Whoo, right as I'm replaying the first one.
If my computer can run this and I can tear up Pandora with explosive sniper rifles (or any other of the 87 bajillion guns), I will be satisfied. It'll be interesting to know what became of everyone from the first game... I kinda want to know what'll happen to the corporations, too. Also I am torn between Zero and Maya. They both look like my type of character. ;___; -------------------- |

Hot damn.
I'm probably going to stay undecided until we find out more about the skill trees, but based off of the trailer I'm really liking Zero and Axton. As long as I can pewpew snipe people from across the map then I'm fine. Although if Zero is built to be very close ranged then I can live with that, shotguns in Borderlands 1 were pretty fun to use anyways. And oh god that flying vehicle. If you seriously get to control that and can have one that fits multiple people, with gun turrets... Yeah I think this is definitely going to be a pre-order once it gets closer to September. -------------------- [align=center]

I'm personally looking forward to Axton, who looks like this game's Soldier class. It makes me all giddy inside, as I love being the supporting classes.
Oh! We got news on Maya's Action Skill, thanks to IGN Xbox 360. Her ability is Phaselock, which enables her to trap an enemy in time essentially, making them completely useless for the duration of Phaselock. I think that looks pretty awesome, personally. -------------------- |

Little snippet of info on Axton. Character class is called The Commando, basically confirmed to be a Soldier 2.0 with focus on turret customization. UPDATE: http://www.vg247.com/2012/02/25/the-assass...-borderlands-2/ So apparently Zero is called "Zer0" (derp), class title is "The Assassin" and he sounds totally awesome. I'm definitely going to be playing as him. He's basically what we were expecting, stealth + melee. Can't switch swords though, which kind of sucks but it improves as you level anyways. According to the article that's linked within the article I linked, more damage is dealt depending on how long you've been cloaked for (or how close you are to de-cloaking, I can't remember). Basically, well-timed cloaks = hard-hitting crits. Oh and they say he's well-suited for sniping too. I'm definitely thinking sniper-shotty combo when I play as him. Axton makes me all giddy inside. He's definitely the class I'll be playing as. And personally, just looking as Zer0's slender figure, I had already figured he'd be this game's Mordecai. I'm still going to pick Axton, personally though, as he fits my playstyle more from the sounds of it. I'm willing to give almost every character class a good try though (guess which one I'm not :D)

Ah shit. I can see some deadly ass Claptrap DLCs here. Like Letan said, Most def' playing as Zero. Me and my dad will be debating who will be Axton - Zero. Doktah Zed? Yes, Please. How about a Acidic Incendiary 3 Shot Rocket Launcher? Ah yeah. I'm one of those players who will be support and take up top with a Sniper Rifle.

Well that is a huge, huge surprise. Apparently she's free if you pre-order, and if not then you can buy it for obligatory MS Points, etc. Don't think I'll play as her though, I'm still sold on Zer0. http://kotaku.com/5900178/borderlands-2-ne...r-customization Also, character customization is a lot deeper now. You can get outfit pieces from leveling and doing quests, according to the article, and if you have a Borderlands save you can get some extra stuff. There's also two special editions that got announced but I'm probably not buying either, just going for standard on this one. I will admit that the $150 one is pretty damn awesome. -------------------- [align=center]

Due to the inactivity of this thread, but the upcoming launch of Borderlands 2, I figured now would be a good time to revive this thread. To promote the launch, I have updated the opening post with a bunch more information than I had there originally. Last time it was updated was back in early April. YIKES!
Hope you all enjoy the new content, and hope conversation bursts forth from this. I'll start, seeing as I brought the topic back from the grave essentially. Gaige looks AMAZING! I am so stoked to play as her. With her Best Friends Forever skill tree being a shooter assistant, and her Chaos tree or whatever its called being geared to pros of the game, I'm looking forward to trying her out. Admittedly a little off-topic, but I can see why so many people used Mordecai now in the first Borderlands, due to Bloodwing. Thing's saved me countless times. Due to this, I might actually do a Zer0 playthrough on my own, seeing as anyone I plan on playing with is going to be Zer0 <__<;; Oh well. I'll stick to my Axton. Speaking of Axton, he's got major buffs. First off, that 48 second cooldown for his turret? YES PLEASE. Not to mention all the cool stuff that it can e upgraded to do. Definitely a major asset to any team, I think. -------------------- |

B...but imagine the possibilities of two Zer0s just running around the battlefield racking up insta-kills on everything. After seeing a lot more of the skill tree stuff, I'm 100% sold on playing as Zer0 with focusing my skill points in his cloaking abilities for crowd control and in sniping for bosses and tougher enemies. I really like how they're making skill options based around dealing with large amounts of enemies. Makes me curious to see how many we'll be fighting at any given time, but based on footage it seems to be quite plentiful, which is why I want to put some focus on crowd control. -------------------- [align=center]

As much as I'd love that, anyone I'll be potentially playing with told me I can't play as him with them I'm more surprised by how small the cooldowns are in this game. Roland had a 100 second cooldown before he could deploy his crap-ass Scorpio Turret. It's only useful if the stupid enemies are in front of it. Behind it and it's useless. This is comparable to Axton's Sabre Turret which has a cooldown of 48 seconds or so (Less than Brick's Berserker cooldown normally, to put it into retrospective!), along with the capability to pick the turret up whenever? They're definitely going for faster paced gaming. I mean, I've seen some guns at Level 30 in videos sitting at 1530 or something, which you wouldn't see in the normal Borderlands. And Shields at higher levels than my shield on my 69, as well as more health, even with maxed HP boosts on him! This game's all about the bloodshed, it would seem. Looking forward to it. I even preordered it on Steam, and I'm super excited. Why can't it come faster so I can drown in all the bloodshed? -------------------- |

Okay so, game's out in... *checks watch* Like, 24 hours essentially. Give or take a couple of hours. That's pretty frigging awesome. I changed my character choice now at the last second. I'm going to be Maya. She just has assets that a team definitely needs (Not THOSE kinds of assets. >B( ), such as healing and dishing out the elemental pain.
I'm going to be rocking both the elements and the recovery, as I feel it'll benefit the team more, as well as having access to a power that basically immobilizes an enemy, and if it an't, then it dishes out substantial pain. That's awesome. While talking about the lands that require borders, I must ask this: With Gaige the Mechromancer, the first DLC character for the Borderlands franchise, coming out in a month from today, what kinds of DLC characters would you like to see? What kinds of skills would they carry? What would you think their appearance to be? Their background? -------------------- |
