Since I'm going to be busy all weekend, I'll have to start this a few days early. Oh well.
As many of you will recall, we did a Secret Santa around Christmas time last year, wherein members would deposit a Pokemon and have it exchanged with another user's Pokemon. We're going to be now reusing this concept and doing another one now in honour of my birthday, but with a few refinements. How it'll work is as follows: you deposit one of your hatched Pokemon into the Exchange, which will then be reverted to its egg. You'll also be awarded a number of points based on the rarity of what you deposit, and if it's breedable or not. When the Exchange takes place, which will be in the evening of August 3rd most likely, your Pokemon will be given to another member who deposited something of the same rarity, and the same will be given to you. While your Pokemon is in the Exchange, your party will be reduced to a maximum of five Pokemon. There will, of course, be several changes this time around: - First of all, the Exchange will *attempt* to give you an egg (key word being egg - meaning, if you've had the hatched form but not the egg, it's then fair game) you've never obtained before. I say attempt, because in many cases, this just isn't necessarily possible. For example, if 100 people deposit commons and only need Ditto, but only one Ditto is deposited, then that one Ditto can't realistically be given to all 100 members - only one will get the Ditto, and then the others will get something they've already obtained. - The order in which members are given their eggs won't be totally random this time - rather, it'll be based on two factors. First, how active you are on the site the day before the Exchange (being August 2nd), and second, the order in which you deposit your Pokemon, the first people to do so having priority over the people who do so later on. To help give you that extra push to be extra active on the 2nd, it'll also be a x2 day. - This time, summonable legendaries as well as Manaphy will be considered to have a separate rarity from the rest of the legendaries, as they all have limited availability at present. And as a bonus, whoever ends up getting whatever it is I enter will be in for a special surprise. But I won't say what it is, so it's up to you to guess what rarity to go for. You can deposit any Pokemon that's in your party, from the "Birthday Exchange" option in the drop-down. Good luck to everyone who enters, yup yup. UPDATE: Made a mistake, double day will be the 2nd, and distribution will be on the 3rd. This post has been edited by Icicle: Aug 3 2010, 07:46 AM -------------------- |

Hm, wonder if I have anything good to put in. Nice idea, anyway. I liked it the first time around, and I imagine that this time'll be the same. I like the mentioned tweaks, too - makes it "fairer", I guess.
