"An incorrect referrer header was detected, so your interaction was not submitted."
The sentence above is what I get when I want to feed a pokemon a berry or warm an egg. This is starting to get on my nerves and I have no clue about its meaning. I think it may be fixable if I get a valid "referrer", though I have no clue how. Can someone help me fix this? -------------------- |

It means that pokémon is in that person's PC or has been abandoned. Just close the page and move on I'm afraid.

Actually, in the past at least when people have had this problem, it has had absolutely nothing to do with what Immersion said? So if that suggestion doesn't work, here are some things that have been suggested in the past (the search function on the forums works wonders...):
-updating browser to newest version -disabling all add-ons/extensions to see if one of them is causing the problem -clearing cache/cookies -checking your advanced settings (about:config) and making sure network.http.sendRefererHeader is set to 2 - that suggestion was for firefox, not sure what browser you're using |

That has nothing to do with the site.
What browser are you using? If you've added any add-ons recently, try disabling them and see if it works. If that doesn't work, just try running your browser in safe mode. -EDIT- ...just read what Kristastic said :V -------------------- |

I have tried about:config, and the value is set to 2. The other options did not work as well.
I had no clue about the search function! Thank you for telling me that. -------------------- |

Type in about:config into your address bar and look for network.http.sendRefererHeader and make sure it's set to 2.

Type in about:config into your address bar and look for network.http.sendRefererHeader and make sure it's set to 2. As mentioned above (I have no clue why the edit didn't show up) It is already set at two Seems like I'm forever stuck. -------------------- |

Hmmm @_@ Yeah, search function is fun xD But anyway. That's all I got for suggestions Darn. Which browser is it? & can you try a different browser to see if its a problem with the one specific browser, or with your computer itself?

Do you have a firewall? Try disabling that, or see if there's any setting relevant to this.

And it worked! Thank Big Bidoof, I owe you one there!
I'm gonna try a way to not have my firewall off though. Last time I got it off, my computer got a serious virus that made me get a new computer... -------------------- |

Is it only happening with certain pokemon? or all?
Does it only happen in Firefox? or other browsers? If it's only certain pokemon, it's likely a site problem (perhaps the info page hasn't updated and is incorrect therefore sending an 'incorrect' referer header). If it's just certain pokemon, perhaps linking to some so other users can see if they have the same issue? If it's all, it's probably a browser problem. If it's just Firefox, you may want to try a clean install at this point. (I also suggest trying Beta if you want. I'm using it with no problems and it's faster. The interface is similar to Opera/Chrome.) If it's all browsers, well, I haven't figured that one out yet. I'll keep Googling if this is the problem. (This error is always intriguing for me because there's not much a user can do to fix it but it generally fixes itself after a while...) -------------------- |

Retrospect- I managed to fix it by disabling my firewall. It seemed to be blocking something.
If you wanted to know, it was happening with ALL pokemon, and I use Firefox. -------------------- |

I know you use Firefox, but I was wondering if it was only Firefox that was causing the issue.
Anyways, glad it was resolved. If you're having problems with your firewall but don't want to keep it disabled, see if there is some kind of safe list to which you can add GPX to and see if it lets you send referer headers that way. EDIT: Oh, that's a great link! I'll have to remember it for future referer header problems. This post has been edited by Retrospect: Jul 26 2010, 07:24 PM -------------------- |
