If you get an option of one or the other, how do you decide?
Some games (G/S/C, R/S, D/P/Pt, HG/SS) can easily be selected by the main legend of the game. Others are sooner broken down to personal preference. If you purchase both (or all three) games, which one do you get first and why? My selection is usually determined by what Pokémon I like better, but I also like to choose the game with as little early-game poisoning as possible (Gold over Silver, for example). -------------------- |

I usually compare which games have pokemon I like better.
I go to Bulbapedia and see what are the pokemon differences between the two games. For example: I picked SoulSilver because it had more pokemon I liked. And that's how I get my pokemon games. -------------------- ayy

Well, I usually pick which one has a niftier name, and look up the Pokemon in it to see if it has a decent number of Pokemon that I like. If it does, then I go with that one. If not, then, obviously, I'll go with the other, despite not having a name that's as nifty as the other.

I usually pick by what pokemon is on the cover. For instance, I got silver because of (sadly I never ended up playing silver), I picked Fire Red because of , Emerald and Ruby because of and , Pearl because of , and the SS because of again.

It depends on what Pokemon can be found in each game.
If there's a version exclusive I want to get then I'll get the game with it. Howver, I got Diamond because I thought Palkia looked stupid. -------------------- |

I buy them all usually at the same time.
The times I have purchased just one, I choose whichever one had the cooler looking legend on the front. -------------------- |

I usually decide based on a couple of factors:
1. the obvious which mascot is cooler or is to my liking 2. which has better version exclusives 3. which my friends don't get 4. which one my brothers don't get I picked Ruby version because red is my favorite, color, my middle brother got sapphire so that both of us could get all version exclusives I picked firered because of the color red and same reason for my middle brother getting leafgreen; my youngest brother got firered because I did All of us got emerald version I got Red Rescue Team because red and fire types go together, my middle btoher got blue rescue team because water and blue are associtaed with eachother My middle brother and i got ranger My youngest brother and I got Diamond version because Dialga wasn't water Type like Palkia and it looks cooler, my middle brother got pearl because it was a water type my middle brother got battle revolution I got explorers of time because because it is associted with darkrai meanwhile my two brothers got darkness because they like darkrai better I got my pokemon ranch all of us got ranger shadows of almia We all got platinum my youngest brother got explorers of sky My youngest brother got and i got heartgold because ho-oh was my favorite legendary and he gets whatever i get usually, my middle brother got soulsilver because his favorite legend is lugia -------------------- |

For the older games, I picked whichever one I thought had a nicer color (Gold, LeafGreen and Ruby). I got Pearl and HeartGold because my friend wanted Diamond/SoulSilver for her birthday and I like buying the opposite version.

I usually choose by what is my favorite legendary between the two. Since I never check the walkthroughs until I need them, I usually find out that in the other game there is another legendary that I want. Like I found out that is in HG and my favorite one of the two, is in SS.

Palkia = Man's set = nasty. Anyway, I choose depending on the color and pokemon, but very few of the times, I choose depending on features and if it's a remake of a good pokemon game or not. -------------------- Credits! For the main games, I get them all. If I'm not buying them at the same time, I'm getting whatever's available. With the other games, I look for a demo/ROM and play it for a bit. If it doesn't grab me, I get rid of it. I only buy it if I want to play it.

I haven't gotten anything since Platinum, and don't plan to until the games get a genuine overhaul or entice me with a dozen or so snazzy new features. It's been the exact same thing with new names, updated graphics, and extra features since the beginning. It's a pretty stale system, multi-player or not.

QUOTE It's been the exact same thing with new names, updated graphics, and extra features since the beginning. It's a pretty stale system, multi-player or not. Well, it's the same thing with pretty much all gaming franchises, startying with Mario. *coughcoughgalaxysuckedcoughcough* I get them all. Usually at the same time. Whichever I play more is a heads-or-tails business. I'm bringing Explorers of Sky to Winnipeg with me. -------------------- |
