@Dragonwish: We're pretty lax on that. It's like...as long as the moves are pretty or cool looking, right?
@Colourcodedchaos: I'm still really hesitant on the concept. That sort of weapon would have more of a home in Uprising, in my opinion. I can't help but be very skeptical on the concept, especially when it could be utilized in an unfair manner. I'd like to see you in a few more roleplays first, to be honest, even with the limitations you've set on yourself. -------------------- Song Stuck in My Head:~*~Blank Space - Ariana Silvanas (Postmodern Jukebox Cover)~*~ Pane (click to show ) Uprising (click to show ) |

Out of Curiosity:
Is there anything remotely medieval in Furoh background? Would it be feasible to create medieval history? If not in Furoh, can anyone think of any other Pokemon region that has anything medieval? -------------------- Me (click to show ) PANE (click to show ) Credits (click to show ) |

Out of Curiosity: Is there anything remotely medieval in Furoh background? Would it be feasible to create medieval history? If not in Furoh, can anyone think of any other Pokemon region that has anything medieval? Because my character is running around Furoh in armor, a cape, and wields a broadsword, I too have been wondering this :P. I don't think there's room for medieval history in Furoh since its founding. The closest I could think of a medieval style place would be Blackthorn in Johto. Also, Sinnoh's pokemon league is in a giant castle, so there's got to be something. Maybe the anime has more answers to that question. -------------------- PANE Mod PANE x2 (click to show ) Credit for 2gamer's Seel of Approval (click to show ) |

Well, if you change your mind, my mother is a history lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University and her doctoral work is all about medieval bestiaries (books of beasts), so I could cadge a bit of help from her and her books. They're pretty fascinating documents, since they explain a lot about the Church of the day through the allegories they use. Plus, sometimes they're hilarious. For instance, in one document, the hedgehog is a symbol of heresy, since it sneaks through vineyards and steals grapes grown by the righteous via its prickles, and the beaver's defence mechanism involves biting off its own testicles and throwing them at pursuing predators.
I am not making any of that up. -------------------- |

Speaking of history, there was talk of developing a loose timeline to show the chronology of major events like the disappearance of the Furite civilization, the founding of modern Furoh, the abandonment of Lenoilia and the construction of Gigarte. Has there been any discussion of that recently?

A timeline would be ever so helpful.
Toogee, that's sort of Don Quixote awesome. Good ideas about Sinnoh and Blackthorn, and I was also thinking Unova since Team Plasma had the knight look going on until they switched to ninja pirates, and also to the castle-like ruins. CCC, I'm not really looking for help creating it itself, I just want to know if there is a basis to create it anywhere in Pokemon. -------------------- Me (click to show ) PANE (click to show ) Credits (click to show ) |

For medieval towns in the anime, how about the town in the lucario/mew movie? I'm not sure if it was meant to look that way or if the festival thing had more of a part to play...

You know, way back when, I started a time-line.
Then I forgot. Here's what I had, to date: QUOTE(Timeline @ from Wiki + a few role-plays) -59 Years: Diana of Gigarte is born in Lilycove, Hoenn -50 Years: The Founders land on Furoh's Soil. The land is divided amongst them. -38 Years: The Yellow King of Carcosa is born. -34 Years: Rio of Petropolis is born. -30 Years: Lenoilia is overrun by pollution from Petropolis, and its citizens flee to Gigarte. Most notable among the populace are the Hoenn immigrant Diana, and the parents of Chloe. -30 Years: The Fifth Explorer sows the seeds for Team Deception -29 Years: Otis of Arasam is born. -26 Years: Maxy Z! of Fidona is born. -24 Years: Chloe of Gigarte is born. -21 Years: Troy of Arasam is born. -18 Years: Carmen of Fidona is born -13 Years: Blue retires. Belinda Frost takes over Arasam and shuts down the Arasam Gym. -10 Years: Otis defeats Belinda Frost and frees Arasam from the "Ice Queen's Court", and re-opens the Arasam Gym. -Troy of Arasam briefly takes over the Gym while Otis helps rebuild Arasam. -8 Years: Charizard Isle is discovered -4 Years: At age 22, Maxi Z! Takes over as ruler of the Amazons and as the Gym Leader of Fidona That's what I got so far. I could always go back and revisit this project, if it would be helpful to everyone. -------------------- Song Stuck in My Head:~*~Blank Space - Ariana Silvanas (Postmodern Jukebox Cover)~*~ Pane (click to show ) Uprising (click to show ) |

Whoa, that looks great. Now it just needs the Furite stuff, right?
Also, I think our Medieval dilemma is resolved! Gen 6 screenshots hint at the new region being set somewhere in France (Eiffel Tower screenshot?) and there was definitely a castle! -------------------- Me (click to show ) PANE (click to show ) Credits (click to show ) |

Okay, I've been through the thread and I couldn't find something like this, so here goes:
Can Pokemon in PANE learn moves from the TCG that aren't in the video games? Say, at the level that the Pokemon's shown at on a card, for instance. -------------------- |

Originally, pokemon in PANE could learn any move that made sense for that pokemon to learn. For example, a ralts line pokemon could learn any psychic move, so long as it wasn't overly powered for their level, but learning, say, a fire move would be right out. It became clear that moves were more complicated than that, and we silently decided to stick with the movelists on Bulbapedia and other sites.
We also barred special moves, mostly to keep the flying or surfing pikachu to a minimum (that minimum being 0). That being said, if a logical case can be made for it (for example, a logical case was made for a rhydon learning surf, since its evolution can), I know our current mod team will look at it and give it considerable thought before giving an answer. So, in short, ask about it specifically. The worst that can happen is the answer is no. -------------------- |

Sorry KreaPea, you're in the wrong forum for that sort of question. Is it on GPX+? You may want to try one of the forums above this one. This forum is specifically for PANE Roleplaying, so it's not a question we can exactly answer for you.

Probably not. Remember, contests get broadcasted, and children watch them.

I would also assume it would depend on the individual judge. I don't think say...Nurse Joy would give high marks (unless she's a ghetto version of her sisters or something :P).

Just to add - Context matters. "Excessive" profanity is certainly dependent on how you use it. I would absolutely consider that song excessive for our purposes.
Throwing some "bad words" here or there isn't a big deal, just as long as it comes off natural and unoffensive. A character shouting "fuck!" when he stubs his toe is entirely different from an angry character shouting "fuck you guys!" If you don't trust yourself to make the distinction, then just don't do it. -------------------- [spoiler=PANE - Justin Smart] Justin Smart Profile Current Level Post Wiki Currently In: Zoobreak!
