I used to love that show with a passion.
My favorite was either blackwargreymon or metalgreymon. The games weren't as solid though... --------------------  I claim Scizor  also don't pm me and ask me to trade if you don't have anything in mind. |

The reason I think Digimon isn't so great is, well, the games aren't anything special. Why? Any Digimon can have maxed out stats. The only real strategy are traits.

I watched it like every other kid. Got irritated with -mon being at the end of every character. Stopped watching altogether. Never played the games. I also hated how the evolutions and such weren't permanent.

the games came first. they started as tomagatchi pet like things and the then digimon world. finally the show came out then all of the other junk.

Meh, I don't hate it, but I don't love it either....xP Mon got annoying...And they were big fat rip-offs...Pokemon is way better anyways....xP

The Digimon anime is better than the Pokemon one, honestly. Yet, the last two seasons...are lame. I haven't really watched the most recent one much though. And I honestly didn't like the Pokemon anime once third gen kicked in. I could go into further details, but this isn't a Pokemon discussion.
I really loved Digimon though. Still love the old episodes. Imperialdramon Paladin Mode and Blackwargremon were beyond awesome. And yeah...I agree, the games weren't as solid as they were with Pokemon. But I've only played Digimon World 3, and my brother screwed the disc up before I could get more than 3/4 through the game. So I can't really talk much. But, it was still a pretty good game. And I seriously want Digimon World Dusk, for my DS. Oh, and, wouldn't this topic be more appropriate in a section about television or something? Unless this topic is purely about the Digimon games...And, so far, it doesn't seem like it is. i used to love digimon so much but after the second season, it started to suck. the third season was ok but not great. the fourth season was horrible. i believe there is currently a fifth season but i havent seen it.

The problem with Digimon is that it's far too similar to Pokemon, yet seems somehow cheaper and tackier. I'm of an age now where I demand substance from anime and games, and I never watched either the Digimon or Pokemon animes for very long because they're frankly terrible. With the cards the Pokemon cards were just better produced and more fun to collect. The single most important aspect of both franchises however are the games, and Pokemon for all the craptastic kiddie orientated franchising has genuinely compelling and deep handheld RPGs. There's enough there to get your teeth into, and the lack of any real difficulty isn't so much an issue because there's more than enough fun. The same cannot be said about the main console and PC games that Pokemon has spawned, which are as a whole bad. And that's Digimon's failure too... they don't have any decent games. Pokemon has the main handheld RPGs in amongst all the crap, but Digimon doesn't have anything to offer unless you're 10 years old and will watch anything that's animated and on the TV on Saturday mornings.

When I was little I watched some of the episodes, but mostly I loved playing with the miniature figurines that came in six-or-seven packs with my friends. Those were the best... ! I never liked Digimon as much as Pokémon though.

heh, digimon. i used to come in from school everyday and beg to watch the back to back episodes of it, then it slowly diserpeared off tv, then games became unfasionable and digimon all together died, as pokemon grew and grew.
i dont so much like the names of the digimon or the show anymore, but i love the desgins of most of them, and their names are too hard to remember
