I think this goes here . . .
Anyway, I just recently went to my first anime convention (NYAF) or whatever you call it with a bunch of my friends, and I LOVED it. There were cosplayers EVERYWHERE, and I was overwhelmed by all the manga, anime, and other stuff. I bought a lot of things, too. There was this part called the . . . Artist's Alley, and I bought a bunch of posters and pins. There was this cosplay singer called Reni . . . who was dancing and singing in a very annoying voice in a bunny suit How was your first convention? Anime conventions... yeah, we get about 5 to 10 of them every year... I suppose they're fine, minus the crowd and the little space where the event is held at. Though, if comparing with conventions from outside, you might say we have them cheap (entrance fee I mean)... and I wish they would improve the programs they have or the booths... as anime conventions are turning into friend gathering with some cosplaying and not enough authentic anime stuff to buy... so I'm bleh to the cons here, though I enjoy them one way or another.

Never been but my friends go a lot and I really want to go to one. I think they went to dragcon and momocon this year. One of my friends says I could pull cloud strife off and I would love that. To cosplay cloud and go to the con. It would be so much fun if I could pull it off and I would get to buy all of this anime stuff that I can never find anywhere else. It seems like it wants to hide from me.
Can't wait for dragcon to come around again though. It would be so cool if I really could go. -------------------- Hey. Dark, Arcy if you see this, you can find me (Wishie) here: https://www.madisonrenae.com/ https://www.facebook.com/madison.pontenberg/ |

I remember when I was a convirgin. My first con was actually CNAnime 06. I went with 3 of my friends and had a great time, but I must say my second con was my most memorable and that was Anime North 07. That was the greatest two days of my life. I've spent so much money at these cons it's not even funny. XD See, Anime North is where I finally learned to stop caring what other people thought of me. I was finally someplace where people actually understood me and accepted me. I've gone there every year since. I cosplay each year, and this year I have yet to decide on what I'll be. I just got my licence, so hopefully I'll be driving and such. ;D Maybe my first 3 day stay. <3 I might be Absol if my Halloween costume for it goes over well. <3

I've been to MomoCon in Atlanta, GA. It was quite enjoyable, but what made it even better, was the free admission to EVERYTHING. It was incredibly fun and I got a shit ton of stuff. While we waited to get in, there was a guy cosplaying as Edward Elric. He was quite funny, along with a TREMENDOUS NERD. (That's bad, coming from me. ._.)

There's nothing around here...
The closest thing I've been too is Free Comic Book Day which is pretty much nothing like that at all except everyone cosplays and does Caramell-dansen. I WANNA GO TO A REAL ONE:( -------------------- Uxie Anitarig Daisuke Weasley Sceptile Rika |

I went to my first anime convention last year on September with one of my best friends. ANIME CONVENTIONS ARE THE BEST!~ I bought a bunch of anime stuff but I plan to make my best friend's dad buy me a katana.
Also I plan to go to one during the summer and much later in October. This post has been edited by l Dark l: Jun 1 2010, 06:59 PM -------------------- |

I LOVE anime conventions. I usually stick to ones from around here, though, so I almost always see a couple of my friends that I met from the last convention.

I love cons almost as much as I love cosplay.
The ones I tend to hit up are Ikasucon, AWA, and ACen. -------------------- |

For one thing, they are never in my area (Ohio), and if they were, I would not go, because it's where all the Narutards hang out.........
-------------------- CLICK MY ROBOT POKEMON ARMY OR ELSE!!!!!! My icon was made by MelNathea on DeviantART My DeviantART account Water types are weak against Fire types if they use Thunder as armor. Flareon can use dive and aim for the horn. Then finish it off with False Swipe although it may faint if it uses Endure...but thats just because everyone knows Arbok evolves into Seviper |

I really don't like the crowd anime conventions attract. I do enjoy anime, but not to an extent where I would go to a convention. It would make me feel absolutely horrible to be compared to "Narutards" who know nothing of anime. If I went, I would never go back.

Anime conventions are awesome, haha - I've been to several and only one convention has really sucked. >> The others were completely awesome and I had lots of fun meeting new people as well as buying unique items.
