if I could vote, I'd vote obama. Not only is he a better choice than McCain, I pity McCain. He knows he can't win, so he's making a feeble atttempt at getting votes by appointing a female vice prez. Palin is a bad choice, because she has EVEN LESS experience than obama, and she said that she, a small-town mayor, has more responsibilities than... I forget what she said, but it was just wrong.
Every McCain ad makes me want to vote for obama MORE. This one ad had "Obama! obama!" chanting in the backround. SERIOUSLY. The message was something like "Everyone loves him. He's expierienced, ready to lead, and a good choice. But is he ready to lead? yes. I mean no." Not only is McCain old, He's old enough to drop dead at any point in time. If that happened, Palin would be the president. Do you really think that electing Sarah Palin to Run your country would be a good idea? Thoughts/Comments GO! |

from what i know, America's dead. Both obama and mccain dont know anything about economy. if obama becomes president, America is 3 trillion dollars in debt. mccain is worse. if mccain is president, America is 5 trillion dollars in debt. their plan? to lower taxes for poor ppl and higher taxes for rich ppl. i generally think that there should be a test to be come a candidate that makes sure u know about economy, politics, etc. i dont vote for any of em.

I don't know too much about politics, but if I could vote, I'd vote Obama simply because he's not white. Not that I'm racist or anything, I just think it's about time that someone representing the minority groups in the U.S. becomes President

Me again.
People everywhere say "we're screwed hohsnap" about economy and the environment. Now, We're pretty much screwed in the ass with the enviornment, but the economy... I think the war is what's raping the economy and making the taxes higher. Sure, if obama wins, the taxes will go up. But if McCain wins, the taxes will go higher, and STAY higher. Not voting doesn't solve anything. It's voting that makes a difference. |

I'm uh... rooting for McCain to lose. I really don't think we need a carbon copy of our current president. I'm not necessarily rooting for Obama here either because I don't find him that great a choice either, but we'll see when it comes.
QUOTE Not that I'm racist or anything, I just think it's about time that someone representing the minority groups in the U.S. becomes President What will race have to do with how well they'll serve as a president? At this time, it doesn't matter if the person is black, white, asian, arab, whatever, as long as they can help lead the country towards a better future (which it desperately needs), they are getting my vote.

AMERICAN MAN WE ARE FREAKIN SCREWED IF EITHER WAS ELECTED. ONE WANTS TO KEEP OUR TROOPS THERE AND LOWER TAXES AND THE OTHER WANTS TO PULL STRAIGHT OUT AND RAISE TAXES WITH THAT. At this point, we need our troops to stay in Iraq. We're doing much better there, and just leaving would be disasterous to the Iraqi people. For moral's sake, we need a garrison until Iraq's government wants us out. I am currently a McCain supporter. I agree with his defense policies much more, and seems more capable as President. Both candidates have in my opinion, terrible VPs and many views I don't agree with, but McCain just seems a bit more reasonable. Regardless of who wins, alot of Americans are probably going to lose. Personally, voting for a candidate based on race is extremely foolish. Because really, how is the colour of one's skin important in leading this country? -------------------- I have claimed Kanghaskhan.

im sorry pk, but sword salmon is right. im voting obama because yeah, taxes will go up, but when the troops come back, they will go down eventually. if we vote mccain, troops will stay in iraq, and taxes will go up regardless.

I know it's really stupid to choose Obama just because he's black, but I don't know about anything that's been going on. All I know is that my dad's somewhere in the Middle East fighting for something stupid. I don't know about politics or America's economy or anything like that. Therefore, I'm choosing which candidate I would vote for just by judging them for their face value. I'm sure there are some people who will say that I'm stupid and ignorant, but I'm not the only one who's doing this. Besides, I'm too young to vote anyway and in the future, I don't plan on voting for anything major.

Constitution Party all the way. Let's get rid of this stupid popularity contest get back to actually leading the nation and representing the people. While we're at it, let's throw everyone out of the house and senate that has missed more than 1% of their vote opportunities. These people are elected in by their constituents, get a salary and benefits and retirement from our taxpayer dollars and half of them skip out on work to do what? Campaign for the next go 'round. For those of you who were alive when Reagan was in office, I actually liked Reagan. After that things really seemed to go downhill in a hurry. He wasn't the best, but at least some of the stuff that he did lead to the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the USSR. Now we've got more nations with nuclear weapons who are a little too trigger happy for my tastes than we can shake a stick at. </soapbox> |

I cannot stand either of them, to be honest. I would've much rather have Hillary be president, in my opinion.
Obama... he doesn't know anything. He promises are too big, his speeches are too vague, and people are just gonna vote for him because he's black or because he's a Democrat. No offense to either, but a president has to be able to lead well, no? As for McCain... he just seems too Bush-like for me. He's lesser of the two Republican evils, but I don't see much change coming from someone so staunchly conservative. Iraq is a waste of resources - we should take everything of value, pull out, and not turn back. If spreading democracy around the world means that we take other countries' interests before our own, then we should think twice before trying to bring democracy to the world, especially to countries who did not ask for it. As our economy shows, our way of government and economics is clearly not the best way or the only way. What we need is someone that is liberal but has a gameplan for making the country a little bit more stable. Hillary was our best chance of that out of the big three, but people are too easily fascinated by the empty words of Obama. I think that the best thing to do on Election Day is move. -------------------- My friend code for Pearl is 1160-9066-4343 My Friend Code for Diamond, my hack version, is 1805 5204 6808 Thanks sushikitty! If I could, McCain. Obama wants to kill innocent lives that survived abortion by starvation. Innocent babies that survived something that tried to kill them; maybe god has a plan for them and wants them to live!

Obama, dude!!! The guy rules!! It's the Debates forum, please post in with a higher level of intellect. This board is more serious than the others overall, which is why I'd ask you to do so; I wouldn't in any other board on the forum.

Before I start, I want to warn you that I swear a lot more than I usually do in this post. I don't know why...maybe just because I don't like politics and people being such pricks about the subject. Anyway, that was just a disclaimer.
Now then, a few things~ I'm 17, so I won't be able to vote in this election. Shame? Not really. As for my political stance: I hate politics. In my opinion, most politicians are just a bunch of money hoarding liars who get your votes with all their promises of candy and sweet things and then just slack off and do completely incoherent, stupid things with everyone's tax dollars for no particular reason. Cort adjourned. Anyway, I consider myself Independent since I tend to think open-mindedly from both sides of the spectrum, but find myself more Conservative due to my morals and ethics, beliefs, etc. If I COULD vote...well, I don't think I would. Both candidates are horrible, in my opinion. I'd rather just have Johnny Depp dress up as Jack Sparrow and be president. It'd be a lot funnier and he'd probably do a better job. See, the real problem, though is that both Obama, McCain, Hillary, whoever, all suck ass. What ever happened to the GOOD presidential candidates who actually...like gave a shit? Guess they all died a while back with all the culture we had in America. But if I really HAD to vote, it would probably be for McCain. Partially because of all the ignorant people out there just voting for Obama because he's black. Wow. Ok. Now I wouldn't mind a black president. Hell, that'd actually be pretty cool. I just can't stand idiots who vote for him just because he's black. Also because I can't stand Obama's promises of "change." Yeah...uh...change what? Nobody seems to be able to answer that one. I think he might be referring to the economy, but I don't think either of those two guys can do that at this point unless they can come up with a couple trillion dollars to pay China back. Maybe it's the black thing... Also, about the whole war in Iraq thing: I know that McCain is supporting staying there. Do I agree with the "war" in Iraq? Hell no! It was the stupidest, most random thing I've ever seen! But I strongly believe that if we decided to go over there and start something then we better finish it. Because how bad would it look if we went over, killed a bunch of people to try and stop some terrorists, and then said, "Oh...yeah, sorry about all that. We're leaving now. Bye." and just left without finishing the job? REALLY BAD! Besides, the people down there signed up to be down there. They weren't drafted in. They knew what they were getting into. They decided that they wanted to serve their country the best they could and no matter what you think of what's going on down there, you have to respect them for that. And again, I'm more conservative anyway, so I have to lean more towards the whole anti-abortion thing as well. Actually, scary story: I just found out that one of my close friends from school was actually supposed to be aborted and it Scared. Me Shitless. Try and imagine that; if one of your closest friends was actually supposed to be killed as a fetus. Just think about that before you all talk about your "pro-choice" issues. Anyway, I may have just made a total ass of myself but I really don't care. I'm sick of politics...actually of politicians, mostly. As I said, I really wouldn't vote for any of them. It's just a giant popularity contest where the only ones who really lose are the people who vote. But I'll tell you who would make a good president... Vader '08!!! -------------------- |

i am a registered republican. i will not vote for mccain, or obama. this is why:
from what i know, America's dead. Both obama and mccain dont know anything about economy. if obama becomes president, America is 3 trillion dollars in debt. mccain is worse. if mccain is president, America is 5 trillion dollars in debt. their plan? to lower taxes for poor ppl and higher taxes for rich ppl. i generally think that there should be a test to be come a candidate that makes sure u know about economy, politics, etc. i dont vote for any of em. just 3 trillion? have you checked it in the last 2 years? we have been 9 trillion in debt for well over the last year my friend. we owe 3 trillion just to china... we have a terrible dollar value because we put the power of controlling the dollars value to a private bank...thats right, the federal reserve is a private bank that is no more federal than federal express...if we want to reduce our debt we need to stop letting men sitting in marble palaces decide the value of our dollar and back the dollar in gold again. the only candidates willing to do that are bob barr and chuck baldwin. <soapbox> Constitution Party all the way. Let's get rid of this stupid popularity contest get back to actually leading the nation and representing the people. While we're at it, let's throw everyone out of the house and senate that has missed more than 1% of their vote opportunities. Now we've got more nations with nuclear weapons who are a little too trigger happy for my tastes than we can shake a stick at. </soapbox> i will either vote for chuck baldwin of the constitution party, bob barr of the libertarian party, or my original choice i will write in Ron Paul... I cannot stand either of them, to be honest. I would've much rather have Hillary be president, in my opinion. Obama... he doesn't know anything. He promises are too big, his speeches are too vague, and people are just gonna vote for him because he's black or because he's a Democrat. I think that the best thing to do on Election Day is move. hilary would be a terrible choice for president. we dont need another clinton, bush, or other dynasty in our white house. this is america, not england(no offense to england but we try not to let family members run our country) we need a REAL conservative leader who will cut the spending and really cut the taxes. that is the only way to stop the debt and save our country from going bankrupt. a liberal leader will spend more to try to fix the problem(like they are doing now and passing stupid bills in congress to save the butts of the ceos of failing corporations)...corporations need to fall. the more we meddle in the ecosystem of the economy the sooner we will end up in a depression. where are we gonna get the 700 billion dollars to save these companys? from the tax payers. im sorry but if you cut the taxes and allow the people to spend there money in the market it boosts the economy more than throwing money at rich ceos so they can keep their pension while the average joe that has worked for the company gets fired so the ceos can make more money. there is no place in the constitution saying my tax dollars are there to bail out greedy idiots... america needs to vote for a third party candidate to show the democrats and the republicans they are both wrong by helping their ceo friends when they fail. it is not the taxpayers job to protect them. www.campaignforliberty.com <go to this site if you want to learn more about the issues that americans need to pay attention to. p.s.: there are very few actual conservatives in charge right now, democrat or republican. that is why we have so much debt right now. mccain is just as liberal as obama.
