SR Shiny Legendary in SS questions, Latias sprite |

Alright, So from the last event I got the stone to get the Latias. I really want a shiny Latios but one thing at a time.
I am currently soft Resetting but I had some questions as I've never SR before. I saved a few feet away from the Latias and I am curious as to if the sprite will be shiny or if I have to enter the battle to tell. Also, since I saved when I was in view of the sprite did I ruin my chances at getting a shiny? I'm afraid that since the game loads with it already there there is only that one latias. Overworld sprites are never shiny, unless they're the follower ones from HG/SS. Also, you can go ahead and save while standing directly in front of it (which is highly recommended, as it saves time). It won't ruin your chances at all. The games only calculate whether or not a Pokemon is shiny once the battle is initiated.

Alright so its srpite wont be shiny till I capture it? It is in Soul Silver
