Rules

• Regular forum rules still apply here. Basically don't double post. Don't ask for clicks every time you fill your party. Unless it gets out of hand*, I'm okay with you linking to an exploration Pokemon who needs a specific berry.
  
  *out of hand meaning I don't want to see Pokémon being linked just for leveling or if they need drinks for happiness. These kinds of interactions can be handled just fine by being in your parties and signatures.
  
  
• Do not post your shinies here, there's a http://forums.gtsplus.net/index.php?showtopic=5491 for that. Discussing them is OK though! Just make sure you add content to your post.
  
  
• Make sure your post contains worthwhile content. If you're posting an exploration Pokémon to be fed berries then be sure to add other content to your post. Same with discussing shinies. Find people to reply to or start a discussion yourself! Your post must, with the shiny portion and berry feeding hypothetically removed*, not read as if you're talking to yourself. To clarify, your post should not be an out-loud thought to yourself, and should contain more general discussion than just information on your current shiny luck.
  
  *if you were to read your post, skipping over any mention of shinies, the post should still sound like a good post.
  
  If any posts are found breaking this rule then they will be instantly deleted and handed a 10% warn.
  
  
• Do not post your GPX+ gear grinders in this thread either. There's also a http://forums.gtsplus.net/index.php?showtopic=49472 for that. This is mostly for raging at staff or site events that you don't like.

Monthly Raffle

Nominations are now gone, and I'm using post count to determine how many entries you have into the raffle. The first 19 posts you have will count as one entry, and every ten after that will count as an extra. Think of it as the first number of your post count is how many entries you have. To see what your post count is, click on the number of replies any certain thread has. Nothing else on the site will influence the amount of entries you receive, so if you'd like a chance to win, then post here frequently!

The raffle is what chooses who gets to choose what's in next month's egg distribution. There are no other site advantages other than that, and even then the whole site gets a chance at that Pokémon that you chose!

How to get an egg from this event

• You must keep at least one slot open in your party.
• You MUST have logged in sometime on GPX+ in the last two weeks.
• You can not be in the restricted group.

IMPORTANT EVENT NOTES

1. No, you do NOT have to be online at the time I am sending out eggs.
2. These eggs do NOT show up in the Lab for the event. They are sent out randomly.
3. There is ONE set shiny for each Pokémon, but every other egg has a regular chance of being shiny.
4. If you obtain ONE of the eggs from this event, you will NOT be able to obtain another one from this same event. This means if you get an egg on day 1 of this event, you can't get an event egg from any other day during this event. By the way, abandoning an event egg does nothing. So if you get one you might as well keep it and be happy.
5. If we find any accounts being made just to get eggs from the event then they will be immediately banned along with your main.
6. If you were a winner of the raffle, your chosen Pokémon will be spawned into your party on the day of the event. It won't be forced shiny, but there's always a small chance just like any other egg! This will not count as an event egg and you can still receive one from the event.
7. There is no guarantee that you'll receive an egg.
8. Eggs chosen will not be available to pick from again for 3 months. If x egg was in the January egg distribution, then it can not be chosen again until April.
9. The event runs at 4 p.m. server time.

Event dates and what's being handed out

• November 2nd: Raikou - Winner: x Sam - 200 eggs
• November 3rd: Cosmog - Winner: Jade - 200 eggs
• November 4th: Shadow Lugia - Winner: Alchemists Fire - 200 eggs
• November 5th: Landorus - 200 eggs
• November 6th: Cresselia - 200 eggs

Oooh, dang, I gotta hurry and finish DOTW - I like this month's explorations. Yeesh. Feeling the pressure.

I hope everyone had a good Halloween! I handed out candy. Not to sound curmudgeony, but it was kinda unsatisfying - most kids were ungrateful, moreso than I noticed in past years. I got very few 'thank yous' - a lot of them didn't even bother saying 'trick or treat', they just rang and waited silently for candy. :| There was also something where my mom had bought two coloring books in addition to candy for the next door neighbors' three-year-olds. Halfway down the driveway, one of them took the book out, threw it on the ground, and stomped on it before leaving. Seriously? I can get not wanting it, but...

So it was an awkward night, but I love the leftovers.

Think I'm going to go for Cosmog - I don't have one yet. Though if I fail, that TBD could be interesting.

Looks like I'm going after a Raikou for the distribution this month. I like any of the choices but I'll make sure to keep my party open to try and get Raikou.

We didn't get any kids for Halloween, it got cancelled because we were getting hurricane force winds. They plan on having it today instead so it'll be busy. We probably won't get many kids this year, so I'll be eating most of the leftover candy.

November! The month of another SWSH, feast day, National Novel Writing Month, and when fall classes get iffy.

I'm interested to see what pokemon pops up for day three. Not sure what I'll go for yet.

As for trick-or-treaters, I was all ready for them, but Halloween got rained out

Halloween was quiet, since the kids aren't allowed to go door-to-door being in apartments and all, eheheh. I didn't really get to do much regardless since my wifi is fighting me, and I wasted two hours looking up fan-art of a book series I'm re-reading.

I'm gonna try for Cresselia, if I can remind myself to leave a spot open, unlike last month.

@Alex i know how you feel. I'm going to speed run the bird trio exploration and one of the other three before starting TBD. Hopefully I can finish it this month. If not, I'll at least have my legendary explorations done.

I took advantage of the pass power and successfully summoned three legendaries with ~750 eggs in the lab. I accidentally poached another one too while looking for the same legendary I was summoning. Here's hoping it doesn't hatch shiny so I don't need to feel bad.

Oh, yeah, it is NaNoWriMo, isn't it? Dang, now I need to get back to work. I plan on putting 50k down for my fanfic this month. Hopefully I can muster up some inspiration in short order.

I didn't even notice the summon power was up today, but I'll take it. I just summoned a Dialga and I was wondering when I'd activated it, so that makes sense. I'll summon a few more in the morning - the scavenger hunt gave me five adamant orbs' worth of points and the hunt must go on. 750 eggs isn't too bad, but it's not good, either. My 'nope' limit is 900 eggs; I won't summon over that. 600- is the best. I do like how the average number of eggs in the lab recently decreased - it had been steadily climbing, but now it's back to 400 on a non-multi day.

Hard to believe that it's November already. Soon enough it will be Thanksgiving and then Christmas! As for Halloween, not much happened where I was. We weren't really in the mood to hand out candy. We haven't in years.

I'm doing the Reshiram/Zekrom exploration and I'm at a standstill at the moment thanks to a certain task.

Wow, November already? Damn 2017 has gone quick.

Managed to get off to a great start though....

Found a Cypress-bred Victini in the shelter. Think this is only my second Cypress legendary so pretty hyped about that. Think I'm gonna wait and see what the TBD egg is, since the rest I have or can get through explorations that I still need to do.

November is a pretty good month for me since I'll be seeing the Pokémon movie AND my figure will arrive this month <3

I'm so intrigued by that Mystery Egg or whatever that is. I think I'm gonna try for that one. Also, I love the Sp. Explorations, I really want to do the Meloetta one, but I haven't met all the requirements for it yet, maybe I'll just go with Reshiram/Zekrom and the Bird Trio explos.

Azriel had a great Halloween/ Birthday. He opened his presents first thing. We got him a blind bag imaginext super hero/villan figure and a lego batman set. It has a boat that really floats, batman and Mr Freeze. He loves legos so much. Then we went to toys r us and he got two blind bag lego batman figures. Turned out to be Wolverine Batman and inner tube duck swimming Batman. We set our jack o lanterns out front with a bowl of candy in case anyone came by and we went trick or tricking for a little over an hour until he said he was done. It was chilly and his hands were cold. Need to bring gloves next year.

There were some pretty cool costumes and some awesome decorations. A pair of ladies had their house completely decorated with witches, bats, spider eggs sacks and it was just amazing looking. They even dressed up as wiccans.

We did a new thing this year kind of like the switch witch but my own spin. We told him about Sam (look him up he's in the movie Trick r Treat) where you have to leave him candy and he leaves a Halloween themed item behind. Since Halloween is a feast where the dead are honored and that's why we dress up and hand out candy since that's when the dead are among us I came up with a spirit coming to visit and you have to leave him candy to appease him. It helps since Azriel has a cashew allergy and most candy is not safe for him to eat. He gets to give away some that he can't eat. I was actually surprised at how much candy was given out that he could have. Plus he got some Halloween fruit snack, pretzels and cheese balls. Sam left him a pirate skeleton for the candy that was left. He was so excited

Probably going to do some pokemon go today since the event is almost over. I almost have enough poke coins to get the box I want to get with the incubator in it. I need to find more sableye as well. I only have one. It's one of my favorites. Does anyone know if it only shows up at night?

I just voted for three Gen VII Pokemon I don't have yet, per usual. I should focus on that more.

I think this is the first time I'm genuinely stuck on task 3 of the Reshiram/Zekrom exploration. I started it not long after reset and I couldn't find any of the specific Pokemon anywhere, and a lot of other people are having that problem too.

I guess I'm not going to power through the rest of this exploration tonight. I need to have these three Pokemon in my party + the extra slot. My mobile walker is already full and I don't like abandoning eggs so I'll have to wait this one out. At least I already have the three Pokemon ready I guess.

it's hard to believe it's almost the end of 2017, and november is my birthday month. i had a nice spate of shiny pokemon last month so hopefully that continues. hoping for Cosmog but keeping my party open today too just in Raikou wants to come home.

I voted for Vullaby, Yamask, and Woobat. Looking back, I kinda wish I had chosen Gastly, since I love its shiny form, but what's done is done. Now the big challenge for me will be doing the site-wide hunt alongside my three current shiny races :P

It'll be challenging trying to do three shiny hunts at once, but at least I won't have much trouble getting the eggs I need. I have Type: Null in the Daycare, and I'll get eggs for Rockruff and the site-wide hunt from the Shelter and Lab (Groudon will have to wait for now).

Yes I chose Groudon for a shiny race. I must be insane.

Bleh. I should be writing. Yet I am not. I need to get off Terraria and onto Microsoft Word.

Is anyone noticing anything strange with summoning lately? I can't call a pattern on just two eggs, but both times (with 650 and 550 eggs in the lab respectively), I used summon power as usual, but while I was refreshing for my summon - they only showed up after the ten minutes had been expended. That's a thing that happens, but not usually while the number of eggs in the lab is so low - and in the second case, it showed up twice in pretty frequent time, since I refreshed over it the first time. It's still well within the bounds of coincidence, which is why I'm asking around.

It's probably just bad luck, but it can't hurt to ask - we have had problems in the past with summon items working incorrectly. Shrug.

I've got no preference on the SWSH - I can't even remember what has and hasn't been run at this point. I wonder if we should start allowing reruns, now or eventually. Some of the SWSHs were six years ago. Maybe turn the flat ban on previous selections into a several-years-long cooldown?

I got plagued with the infamous 7+ party again. Shelter glitched out and gave me seven eggs when I specifically only left five spaces open so I could breeze through the end of this explo. These birdos most really not want me to own them.

I ended up picking Stufful as my third option. Gold shinies are top tier. I took a break from shelter stalking and finally accomplished my short time goal of getting to .500 with all of the Cypress NPCs.

Can't believe it's already USUM's release month. When it was announced it seemed so far away from me... now it's in like... 14 days??
I'm sad how time flies.

Anyway, I can't wait for the release of the new card captor sakura clean card arc! and the anime will start in january, I hope I'll find a link to watch it <3 20 years! I feel so old T___T

I'd say keep an eye on the myanimelist (MAL) entry for the show.
At the bottom of most page entries it shows what places and people viewers prefer for each show with some sort of upvote-downvote system.

I grabbed the Timburr I needed for this exploration and I hatched a few to release later. Thanks to anyone who are helping others complete that task. I finished both of my monthly explos so I'm going to start TBD. My plan is to finish it this month, but we'll see how that goes. If anyone needs Timburr for that task, feel free to message me. I think I have five at the moment.

I got rank 3 in the weekly pokehunt. That was quite a pleasant surprise.

Dumb question: does rank 3 mean my poke mon actually placed third out of all the ones submitted?

There are four tiers - rank 1, rank 2, rank 3, and unranked. Getting a rank one worthy Pokemon takes a lot of luck because you need high IVs, high rarity, and high egg maturity. People post their results in https://forums.gpx.plus/index.php?showtopic=62487 if you want a general guide on what you need. The two from this week both had 150+ IV Pokemon for rank one.

I didn't get Raikou yesterday, the one I preferred to get, but I did get Cosmog. It'll probably be evolved into a Solgaleo if it hatches shiny(a BIG if, it won't happen).

My Metagross ranked 1st for the Poke Hunt this time. I already have the Iron Plate but the prize points are good. I still need to save up for another Legend Voucher so I can finish the Tapus.

Got raikou like I wanted. It wasn't shiny. Maybe one of these days. I voted for snorunt, kabuto and skarmory for the swsh. I already have a shiny froslass but can go for glalie and make it a mega.

Is there anyone who is in need of some trinkets? I'm looking for someone to swap trinkets with. I'm missing quite a few and it would be easier if I had someone to trade with instead of making offers on the market and waiting especially with the high number I need.

I voted for Jangmo-o, Wishiwashi, and Drampa for the SWSH. I'm really wanting more shiny dragons.

I didn't get Raikou, but I forgot to leave a space open for Cosmog. Gah. Well, I'll try for Cresselia on the 6th... if I remember to fill my party until then and then leave a space open for it.

November already. Sigh. Wish it actually felt like it here, but it looks like we're in for warm winters from now on down here in Houston. :/ So much for a reprieve from the heat.

Forgot to talk about Halloween. It was... not that great here this year. We didn't get many people last year trick or treating, but this year, it was like... three parties of people. Would have been four, but they didn't bother ringing the doorbell for some reason. I think the light rain also prevented people from going out, but it doesn't help that we're in a not-so-prime location for large crowds to show up. Oh well. Groudon's a little less effort to obtain, though, so you should have an easier time. And hey, you never know! You seem to have a lot of difficult hunts right now - Type: Null takes a long time to hatch. I salute your tenacity.

And speaking of, I wished I'd waited for the TBD! I love Shadow Lugia. I also have a hunt for that, though it's lower-key, as I prioritize adamant orbs with my prize points.

I wish I hadn't - my shine recorder is about 2/3 full with novelty hunts, which makes sweet honey not so useful for variety - but no point backing out now.

Correct. This is a monthly thing, and the eggs that get distributed are fully dependent upon who wins the monthly raffles. When the new month comes around, check the second post of the Community Thread to see what egg is released on which date. That way you can plan for one and either leave a spot open or fill your party. Of course, that doesn't guarantee an egg, but you can at least try for what you want.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the same exploration Pokemon twice, but my Snorlax is still at 25% (375 sour berries to go) if anyone wants to help out.

I'm thinking about building up my battle tower army to include some more Pokes. My general strategy has worked out pretty well so I'll probably continue it. Fast single type Pokemon with choice items are pretty dominant in most battles. It seems like most of my losses are from crits from not very effective attacks so I might need to bring in a tank or something.

I threw out an idea in the October thread on the last day, forgetting that the next day was November, so I figured I'd try again.

Some of us have noted how hard it can be to find certain eggs when only few (or no) people are breeding them. Obviously, you can breed whatever you're looking for yourself, but you only get one egg an hour. And it's generally much quicker to get a shiny when someone else is breeding because you can grab all their eggs (except the one they took) as opposed to the one of your you can take.

So long story short, my idea is to let us see and be able to grab eggs we donate to the Shelter! I imagine that would be easier to do than to create mission cards or a second Daycare slot. It would probably encourage people to breed unbred Pokemon because the effort would have a much more substantive payoff.

Same here. That problem goes on and off for me, sometimes for months long at a time. When I stop posting on the forums, that's usually why. It's horribly frustrating, though.

I ended up getting Raikou this month. Non-shiny, but that's to be expected. I would have preferred Cosmog or Shadow Lugia, but I do quite like Raikou - the legendary beasts are one of my favorite trios.

Someone posted in my suggestion about that, I passed it on and it got declined. We have no plans to remove the feature on being able to see your own eggs in the shelter.

I got the Landorus egg, my own Raikou wasn't shiny unfortunately. Maybe soon!

I've seen a few people ask about the Zygarde forms - regarding those they'll be along soon I promise. I've had a lot of.. unfortunate things happen IRL requiring me to pick up more hours at work, and on top of university deadlines I haven't had the spare time to get them done. The plan originally was for them to be out pretty soon though.

tl;dr my kitchen pipework blew up 2 weeks before rent was due, rent money went on fixing pipework. Put two and two together.

And just to be sure - yes, you can summon multiple per day now. I knew about the removed per day limit, but I really want to be certain of the 'can see with 3+ leg/nov eggs in party' limit as well. You can never be too sure with summoning because it's difficult to test for yourself - maybe you can't see the egg at all, maybe it's just bad luck.

Unrelatedly, I was clicking through my berry feeder and I just saw the following three status messages in a row.

Yes the 3 limit is removed too. That's what I meant. You could always summon as many as you want in a day but 3 prevented you from getting them.

These limits have been removed so you can grab as many as you want at any given time (i.e full party and mobile walker if you wanted)

So can grab as many from the shelter/lab (no more limited to 2) - and you can have as many in your party as you want.

Decided to check out, yes, handheld mode. Because up until now I actually haven't tried playing handheld.

It's just a collection of pictures and quotes but it's Grumpy Cat and I love that thing

Congrats you two. I hatched a shiny Heatran (not even my own summon) over seven years ago and I've been looking for a second shiny legend ever since. They are pretty rare.

I hatched a guaranteed winner for the Pokehunt so I'm back to semi lurking while my Snorlax finishes being frozen. He got under 100 today so I'm hoping he can get out of my party tomorrow. I'll know there are more super feeding tasks after this, but progress is progress.

Well, I got a Cresselia as my giveaway Pokémon this month, but it wasn't shiny. Oh well.

I also saw the Pokémon I Choose You! movie and it was actually pretty good! Not the best Pokémon movie I've seen or anything, but it was fun and definitely made even better by the free TCG card and code that you get. I went alone, but I was surrounded by people who were really into it and thus didn't feel all weird going by myself. Not that there's anything weird about going alone, but I like to go with others to the Alamo Drafthouse. If anyone's not been there or heard of it, it's the type of theater where they serve food and drinks right at your seat. Definitely more of an experience that way.

In Pokémon GO-related news, I actually got an EX Raid Pass for a Mewtwo raid not too long ago, but it was for the state that I was vacationing in! That sucks as I couldn't go. Oh well. Next time!

I find myself wishing that the Berry Feeder had an option for 'click all but exploration pokemon.' I hate clicking them in fog and I already have a Novel Power active; I'd much rather save them until I can click them reliably.

I got first in the hunt with a last-minute 153-IV Flareon. For the first two days, I was hatching pokemon in the 50-70 range... then I popped out a 160-IV Ponyta, and while I was raising that, got two Eevees in the 140 range. That's the fourth flame shard down.

Not sure why I'm throwing a first gen thing into the mix, but I want an early fire type and Incineroar is not an option. (I hate it despite loving its pre-evos.)

For my usum party I'd like to have a powerful fire pokemon too, I like litten but incineroar is really ugly. Why don't they keep it like a cat more than a humanoid thing I would like to take rowlet too since I started with popplio last time but I also want a bounsweet in my party, so two grass-type is going to be too much. I'd like a snowy vulpix sooner before the elite 4 so I can better train her.

It can only be found on the ground, or Underground, or by hatching Minior. It's a Valuable Item so you've probably sold any you found before now (like everyone else did!).

I'm going for Minior as well, but it's still hard to get excited about an all-Alolan SWSH.

Cypress one gives a Tiny Mushroom, Cypress two gives a Stardust, and Cypress three gives a Big Pearl. Cypress two is actually the hardest from my experience. I only have a 66% win percentage on it with 68% on one and 96% on three. I should really try training some new Pokemon instead of trying to sweep with this team.

Was having trouble finding Bounsweet eggs at certain times, so I'm going to start breeding them.

Dedenne's finally history, and thanks for all the clicks! I think that was the quickest I've ever been rid of that mouse. Now for 40k clicks. And to top it off, I just got my first Ultra Wormhole! That icon sure did look intense.

6.4 isn't too bad. On that note, almost all of my shiny hunts are 8960+ right now. Yikes. At least Azurill's there to add some relief.

I'm stuck with five spots until this Kecleon gets another ~160 berries but I managed to luck out and hatch a shiny Minior earlier today. I also hatched a shiny Whismur a few minutes ago. I started that hunt back in March of 2016 and I didn't think I'd ever finish it.

Congrats to those who are hatching shinies, swsh or not, they are always welcome! I hatched my sh. Bounsweet today when I logged in, it was a great surprise. Now I'm hunting Minior, as I already have sh. Jangmo-o.

Tomorrow is my birthday and as I said before, my sister pre-ordered pokemon UM to give me as a present (and US for her to play). It will be a great present I'm sure but knowing portuguese companies, we won't get the games until tuesday or wednesday lol.

Are you all eager to play it as well?

I am curious about the changes in storyline but I've heard certain functions can get quite annoying, then there's the "lag" on older systems that I will have to cope with due to not having upgraded to a "new" handheld yet.

I don't like the "new" legendary forms either so I don't even know which version I /should/ pick up

Guess I'll just have to do my best to avoid spoilers until then.

I got myself a shiny Bounsweet and the Bounty Hunter achievement this morning. Against my better judgement, I've started a hunt for Jangmo-o. I also finally completed all the badge achievements today. Huzzah! A lot of the Pokémon have max or close to max happiness though, so I'm not going to release them until I get Happy Ending too.

10 k maturity eggs hunt isn't really as bad as it seems, even during the slow days. Now, something like Type Null may take forever.

I've heard having a n3ds for Gen 7 games doesn't really improve framerate that much. Shorter load times, and maybe slightly more stable during "heavy" battles like Totem and Doubles. That's pretty much it.

I have to wonder at this point, if salesman header can change into something different.

Yay, today's my 1 year anniversary on GPX ^^

My box event turned into the salesman... I've had a header event since Cosmog was introduced and I've still never had the Wormhole... Was hoping maybe today, but nope.

I've already got a Shiny Minior, so I'm hunting Jangmo-o. Makes me glad I have a long trip twice a week, cause I just pop 3 eggs in my Mobile Walker and they hatch themselves on the way to class and back xDDD But a multiplier day would still be nice...

Yeah, thanks whoever it was. I especially appreciate it because my exploration Pokemon went from 50+ berries needed to 20 berries needed since restart. I'm gonna to grind some battle tower Pokes to 100 and then try to get further through this exploration with the help of the multipliers. Hopefully I'll hatch a shiny for the hunt too, ofc.

Congrats on your anniversary, Alchemist. I've noticed a ton of players from 5+ years back are still here. Hopefully you stick around that long, too.

Yeah I got my Bounsweet early this morning which i ace as I have 8 deadlines due in the next 4-5 weeks so i need all the time devoted elsewhere I can get!

I don't suppose anybody here has any recipes (or know or some recipes) as to where I can find a decent fish curry? I have ~650 calories left to decide on so I've gone with this (to give me some more options for dinner) Chicken + veg + carb just ain't gonna cut it no more haha.

Chicken/Steak, veg + rice/potato, fish curry w potato, chicken + chorizo jambalaya (poss switching out rice for pasta occasionally)

Just gotta find everything for a decent price now

Picked up Ultra Sun today, haven't opened it yet due to having been really busy
I did get around to unpacking my new Nendoroid, she's a beauty <3
Spent about 15 minutes putting stickers on the lil car.
Well... little... it's bigger than her I believe
She also came with a keychain that has its own stand, kind of cute.

I'll be here for a whoooole week so I'll have plenty of time to play US
I plan on going out this Friday to score some neat lil bargains

My life lately has come in cycles of good stuff then bad stuff. Hubby got a forberance on his student loans til January so we will have extra money for Christmas along with all the overtime I'll be getting. However part of my exhaust fell off of my car. It's being held on by zip ties at the moment and will switch to metal ones soon. And I also found out that we have bed bugs that likely hitched a ride on me from work I've already found them in our bedroom,living room and our son's room. Started ordering some stuff to combat them and will have to get more come next paycheck. Pretty much messes up visiting family. Still doable but a pain in the ass. Don't want them to spread to their houses. I've only found babies and eggs so far and I am the only one getting bitten so I hope I can keep up with it. Good thing we don't plan on moving for a few years.

Managed to pull out a shiny Bounsweet on my last batch before I went to bed. That also put me over 250 eggs hatched for the day, so managed to finally unlock the achievement for that

Hopefully I can complete my Cyndaquil/Eevee hunt today, so I can get the achievement for 2 in one day.

Yesterday was a crazy hatching day for me as well, with 200 + eggs hatched, beating the record of 2013. Minior get, now onto Bounsweet. Doubt that i'll bother with Jangmo-o, even if things will be in my favor.

Have to wait until Tuesday for Ultra Sun. Looking forward to using some pokemon i didn't previously in Moon.

Good news, bad news time.

Good news: I hatched a shiny.
Bad news: It wasn't a SWSH shiny.
Good news: It WAS Flaming Zorua.
Bad news: I still need a fifth Novelty/Legendary Hunt to complete the Achievement.

Also, I need to find a False Swipe-esque pokemon for the Ultra games, since Hold Back Munchlax/Snorlax can't be bred to keep that move. I got my games together from GameStop. 200 free Poke Balls, 100 for each game. Haven't redeemed the codes yet, since I still need to reset my games four more times, and I don't want to waste the codes. Any idea which pokemon would fill that need?

Scrappy Pangoro is pretty good as False Swipe mon, that's what I used for SOS chaining and general capture in Moon. Just chain Pancham on Ula Ula and bring a ghost type pokemon out, once the chain hits 30 +. It also gets Entrainment for ability checking.

I'm 7 Bounsweet shy of 600 for this hunt. I also snagged the top spot for most eggs hatched in total for the SWSH so far. It doesn't look like I'll get a shiny Bounsweet during this plus streak, but at least the multipliers gave me motiviation for TBD. Almost done with task ten now.

I hit the 600 mark for my Bounsweet yesterday, but still no shiny yet. I'll probably go for Jangmo-o next. Dunno if I'm going to go for a fourth shiny, though. It seems like Wulfenite always has a big edge on entered players and Azurite can never really overcome that.

Huge problem I'm noticing is that up until today or so I've been the only active breeder since Nom's been busy and everyone that's been picking up my eggs has just been placing them into the PC after they hatch.

Uhhh alright I suppose, caught up with an anime called Konohana Kitan, then watched a bit more Re:Zero and played some UltraSun.
I couldn't find an electric or grass type so I caught a Zorua and threw that to WT.
First I got a Cubone, then a Solosis, aaaand to my utter surprise a
Used it for 1 battle then tossed it into GTS. I only need it for dex data anyway... I'm trying to get an Yveltal or a for it.

I don't think many people are that far in game yet though...

Yay, Honey+! Personally, I'm torn between breeding Alolan Meowth, Apricot Jump Karp or Mareanie [if I ever find one to begin with]. So my Daycare's empty for the first time in quite a while.

Also, this is kind of random, but have any of you ever tried to make cake in the microwave before? And I don't mean mug cakes, I mean layer cake. I'm testing out some recipes I found.

Well, my Bounsweet hunt is officially over 700 eggs. 2/3 of my hunts that lasted over 1k eggs were SWSH Pokemon - including a Beldum hunt that took 1210 eggs to complete. That feels like a lifetime ago. Hopefully this doesn't become one of those hunts.

Along with no shiny minor, none have hatched with stardust either. So if i do hatch a shiny it'll look like a regular minor anyway :p

Now that it's the next day, I hope that those who celebrated had a good Thankgiving. I think we're having leftovers for a couple of days. Dessert ended up being a pumpkin pie with cinnamon vanilla ice cream, and it was delicious. There's also some rather fancy pecan pie in the fridge, but as good as it is, I do prefer pumpkin.

I'm just... gonna chill today and not bother going to any stores. Black Friday doesn't appeal to me since I don't need half the stuff advertised and just don't wanna be around crowds. I heard that it's not too bad around here, though.

There's a general question forum, and a quick question, quick answer thread. But to answer your ask, I would presume that they wouldn't count since the Achievement was added way before the code for Alolan Grimer/Muk was added to the site. So I think you have to use regular Grimer for it to work.

Popping in here to say that I've never heard of Apple Pecan Caramel pie before, but with a name like that, it sounds really good! Too bad I've never been able to eat pecans because of food allergies, but still. Can't go wrong with apples or caramel.

Also, torn whether to go for Summon the Hero or The Three Singing Chatot. Don't have Reshiram yet, and I still need one of the birds to test out whether or not just having a Pokemon with the "obtained from Exploration by X" marker counts for that Achievement.

Hoping at least something I'm hunting hatches shiny within the next few days, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to win this month's SWSH but a Shard of any kind would be nice at this point. Also, realized I have to do the Deoxys explo 2 more times to get all the Egg and Dex data, unless there's an event. Hope Aurora weather comes back soon.

I don't think time limit applies to challenging explorations like TBD and DOTW. Only monthly legendaries. For expired explorations, the grace period is around two weeks.

Woke up this morning to a Shiny Minior. First time I have completed a SWSH on time in a long time.

Edit: Also, got a Shiny Magikarp as well. Definitely a "Lucky Day" if i do say so. Maybe i should push my Luck and go for a third shiny

I'm almost 100% that you can take as long as you need for "DotW". Never tried "TBD" so i cant say anything about it, though

Yes, only Special Explorations have the time limit. You can spend as long as you need on regular ones (like TBD and DotW).

Oh, no, you can take as long as you want on those ones. I think I took over a year on DotW once due to a hiatus. It's just the monthly ones, as well as Christmas/Halloween specials, that get cut off.

When DotW was first released, I've seen rumors that the reason DotW doesn't have longer times listed is because some people like me take forever to complete it and then mess up the average.
Although I have no idea how much of that is true and how much of that was just "dissing" XD

For special explorations, you have the whole month and 2 weeks into the new month to finish your current one I believe

The same could be said of basically any exploration, at least the ones that aren't monthly. Like, I could take months on Mystery Creature of the Ruins if I was that aimless and/or not present on the site. It'd be artificial slowness at that point, mostly caused by ignoring the exploration, but it's still possible (and for new players, not necessarily unlikely.) And DoTW and TBD do both take a very long time to do; if you're a casual player only, they will take you months. Hell, I spend well over a week on that Dedenne task alone if I don't post it on the community thread (that speeds it up to maybe five days), and I'm a decent clicker when motivated. TBD has three of those. So I don't see a reason to alter their measurements to take only the speedy runs. To me, this seems more like a glitch in the system than something intentional, because if it's intentional, that's just stupid.

I started this explo after I finished my two monthly ones, so I must be 3 weeks in or so. I'd argue that TBD is the hardest exploration just because of the three berry feeding tasks. DoTW does have the infamous party locked task, but you can just grind through it if you have the Exp. All.

TBD is no doubt the toughest exploration on the site. It is brutal and for good reason. Sure, some tasks on DotW are not fun (unless you have a specific item to help you), but the sheer tedium of waiting for berry feedings is by itself a marker of great difficulty. I'm glad to never have to do that one again!

And yeah, I feel like the 1 month and 23 days thing was just an arbitrary number that was put in for exploration length. I wouldn't mind seeing just how long some people take with TBD/DotW, though... I know people have taken over a year for each.

Some day, I will tackle That Everlasting Flame. But that day is not today, and given how TDB will lock me up for well over a month and I like those monthly explorations, I don't see it happening anytime soon. I don't mind horrible lengthy explorations for rewards, but TDB is quite intentionally a joke and I like cracking open legendaries too much to lock myself up like that.

Wow, found a Giratina egg that was in the lab for over an hour. Sorry to whoever I poached it from, but I daresay you had plenty of time, especially with only seven hundred eggs around. I found my summon in a minute.

I don't see myself starting on That Everlasting Flame all that soon, either. I like being able to have free Party slots and such. Plus, I rarely use Flame Orbs anyways, so there's another reason for me to not need to do the Exploration anytime soon. Also, everything gets far more tedious on non-multiplier days, and there's a lot of those..

I finished my SWSH hunt a while ago, my Minior appeared after 318 eggs. I didn't bother trying to get a bunch of shinies for the SWSH, one is enough to get the prize. I didn't have a lot of time to really hatch eggs, work has gotten busy because of the Christmas rush. I was surprised I finished it at all to be honest . My latest shiny hatched is my shiny Toxapex. I started the hunt shortly after it was released to the site and it only took me 38 eggs. It was quite the surprise actually, I didn't think it would be as fast as it was.

I've been passing the time playing Ultra Moon hunting for some shinies. Will post spoilers in the spoiler tags just in case there are people who don't have the game yet.

I will say shiny hunting in USUM is pretty fun, that's all I've been doing since I beat the final Grand Trial. I will say that I'm really loving the game so far, I went into it knowing very little about it. I found the game a lot more fun that Sun/Moon, mainly because I barely knew anything about it. Granted, it is pretty much the same thing but all the new things they added made it a lot more fun.

Gah, the shiny hunter in me is screaming with excitement, but where I live, US/UM are both around $50. And I don't think I can renew my Pokebank subscription anytime soon, so I can't just port some of my favorite mons over and have a go at it even if it was in my purchase range. Alolan Pokemon are so damned slow naturally [so I gave up on Moon]. ;~;

Also, really loving the colors they gave shiny Poipole! We need more gold shiny Pokemon, in my opinion. Which reminds me, all of my shiny Pokemon except a Ho-Oh, Hoothoot, and a Bonsly are stuck on my old X cartridge.

I decided to use one of my vouchers to get a Brown Magikarp because I haven't seen a single one in the shelter. Took out my Mareanie pairs for now to breed some Brown Karp. I want to switch back to my Zygarde pair eventually but I've already missed out on two of my bred shinies so I might just pick up shelter eggs. In other news, I'll be on the final task of TBD once I can get this Togepi evolved. I'm so glad I'm done with the berry feeding tasks.

I've gone into ugh mode right now, finished both explorations and the swsh (got my bounsweet fairly early), second swsh of minior is taking its time. I probably won't finish it soon but who knows.

I thought my open book test was tomorrow at 3pm but turns out it's today at 3pm so I've had to dig out my notes early. Not too bad so I should be ok. It was an interesting module although I failed one of the assignments (it was 4 tests we had to analyse, I got 30 in one of them and 40 is a pass) but I'm not a statistician at all so it's something to work on.

Open book test today is on Molecular Genetics, we looked at our own ancestral path based on mutations in the D-Loop of our mtDNA and wrote a report on it; pretty nifty! We also did one based on transgenic bacteria taking up fluorescent plasmids. I have a deadline every week now and it's just urgh.

I have a deadline on Thursday and one on Friday, one next Friday 7th and then one on the 14th and one on the 15th.

Soft resetting for either shiny starter or legendary is something i never have enough patience for. I prefer PokeRadar chaining, SOS chaining, and Masuda method breeding. Although, it gets boring fast with latter, as well.

I don't have any 6th or 7th gen games, but chaining was my favorite method for shiny obtainment. It was grindy, but it was predictable. I failed often, but with enough perseverance, you'd get that shiny, and that was such a gratifying feeling.

Berry to Dedenne! Good luck. (Does anyone know what dictates which Arceus you're getting? I always seem to get the plate with the lowest alphabetical index.)

Three days now. Still no bite on the matchmaking request. That's just bizarre.

I still need Bulu for those ones, but honestly, even with one of every legendary, I'd still vastly prefer to do two monthlies than get stuck on TDB for about two months. Hatching legendaries, even random ones, are one of the few excitements left to me on this site. Not giving that up for Flame Orbs, which I barely have a use for anyway. (Sweet Honey, maybe then we could talk.)

Semi-relatedly, does anyone else feel bad hatching and instantly releasing a legendary after an exploration? Since they nearly all end with you vowing to take great care of this new powerful egg and becoming the best of friends with it. Or safeguarding it. Or whatever. It occurs to me that I am not a very good trainer.

Though it's even worse when I end up corrupting them. 'Yeah, I'll protect this Adamant Orb from anyone who wants to abuse it!' Cue evil Dialgas popping up all over the place.

Regarding shiny hunting, I'm only really a fan of super straight forward shiny hunting methods while using the Shiny Charm. So basically the Friend Safaris and SOS stuff. Hatching eggs with the Masuda Method is okay, too, but it gets too repetitive for me, and so does soft resetting. Actually, they're all pretty repetitive for me... I'm just not that patient, I guess. Definitely not a fan of the Poké Radar as I was never good at it and it involved too much... well, thinking.

Dessert places in NorCal? Well, I've only been to the Bay Area and could recommend a few places there. Bi-Rite Creamery and Humphry Slocombe in SF are both excellent, and Fenton's over in Oakland is great, too. But it's hard to go wrong with any non-chain place over there.

@Synx Itax : I've tried a few Humphry Slocombe ice creams; they sell some flavors in pints in grocery stores around here, and they're pretty tasty. I like their Blue Bottle Vietnamese Coffee and their Chocolate Smoked Sea Salt the best [may have gotten names slightly wrong there]. Haven't got around to visiting the actual place yet, but I will when I can think of an excuse to go to San Fran that doesn't pertain to a holiday. Think I might have been to Fenton's when I was small, but I can't remember for the life of me.

Quick question if you're still hunting, though; do you plan on continuing your hunt as a regular one after the timer runs out, or do you just plan on dropping it? I plan on continuing my Jangmo'o hunt, but only because I don't have any Draco Shards yet.

Also, if you still play Pokemon Go, how many Legendaries have you caught? I've only gotten an Entei; hard to get anything else when people keep refusing to help you in Raids and you can barely get a Lugia to 2/3 health on your own.

When I first got the game, I couldn't even use the Super Rod. I didn't understand what was happening. It was years later when I figured it out.

Clearly they were trying to make a more involved mechanic, and after the feedback received, decided to never do that again. Which was a good idea. Unfortunately, this coincides with the game where Feebas is obtained in six random tiles in a hundred-tiles-long river and it's not even guaranteed to appear on those, so you have to trawl the river fishing several times on each spot. I've been doing this for an hour and I've only covered maybe thirty. It's awful.

I have many gripes with Emerald, but it's also the game with the best Battle Frontier hands down, so I get a lot of replay value out of it even though its battery is dead and I can't trade anything to it.

Wherever it's RSE Hoenn or Sinnoh games, catching Feebas there is a nightmare. Funny enough, i've found Feebas spot immediatedly in current playthrough of Platinum.

Hunting to the bitter end. Don't like abandoning hunts in general, even if they may take forever to complete.

I can't remember how you found Feebas in Sinnoh, but I do remember that I found one, which puts it above this mess in my opinion.

I may not be able to evolve the one I get into a Milotic. Dead battery means no more berries ever, and no special days where that one really good Pokeblock guy shows up. I think I have some leftover pro blocks, but I'm not certain, and you can't reach max beauty without that. Man, what even were these game mechanics.

I think it has finally happened! I think I have the right header event that I want to click on. It began back in September, but now my header looks different and, hovering over the "incident", it reads: something strange is happening!

I presume this is the moment I've been waiting for. Problem is... my party is full! Ugh! Should I click on it now? What will happen if I do and I have no open spot? What if I wait until I have an open spot? Will it morph again back into something I don't want?

Your advice is highly sought and greatly appreciated.

Don't click on it until you have an open party spot. You can leave it there until you do have one, though, so no worries. And congratulations!

Thanks so very, Alex Mercer! I've been day dreaming of this moment for a long time and I am irked that it came during a SWSH and full party moment. Guess it just wants me to be super active and quick click a lot more so my eggs will be ready to hatch.

I'll wait until I have a free spot and hope it stays around.

Sinnoh Feebas is found in large, foggy pool area of northern Mt. Coronet. If i remember right, it's much larger than RSE Feebas area.
While still having only 4 certain spots a day, unless you would mix records with other person, who knew the current Feebas spots back in the days of old. Having to meticiously check every spot in every direction about 3 to 5 times isn't fun, either.

At least, evolving it into Milotic is not a problem with buyable Poffins of good quality.

Emerald's Battle Frontier definitely was great, though I'll admit that I didn't use it all that often compared to some. And I'm glad they didn't decide to stick with that fishing mechanic, geez. Still hate Feebas, though. Good luck finding one!

I didn't get my Bounsweet shiny yet, but I got Jangmo-o, so I'm good. Good luck to the rest of you, though. As for me, I always continue hunts. The only exception MIGHT be if I already have the shiny of something and it doesn't have another form or evolution for the dex, but even then, I don't like to leave hunts incomplete.

I caught every legendary so far in Pokémon GO except for Mewtwo and Ho-oh. I didn't get to do an EX raid yet (although I got that pass for Rhode Island after I left it), and I just didn't get around to Ho-oh yet. I have multiples of every other legendary, though.

Bounsweet is now officially my longest shiny hunt. Still hoping I can finish it before Honey+ ends so I can use the next two days for personal hunts.

Yeah, I'll continue my Minior hunt. Once I've started, there isn't much reason to give up, and I'm hoping I can hatch some holding stardust so I can actually evolve them later on.
