Are you guys ready for a spine-chilling Halloween event?
NOTE: If you participated in last year's Halloween Event and still have Halloween Candies you haven't redeemed for a prize, you have until reset tonight (October 25th at 11:55pm server time) to redeem them. Candies will be reset at that point for this year's event.

How does it work?
- In true Halloween style, hatch some spooky Pokémon!
- Pokémon from the list below will have a chance of hatching with Halloween Candy!
- Collect enough Halloween Candy to exchange it for some
awesomefrightening prizes (prices ranging from 10 to 300 candies)! - Check your Inventory to see how much candy you've collected so far!
- The event will start on Saturday (26th of October, basically after reset tonight), and will run for a little over a week (last day is Sunday, the 3rd of November).
- The Halloween candies that are used to feed Pokémon as berry replacements, and the Halloween Exploration, will also run through the 3rd of November.

[2019-10-26 3:55pm ET] 4 new rewards have been added to the Halloween Candy redemption at 30 pieces of candy each. These items are not yet usable, but are Rare Evolution Items! I am sure some of you can figure out what they'll do.
[2019-11-03 11:55am ET] The Distressing Disguise item is now usable on Pikachu! The usual 5-day wait between evolutions/form changes is in place.
[2019-11-21 1:33am ET] The 3 remaining new items from this event are now usable on Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle! Sorry for the delay.

I recently finished a few shiny hunts so this is the perfect excuse to start a couple new ones

I added some additional Spooky Pokémon to the hatch list!
Prizes as of now will be the same as they were last year, with the most expensive prize being Marshadow at the max of 300... plus we've added Jacnea at 30 candies.
Also, note that there will be 4 extra prizes added to the prize redemption within the next day or two. They will each cost 30 candies. That way you know to save some, if you'd like.

Oh, how fun! I'm back this year after a hiatus so it'll be nice to partake in the event and collect some candies and see what the prizes (a complete surprise to me) will be! c:

Awesome, I was waiting for this event to happen, I hope I hatch a few shinies this time. I’ll probably save my candy to see what these new items are .
I got a Zombidofo and two Chocolate Bars from the candy last year, I had 1 candy left over.

As long as you have the berries set not to be randomized (Skins & Settings > Settings > top option in the middle row), the candy matches up in the same order that the berries do: from left to right, sour, spicy, dry, sweet, bitter.

Redhots = Spicy
Reese's = Dry
Candycorn = Sweet
Peppermint = Bitter

Oh, they indeed do cap at 300 as I just found out. Make sure you spend them!

Nope, once you hit 300 be sure to spend the candies before hatching more eggs. You can only hold up to 300 at one time.

Dang, I wish I had known that. I hit 300 sometime yesterday and didn't realize it wasn't going up. I didn't really participate last year, assuming it was the same then.

I'm actually a bit butt hurt over losing last years candy. but I only had like 30? maybe less. but I can only imagine some had LOTS. I just used my easter eggs so I wouldnt forget XD
anyone see the 300 rewards? I dont think I will reach them but I just wanna know if I should spend a full day hatching while im off work

I think it was just Marshadow? There were 100/200 rewards, but they weren't anything you couldn't get elsewhere, IIRC.

I initially thought they were only going to be dress-up items, but I was pleasantly surprised to find they're in the rare evolution items category of the inventory. So my best guess is we're getting novelties revolving around the pokemon they represent (Shedinja, Mimikyu, Cubone, and Yamask) since I can't see making four unique sprites for every available pokemon wearing each item unless they become dressup items.

EDIT - I originally put in my thoughts, but after thinking more about it, I decided to remove those thoughts, just in case. But haven't changed my mind on what I think they will be for.

I bet the four new items are going to be evolutions for Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu - just like the Pokemon Go event, wherein Bulbasaur was dressed as Shedinja, Charmander as Cubone, Squirtle as Yamask, and Pikachu as Mimikyu. In the meantime, I'm sitting woefully under-equipped and I want those four items. Does anyone have a master list of all the available items and their costs?

My personal tip when farming is to pick the lowest-warming pokemon and focus on it. The trouble with a pokemon like Driffloon, for example, is it takes over 7,000 XP to hatch which is twice as long as the Zubat.
It sounds nice to shiny hunt and farm candy at once but it's not always practical, especially when there's four evolution items out.

You don't have to use it right after the event ends. Just be sure to use it before the next event that uses Halloween Candy, otherwise it will be reset.

It was cool to know about this 4 new items (if you play pkmn go, you should know what it is)
But I lost my past halloween candies due to the post was in a day, and the day after they were gone.. and I couldn't use them since I read this that day after.. sad face
But well, it seems to be some bug or something: If I check my inventory here, I find 29 halloween candies, but in the mobile site it says 30.. and that's actually the difference between getting one of this 4 new items or not (also, if I spend 20, I could not use the others 9 for nothing..)

They "evolve" certain Pokemon. Although it's not really an evolution, of sorts. It's more like the Cosplay Pikachu, but with no special moves added to the Pokemon's moveset. If you played Pokemon Go during its recent Halloween Event, you'd have a good idea of what the items go to based on their pictures; but otherwise I'm not sure if I can tell you the specifics per the terms of this site.
@GothMetal: I've noticed the same problem with the Candy I have showing up in different amounts on mobile/desktop.

The mobile site is incorrect... it's adding 1 when it shouldn't to the display. I'll get that fixed when I have some time.
