I mean to say that whatever you were looking for is not here and was never here. I must apologize for this, but I've been dying to introduce myself. You may simply refer to me as Y2K. I'm sure you've heard of all that "End of the World" nonsense coming out of that date, especially considering it must be right around the time of your birth. The collective human consciousness is funny like that. They created their own end of the world.

But your birth date hasn't been the only unusual fact of your life, has it? That's right. I know about your abilities, and I would tell you that I'm coming to find you, but I am sure you will come to find me. I'm dying to talk to you more, but I must be taking my leave now. I'm afraid that your computer has been overtaken by a nasty virus, and should permanently crash exactly 10 minutes after the loading of this page.

Y2K

You are a 14-year-old in present-day society. You were born sometime around midnight at the turn of the millennium. While the date itself is quite ordinary, a person named Y2K and his team unknowingly changed that. His team was preforming some kind of top-secret experiment right around that time. Something went wrong. Something was altered. It only affected certain newborns within a certain distance. Of course, what kind of RolePlay would this be if you weren't one of those newborns?

Now, Y2K figures you're old enough to be spoken to. You have no idea what he wants. He might answer all your questions... or he might experiment on you... It's all up to chance.

It can be assumed that your character was not contacted in the exact same manner as the first five. Perhaps your character received a message from Y2K via internet after the others to meet up with them in the place they are now. Perhaps your character was given misleading instructions intended somehow to mess with the other characters. Whatever makes the most sense corresponding to the current events in the RolePlay.

Y2K mentioned your "abilities", and you know exactly what he's talking about, don't you? Of course, there are others like you, and your 'abilities' vary slightly. There are three types that you have. The first type of abilities are all shared by everybody. The second type of abilities come in pairs. In each pair, you have ONE, but not the other. You must pick one from each pair. The third type is unique to every person. Here are your abilities...

TYPE 1~SHARED ABILITIES
~Ability to see and communicate with ghosts
~Telepathy
~Ability to put up blocks to counter others able to read your mind (only if you concentrate, and this is a skill that must be recognized and heavily practiced)

TYPE 2~PICK ONE FROM EACH PAIRING
~People instinctively like you a lot/People instinctively dislike you a lot
~Slightly increased strength and slightly decreased speed/Slightly decreased strength and slightly increased speed
~Increased sight/Increased hearing
~Empathy towards plants (Hell of a gardener)/Empathy towards non-human animals (Hell of a pet caretaker)
~High tolerance to heat (no heat stroke)/High tolerance to cold (no frostbite)

TYPE 3~PICK ONE OVERALL
Perfect memory~ You remember everything that's ever happened to you. Ever.
Insomnia~ It is impossible for you to sleep. Conversely, you don't need sleep. You grow and heal while awake just as while others are asleep.
Telekinesis & Mind reader~ Move objects with your mind. The heavier it is, the harder it is to move. Remember, you are using your energy directly to move an object. You can also hear people's (verbal) thoughts in present time, but only if and when you want to. If I think about my dead uncle, you know I am thinking about my dead uncle. However, if I never think about my dead uncle, you don't know I even have a dead uncle. (Which I don't.) Other characters can put up mental blocks... but only if they think you are reading their mind, and only if they know you can read minds. You can also attempt to break these blocks... at the cost of draining your energy.
Healing~ Any and every wound, illness, or other medical problem on self or others can be healed. Drains energy greatly. A full body heal can take up to a few days to recharge from, while healing a papercut will take about 45 minutes to recharge from. Cannot bring back the dead.
Hell Raiser~ Can bring back the dead. However, bringing back the dead (humans) uses tremendous amounts of power. The dead person must also be willing, and their body must be present. Additionally, there must be a willing sacrifice. The sacrifice could be anything with life- mammal, plant, bug, fish, whatever- but it must be willing. Smaller and less complex beings use notably less energy. Conversely, the more complex the sacrifice, the less energy used. Reviving a human from a blade of grass uses MUCH more energy than reviving a wolf from a dog (or something).
Frikkin' Immortal- Actually, "invulnerable" would be more accurate, but that doesn't sound as cool. Every time you die, you pop back up after an hour or so. However, your nerves are much more sensitive, meaning that you are much, much more sensitive towards pain. And of course, you feel pain every time you die. >:) What Tyler Cole Jameson and the others failed to achieve.

1) Basic English (British or American) grammar skills are absolutely necessary. This means using periods and question marks as appropriate, and starting a new paragraph at every new speaker. You don't have to be an expert, just try to make it easy to follow. If you are not a native English speaker, that's fine! Just please let me know in your sign-up post. (Or, if you're not a native English speaker but you have the skills of one, you don't need to let me know.)
2) Make sure you actually read the other players' posts. This may seem like it's needless to say, but some people break it anyway, so I felt the need to mention it. If somebody says that their character began prancing round and round the garden like a teddy bear, then don't say they are still in the house and your character is talking to them. Alternately, if somebody says an NPC did something, don't say they did something else. Conflicting storylines get confusing!
3) No mixing IC (in-character) with OOC (out of character)! This means that if my character starts bullying your character because my character is a jerk, I am not bullying you! This also means that your character cannot "magically" pick up on things that were discussed in this thread (eg character's history), and your character cannot read what my character is thinking (and vice-versa). This is also why it is a good idea to avoid basing a character completely off of yourself- you may take insults personally if you do! The exception to this rule is the Mind Reader, but they can only read thoughts in present-time, and they can only read thoughts if they go out of their way to.
4) No controlling other people's characters without permission. I very strongly recommend contacting a player if your characters are going to have a back-and-forth conversation. Instead of making a post over every single response, you can PM or IM back and forth, then one of you can post it in one long conversation post. (Please be sure to indicate that you have permission in a side OOC comment at the top or bottom of your post. OOC comments are indicated by double parenthesis or brackets (()) or [[]] ). In fact, I strongly recommend PMing other members for permissions on different things and possible plot collaborations. In other words, if The Shadow joins, we must all spam up his inbox.
5) No Mary Sues or Godmodding. Your character is vulnerable somehow. I tried to make the more powerful abilities have at least some adverse effects at a minimum, however, that is the BARE MINIMUM and I strongly encourage adding more weaknesses and negative side effects to go with your character's unique combination of abilities. If I feel your character is too powerful before or during a RolePlay, I will ask you to please tone down your character. The purpose of this RolePlay is not for the rest of us to grovel in the perfection and undefeated marvel of your character. Also, your character CAN die. Don't shelter your character. In fact, we have a character in this RolePlay that can bring back the dead, so I don't think you would need to? Of course, the other player is not REQUIRED to bring back the dead with their character. Be sure to specify beforehand if you want your char to be brought back or not, and if the char himself/herself wants to be brought back. Of course, you can't have your character brought back every time... Sometimes, you gotta let them go.
6) This RolePlay will operate on a strike system. Three strikes result in a one-day ban. Six strikes result in a three-day ban. Nine strikes result in a nine-day ban. More than ten strikes and you're out. (I don't like banning people, and I'm sure nobody will get that far. I give lots of lenience with this on purpose. However, if you are breaking the rules left and right, I will be less lenient.) The strike system will probably disappear as we get to know each other and our characters.
7) Sign-ups do not close! Even if all the powers are taken, you can come up with another one. No sweat.
8) You can have up to two characters before the RolePlay starts. After you have made at least one IC post in the RolePlay thread, you can have as many characters as you want. Don't post before you're accepted. Also, you only need one character that is actually a part of the altered teen clique... if you also want to play as a friend, sibling, or otherwise involved person, go for it! Also, pets are allowed (especially for the animal-inclined ones.) No Pokemon.
9) is my favorite Pokemon!! Well, so is ... and Zorua... and all the evolutions of each one... and so many other Kiwis...
10) The anti-password is ! Make sure you absolutely do not include it anywhere in your sign-up post so I know you read the rules!
11) There will be blood. No graphic descriptions of what that laceration looks like... but you can just let us know it's there.
12) Romance is allowed, just make sure you "fade to black" when the door closes. Light/medium sexual innuendo and heavily implication of what those two characters did last night is okay. Just no... details. (There are kids here.) And I'm no homophob.
13) Swearing is allowed, but if your writing is 3rd person, the narrator should avoid swearing. It's not as professional. Swearing is permitted in 1st person, dialogue, and thoughts. Nothing really graphic, though. F-bomb is the "worst" you can do.
14) No bullying between players. The character and the player are two different people. Take out your frustration at the character on the character. (You shouldn't be taking character-on-character insults personally, anyway.)
15) Be active and have fuuun! If this is your first RolePlay, welcome, and be sure to enjoy yourself!

Gender: Female
Age: 14
Location: Atlanta, GA
Personality: Even though at first Viivi might seem a little bit quiet, she actually is very, very loud once people get to know her. Viivi loves to meet new people, and especially after moving to America, her social skills have gotten better. In school she isn't a 'popular kid', but everybody know her, if not by name, at least by face. However, even though she has an extrovert kind of a personality, she only has a small group of really good friends and she enjoys her time with them. The only thing is, most of her friends are guys, which she doesn't mind - she likes playing video games with them. She likes maths and science, but hated Swedish back in Finland.
History: Viivi has been born in the USA, but she moved to Finland's west coast with her family - her parents were from there. They lived there until she was twelve, before they had to move back, thanks to her father's job as a coder and her mom's job as an engineer. Because of this frequent moving, Viivi had a hard time getting friends in Finland and USA alike. However, she quickly learned the way of socializing and things got better - and her grades got better, too.
Appearance: Being from a Nordic country, Viivi has light skin, which tans easily, blonde hair which can turn platinum during the summer, and grey-bluish eyes. She has cut her hair short and shaggy, because it is much more easy to sail during the summers with short hair (they return to Finland every summer, where they sail all summer long on the Baltic Sea). She's 167 cm and weights 53 kg ((man, I never learned the inch-feet thingy, nor the pound thingy. I mean, the whooole world uses metric system, except 'Murica! Why, America, why? Metric is so much easier. And Celcius is easier. ))

Limitations: Viivi needs a source of light - even electric goes, but she prefers sunlight. Using her powers makes her tired and hungry over time, but she can restore herself by sleeping and eating. She might also get hurt by her own attacks and she needs to stay focused all the time while using her powers, or she might release too much power. If she uses too much, her body may eventually burst to flames (but that is only when she has totally used all of her energy to the last drop).

Location: New York (state), U.S.A.
Personality: A jerk who feels no need to demonstrate kindness or manners, especially because he receives little. He doesn't have any in-person human friends. He keeps friends on the internet, where his power (that makes people dislike him) does not take effect. He is a bit sadistic and enjoys horror and gore-related genres. He is also a painter and (secretly) a gardener. He is not particularly talented at anything, and spends much of his time on the internet, playing violent video games, or watching/reading horror. He listens to hard rock/metal. He plays volleyball and has a knack for graffiti. (He's a bit flat, I know, but my goal is for him to develop more as time goes on. This is just his starting self.)
History: He has a younger sister and a single mom. Otherwise... to be written/developed more. :T
Appearance: 6' 2". Black hair and white skin. Small nose and ears. Green eyes and freckles. Several indiscriminate scars. Almost always wears long sleeves and long pants. Dark clothes. Slightly near-sighted, but doesn't always wear his glasses and doesn't have contacts.

Type 2 Abilities: Instinctively disliked by people; Slight decrease strength and slight increase speed; Increased hearing; Empathy towards plants; High tolerance to heat
Type 3 Ability: Raising the dead. It drains his energy completely, and afterwards he needs a 12 hour recovery period consisting of excessive eating and sleep. During said recovery period, he is also in an excruciating amount of pain that goes away as time goes on. It's really not a pretty time. (These are the effects when he preforms revival on humans... on smaller sized beings, the effects are much lesser.) As stated in the first post, the creature being revived must have a present and willing body and soul, and a sacrifice is needed. Meaning, if the dead want to stay dead, revival is impossible.

Other: Not that I can think of now...

Nickname(s): Melody

Gender: Female

Age: 14

Location: Melody was born in Florida, though she was sent away to England when she was six. She went back to America later *see History*

Personality: Melody tends to come off as out-of-touch with reality. She's very quiet and appears to not notice anything that goes on around her. In reality, however, Melody is a shy girl that would rather keep her feelings and troubles under lock and key than to have someone worry over her. She slits her wrists when she feels depressed.

History: Melody's had a rough life. Her father was abusive, both to her mother and herself, so when she turned six, her mother sent her to a boarding school in England so she wouldn't have to suffer her dad anymore. Unfortunately, the other children picked on Melody, first because of her accent then about her white hair and red eyes. She never told anyone about the bullying, fearing what would happen if she did. Then, pinching and name-calling turned into punches and kicks. All the while she tolerated the abuse, even after learning that her mother had died (they called it suicide but she suspected her father had something to do with it), until one day. She was kidnapped and taken back to America, where she was greeted by her father. He hadn't changed a pit, and since she had grown up since he had last seen her, he was more than just an abusive father. He kept her locked in a basement, only letting her go out so she could go to school, then at night, he would have his way with her. She never spoke a word about it, never let on about her life, and always kept to herself, until she finally snapped. She woke up the next morning covered in blood, with no memory of the previous night. She was taken in by her mother's sister after that.

Appearance: Melody sports red eyes that contrast with her pale complexion and silky, silver-white hair. She bears several scars on her wrists where she cut herself in an attempt to feel something.

Type 2 Abilities: People dislike her; Decreased strength, better speed; Increased sight, plant empathy, Heat tolerance

Type 3 Ability: Healing

Other: She has a high threshold for pain, sometimes to the point of not feeling it at all, but that's simply because she's used to it. She has a good voice, though most people don't appreciate it.

Oh. That's pretty cool. Kinda like this one friend I have... he went by the name "Soul", then got into Soul Eater a few years later, and it's his favorite anime now. :P

Anyways, accepted. We'll start when we have... hm... how does 5 characters/players total sound?

We'll probably start with everybody in their homes, or something. I'd imagine that Braxio will put up some advertisements/notices online to see if anybody else has heard of Y2K, which is where the inter-character connections could start.

I've also considered that some characters might never use the computer (Melody actually brought this to mind, since she was locked in a basement that may or may not actually have had a computer in it). If that's the case, I'd imagine that Y2K would leave it as an automated (as in, read by SIRI) voicemail on the phone, substituting words as necessary to make the appropriate shift from "computer" to "phone". Also, instead of the "nasty virus", it'd probably be like... "I'm afraid that a nearby telephone pole will fall down within a relatively short amount of time, taking down some power lines with it," or something. I don't know. And I'm not sure how it would go to the character but not the other inhabitants of the house...

I'm sure we'll figure it out.

EDIT: I just realized that I gave the impression I think Melody's still locked in the basement. Sorry about that- I know she's not, I mean that when I read that it reminded me of it for future chars. ;

@Kayrinda: Accepted. I think that that would be around 5 feet 5 inches, or so? I used Google. XD Well, to us Muricans, feet, inches, and Fahrenheit are the easiest. It's all about what you're raised with. Either way, Google makes measurement conversions much easier. (Actually, I'm a really bad judge of distance in ANY units. Everything is either around my height, shorter, or taller.) Glad we're getting a little more diversity here, too!

Location: Originally born in Houston, Texas
Personality: As she is an insomniac, she finds that her energy is not constantly at peaks so she would not need sleep; however she does not need sleep simply because her body works at minimal mental capacities. She rarely talks but when she does she prefers to Genis it's generally of the upmost importance.
History: After living in Texas for a short time she moved to Japan for education and culture purposes at the age of 7 years old. She came back to America (living in Arizona somewhere) at the age of 13 for her father's business. She has begun to adjust again. She is bilingual in Japanese and English, and is also very prominent at making jokes no one understands. Her main goal in life is to become a pilot in order to fly over Japan and every other country in the world at least once. She's spent her whole life training to be more calm and peaceful, however, she still prefers her axe over human interaction. Upon seeing her axe for the first time she immediately bought it. It was very well crafted but soon she discovered she could not move it at all. She began training in order to move her axe (Presea was very isolated from interaction of people outside her family or servants. It was a way for her to be able to have something of her own that she could work for instead of also being handed everything.) but in the end she could barely lift it. She soon realized she could use the heavy end of the axe as a counterweight and swing it as such. This gives her slow movement, however, and she hates when people touch it. Indefinitely hates with a burning passion. Don't touch it. Really. Is very bad at backstories.
Appearance: Presea is short in stature standing about 5'1". Her axe reaches up to about her shoulders when she holds it straight. Her hair is a dull pink color with two pigtails. The pigtails are not kept very even or neat, though, so they look a little messy. Her bangs reach almost to her pure blue eyes, and she has a few strands of hair on either side of her head. She wears gray gloves with cut fingertips that reach almost to her shoulder, and a gold necklace which is embedded with a ruby that shines rather dully in light. Her outfit is something of a dress, no sleeves, but it reaches about the length of her knees at her legs. Her boots go just above her ankles. She wears a belt around her midsection with a small pack on the back side.
Type 2 Abilities:

Dislike

Increased strength decreased speed.

Sight, but in quality not distance.

Empathy towards animals.

Heat resistant.
Type 3 Ability: Insomnia Because you took all the good ones.

Appearance: Presea is short in stature standing about 5'1". Her axe reaches up to about her shoulders when she holds it straight. Her hair is a dull pink color with two pigtails. The pigtails are not kept very even or neat, though, so they look a little messy. Her bangs reach almost to her pure blue eyes, and she has a few strands of hair on either side of her head. She wears gray gloves with cut fingertips that reach almost to her shoulder, and a gold necklace which is embedded with a ruby that shines rather dully in light. Her outfit is something of a dress, no sleeves, but it reaches about the length of her knees at her legs. Her boots go just above her ankles. She wears a belt around her midsection with a small pack on the back side.
Type 2 Abilities: Increased strength decreased speed.
Type 3 Ability: Insomnia Because you took all the good ones.

Almost accepted. See, in the Type 2 abilities, your character gets one out of each pairing, but not the other one of the pair. On the flipside, your character MUST have one from each pair. It's a gift and a curse

Somehow, I knew you'd take Insomnia. XD If you don't like it, though, you're allowed to take any ability- you just have to ask. That's what Kayrinda did. But it has to even out. Like, the amount of power it takes for Braxio to revive a human leaves him in a recovery state for hours... during this state, he needs lots of food and rest. He is also in a lot of pain. The healing ability also has kickbacks, as does light manipulation. The minor abilities don't have as big of kick-backs. Like, Insomnia doesn't really have any, and it allows the possessor of it to be a lookout and such. I guess the biggest downside would be boredom and lack of dreams.

So, erm, yeah. Add in one Type 2 ability from each pair for the ones you missed, and if you don't like Insomia, you can come up with a different one.

I'll edit it once I get back to my computer. On my phone about to go driving... Oh and all that "he" and "him" stuff... I changed my character mid-writing. So I just copy pasted it look how good I did at editing

I don't want to make a power because I've never been good at that. I can write characters and personality... But some things I can't do. like backstories.
