I got a few items like fire orbs and a Heart Scale but I don't know how to use them. How do I use Pokemon related items?

Flame Orbs can be used when your Eggs are ready to hatch ahead of time. You see, an Egg must be at least 1 hour old before it can hatch, but sometimes Eggs manage to reach 100% before the hour is up (this can happen if the Egg requires little maturity and/or if the user who owns the Egg is getting a lot of clicks from other users). Because of this, sometimes there are users that are stuck with an Egg in their party that's ready to hatch but have to wait before they can hatch it; if a user in this situation has a Flame Orb, however, they'll have the option to bypass the 1-hour wait by using the Orb on the Egg.
Heart Scales, for their part, are for releasing Pokémon ahead of time. Any Pokémon you obtain you must keep for a mininum of 12 hours. This can cause problems for folks who collect Pokémon they won't want/need for long, since their PC boxes can fill up real fast. If a user has a Heart Scale, however, they can go to any Pokémon that they've owned for less than 12 hours and that they want to release, and just use the Scale to release them early. Whenever any of these items are eligible for use on a Pokémon, the options they provide will appear on the Pokémon's drop menu along with an indication that you'd be using up the item by making that choice. -------------------- |
