has much more power, but less speed, you will have 253 before an agility then 506 after one.

Me first + choice scarf can work.

Metal sound can force switches on special sets or get an OHKO if they don't.

You can try and put Hidden Power Ice on the Swords Dance set to hurt Gliscor.

EVs / Nature:
Max speed and attack should be used on physical sets. And max speed and special attack should be used on special sets.

Jolly or timid can be used instead of adamant and modest to gain some more speed.

The counter set wants as little HP and defence as possible.

Counters:

Gliscor has resistance to fighting, high defence and roost plus it can finish most physical Lucario sets off with earthquake. It needs to look out for counter though.

Hippowdon is an another counter to physical sets.

Weezing can pain split off attacks although it'll need flamethrower to do something to lucario.
Gyarados and salamence are quite good counters although they need to watch out for stone edge (or dragon pulse and hidden power ice in Salamences case).

Blissey is 2KOed by aura sphere if it doesn't invest in special defence EVs though it can softboil off the damage.

Heracross resists aura sphere and dark pulse, in general, it is a good switch into special sets, just be wary of Psychic

Spiritomb is immune to close combat and aura sphere and isn't weak to any of Lucarios moves.
Cresselia can take any move except crunch and dark pulse and can usually take at least one of those without fainting.

Opinion:
Lucario should not be underestimated. It is possible to be either physical or special or switching to the wrong Pokemon can be disastrous. However once it's set is revealed you'll know how to counter it. Be warned Lucario, should not ever be underestimated.

Corrected some stuff and re wrote my set.

I agree with RyanK on the whole Bullet Punch ordeal, except I flat out don't recommend it at all. I really just don't see the point, since Extremespeed always does more damage and, even if it outspeeds a stray DDTar or two it's not going to be an OHKO.

Actually Lucario can OHKO the standard dragon dance and choice scarf tyranitar, although not always guarranteed. And it gets gengar and mismagius. Bullet does miles more damage to ANY tyranitar and even the standard tyranitar gets a huge dent from bullet puch if you make a mistake and assume it's choice scarfed. The difference between bullet punch and extremespeed on bulkymence is minor. And although extremspeed OHKOs a standard salamence that's taken damage from stealth rock both 2KO if it hasn't. I never said bullet punch is completely superior but it is a viable option.

My Riolu has a Naive nature with a "Likes to Run" attitude. Anyone know of a good skill set for that situation? If not, I could just make one and describe it later.

Uhhh....

Naive raises Speed and lowers Sp. Defense. "Likes to Run" has like 1039428 different possibilities for stats. Those things are useless. So now you've found out that Speed is raised and your offensive stats are untouched. Lucario has relatively high offensive stats, so why not use both? Lucario has Close Combat or Aura Sphere for your STAB Fighting attack, and Bullet Punch for Steel. Priority moves are pretty much a must in Platinum, so how about Close Combat and Bullet Punch? Close Combat OHKOs Blissey, which is kinda important. So you'll be weak against bulky grounds now. Hidden Power Ice helps with that.

Now you've got 3 moves. 2 are physical, 1 is special. You can go for Swords Dance or Agility now as your stat booster, or go for another attack like Shadow Ball (Fighting and Ghost is a perfect type combo) or Stone Edge (Fighting and Rock is pretty good too).

For EVs, Lucario is a sweeper and should generally stick to that role. You should try using the least possible amount of speed on Lucario, but since base 90 is pretty common, 252 speed EVs is almost necessary. The next thing is to find out how to split up attack and special attack. If you're using only HP Ice as your special attack, 252 Atk and 4 SpA will do fine since HP Ice still OHKOs Salamence and Gliscor, which is its main purpose. Dunno about Dragonite. So you've got 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe. Test it and if it works fine then keep it.

See, not that hard to come up with a moveset.
