I have a love/hate relationship with it. On the one hand, it's a nice game, well crafted, and it's fun at first.
On the other hand, for those of us not interested in grinding for hours, it gets dull fast. The class system is obscure, so a new player has no clue how to optimize their class choice, and the quests tend to consist of "kill X number of Y monster" or "bring me X number of Z item dropped by Y". I like Mabinogi better.

Used to. But I only started because my cousin wanted me to. Forced gameplay out of guilt kills the experience.
 It was pretty fun though.

Used to play.. got to lvl 43... But then my friend showed me World of Warcraft.... which is alot funner to me.... so I'd have to disagree with Maplestory being the funnest Mmorpg

I used to play but, all the immature 10 year olds are one of the top reasons why I left. I hate how they constantly threw around the word Noob and yet, they never realized how stupid that made them look.
Steal Killing is another reason I left. I can't stand Steal Killers. And, beggars.. and people who went around and said CCPlz all the time. But the #1 reason I left is because of Hackers. I can't stand people who can not play the game properly. They have to be script kiddies and use programs to train themselves quickly and give themselves super jump abilities and such. It's so annoying.  I'm glad I left. |

Well... most of those reasons for quitting/not playing are pretty good ones... Hackers are really frustrating, but normally they can't get to you if you don't drop anything. I know, both my brothers got hacked xD
And though there are many, and I mean MANY noobs out there, you get used to it and ignore them. And kill stealers (yes, not steal killers, it's kser, not sker) ARE annoying, but there are 19 different channels, so... -------------------- Rawwr

It doesn't matter where you go, each channel will be filled with the same ignorance and immaturity. It's not worth dealing with. As for ignoring, I don't ignore so easily. I'm not alone on that ether. I know a lot of people who have left Maplestory for the same reasons as me.

I'm different. I much prefer to stick around people and talk and such. The only time I liked to be enigmatic and quiet is when I was training. But I did give Kill Stealers a heck of a time and, those that begged and said CCPlz all the time. I just prefer the company of people I know will not act like little kids and call people Noobs and, netspeak all the time. .. And act like they are internet tough guys. Which pretty much makes up 95% of Maple Story. |

Eh. I used to play. I was a little obsessed at one point. Then one day I logged in and started up my Page... and I was staring at a load of 2D pictures. I had a message from some idiot I can't remember and my guild was filled with Sins with names referencing Naruto. I realised I'd wasted whole days of my life on this grind-fest.
I quit the guild, chucked a few items to my brother (who stopped playing shortly after, too, at about Level 50-something in a guild of really good people) and never looked back. I'd played on both Europe and "Global" extremely on and off for a few years (although my highest level was 35 and I never really got to grips with the community) and I'd been through a lot of characters. I just realised how boring the game was. Not to mention the dire "community" of selfish pre-teens and low-intelligence scammers. Been trying for a replacement MMORPG for a while now. They all require either decent systems or subscription fees. No thanks. I think I'll try WoW when my PC gets upgraded, but I literally cannot pay for subscription fees until at least Summer. -------------------- |

Wow!
I didnt think Maplestrory is world game. I'm Korean and Maple is created by Korean Co.NEXON My level is 96 and thief-시프마스터(I don't know its english name.) It is great game! BGM Graphic stroy quest... but these days I donot play it. It's so boring  i'm tired to level up my char.

It's hard to explain. Monster and Me was an excellent game. Excellent graphics, Excellent play. But, hackers and scammers slowly began to flood the game. It became so bad that not just I, but, many others left as well. The same company that made Monster and Me is making Way of the five. It looks like a good game.
My only fear is, that the hackers and scammers from monster and me will come switch over and flood the new game. But, it can't be helped if it does happen. I was wrong about it supposedly coming out this month. They said it would but, It seems that they didn't even begin translating from the Chinese version. :\ |

I played, still am, but occasionally. I got addicted to other games, like this one. So, when I have the chance to play it I will. And Rotom Havoc is right, only 90 days?!

I played years ago, trying to re-start a few months ago, and now I do not have the time anymore T_T
