Does anyone know if, after using Switcheroo/Trick, if the item changes last the duration of the battle or do you return to your normal item when you switch out?

I believe they are permanent.
I used it in Ruby to take items from wild Pokemon and flee, but it may be different if you switch. Not 100% sure though. Though I would think it would stay the same, as the enemy would still have your item. --------------------  Avatar and sig banner courtesy of Commander Wymsy.  |

If it is a link battle, it'll be returned at the end of the battle, but until then it should stay on the guy it was put on.

It also returns at the end of a battle in a Colosseum, or in the Battle Tower.
