Welcome to the new home of the Shimmering Competition. This is a group were lovers of shiny races can come to meet others who share their same interest. Here members can do what they like best, help users get that shiny pokemon that they really want, before their friends.

Mwahaha. So I've finally gotten around to making a facebook page for SC for those who use facebook. You can find it here.

Well its almost that time again for another release of another generation. So we'll have on big epic group race. Any gen 5 pokemon will count and you dont have to go for anything specific.

If anyone wants to make banner it would be much appreciated. I realize that there are a lot of new pokemon, so you don't have to do every pokemon. Any banner would be appreciated. {A few banners here. Tilka can make custom ones with the pokes of your choosing}

Rules:
-Must me a member of SC (or regular racer.)
-You must sign up before the release of the gen 5 pokemon to GPX. The day they are release will be the last day for sign ups. (If for some reason they release them within the next day or so, then I'll extend the sign ups for a few more days).
-Eggs can obviously not be obtained be for they are released.
-The "password" (which would technically be an icon so a pass-icon) is very wymsical.
-You can go for any gen 5 pokemon: When you sign up you will be placed listed as a racer and you can for any gen 5 pokemon. Your attempts will be a combination of every gen 5 pokemon that you hatch.
-*NEW*We are starting December 1st (basically reset). Signups will go till the end of the week.
There will be 5 available positions{See more below}. Attempts are based on any gen 5 pokemon in combination. Attempts only count from December 1st and on.

Winning:
First person to get shiny wins yada yada yada. There will be 45 positions to obtain. However in order to keep this from going forever, if all places are not obtained within 2 months then I'll close it with however many places there are.

-First and foremost, you must follow the Forum Rules. Especially no spamming, no double posting, and no mini-modding.
-There is absolutely NO asking for clicks in this forum. However, if you want to start up a race but want someone to compete against or want to invite others to compete, you can post it here.
*You don't have to be a member to post asking about the above. Nor do you have to me a member to be in a Race.
-We, as a group, will only support friendly competition. Which means I will not stand for any races were competitors bash one another (non-playfully) on their race to the finish line.

-If you wish to submit banners, offer stuff to better the group, found a spelling/grammar error or anything like that, please PM me, not post it here in the site, unless its something that you would like members/others to discuss. (But please be reasonable about want you post.)

Member Application
Before applying, there are a few rules that members will have to follow, and certain requirements they must meet before being accepted. Don't worry I'm not asking anything ridiculous of you, everything is pretty fair. * Please note that I made a change to the original rules of the form.
-First, you CAN NOT be a one-clicker. I'm not totally against one-clickers, but if you are only clicking one, then you aren't truly supporting the cause. You must give full clicks when you click. Similarly, if you support one, you support them all. You must support all competitors of all races. Please. At least click all competitors within a race if you don't click all races.
-Second, you must be on. I'm not asking you to be online everyday, I know you guys have lives, like me, but I am asking that you at least get on a few times a week, for a little while. I don't want people joining up that only get on like four times a month. That's fair. I can understand absences that you can't help, but notification of absences would be appreciated.
-*New*Third, you must always pay attention to updates. Since I do update this and some rules may change, you need to pay attention to the updates' spoiler below.
-Please fill out and PM me the following form. I have a hard time rejecting people so if you apply you'll most likely make it. BUT if you don't meet a high enough standard (its not that high ><) then you won't make it. Some of the things I'm asking don't have anything to do with being a member, but they are things that I would like to know about. Please answer them all. Please note that I will no longer be accepting applications for membership that are posted here in the forum. I'm tired of people not paying attention to this post. I even told you to pm me the form right above the application, but its still not getting through. So from now on you MUST pm me this or you will be rejected.

*Okay, I've gotten some response saying they don't understand this question, so let me explain some. I'm looking for how fast of slow your internet runs. Stability refers to whether cuts out or not. You can tell me if you have dail-up/dsl/cable/high speed, what ever, I just want to know what yours is. And if you don't know what your internet is then don't worry, but you should know how fast or slow it is.



Shiny Breeders
One of the biggest challenges, believe it or not, for shiny racers is actually finding the egg. On several occasions, the shelter has run out of a particular pokemon that is being searched for. Well here's our solution Shiny Breeders. Shiny breeders will breed pokemon for shiny hunts to get. That way there's a better chance for them to find their eggs. Being a breeder is different from being a member, so just because you become a breeder doesn't mean that you will say on the list.

Requirements for shiny breeders.
-You must be breeding a pokemon pair that is needed by racers below (next post). You can either breed two of the same pokemon or two different pokemon as long as they are in the races below.
-If you are not breeding a needed pair for 4 days or more then you shall be removed from the list; and yes you will be checked daily. If removed you will have to resign up.
-It would be preferable if you would breeding pokemon that are needed by racers (they will mention it here in the forum), but you are not required to go searching for them. You'll be fine just so long as your breeding the right pokemon.
-If the pokemon you are breeding are no longer needed (ie someone finished that race), then you will have one week to start breeding another pair. You will be notified when this happens.
Since Marshal Tilka is the new breeder checker, your daycare must me visible to her. This means either add her to your pal pad or set your daycare to everyone, your choice.
• Indicates a honorary breeder. Meaning they update me on their changes and have help others with breeding. These people are picked by me so don't beg. Honorary breeders will not lose there breeder status when they are not breeding needed pokemon for an extended period of time.

*Racers: If the pokemon you seek has vanished from the shelters, don't be afraid to ask a breeder OR pm me and I'll add it to the list below.


Below is a list of pokemon that will always help out (can change), and a list of pokemon that racers are currently having difficulty finding.

Mhmmm, that new thread smell.

I think the 'award' section needs to be better explained. What's the point system for? Or those posts at the bottom? It's somewhat difficult to understand what's going on down there.



@dragonsama: I kept all my magikarp(152 :0) and I plan on keeping my Bunearies. I getting rid of my Venonat's though.
