Wow, those facts are very interesting... and laxyish of Pokémon's names Arbok and Ekans. =/

Posted by: Galactic Boss Cyrus Oct 20 2010, 04:38 PM

Yep! Original mascot was Clefairy.

Meowth's also based on the "beckoning cat" legend... But you can find all the origins in the Bulbagarden article "On the Origin of Species." It's cool awesome.gif http://bulbanews.bulbagarden.net/wiki/On_the_Origin_of_Species:_Meowth

I can't think of any atm, but I'll keep coming back here cat.gif

Being a Pokemon trivia nerd, I knew all of those except

QUOTE
Meowth is based off of Satoshi's pet house cat

because I didn't read Bulbapedia' Origin of Species article. :P

And yes, that design for "Latias" was originally meant for Gen 2, but when Gen 3 came around, they split it's design into the current Latias and Blaziken.

I love the Japanese. Apparently they discovered a new protein which helps carry electrical impulses from the eyes to the brain. They named it Pikachurin because the protein possesses "lightning-fast moves and shocking electric effects."
While you shouldn't trust Wiki for everything, here's a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pikachurin. cat.gif

One of my friends told me that a Haunter's lick can send a human into crazy shaking and then they die. O.o

Azurill have a 75% chance of being female while Marill and Azumarill have a 50% chance. Due to this, one of every three female Azurill evolve into a male Marill.

I like that logic

I find it weird that Nidorina can be male and Nidorino can be female, when their pre-evos can only be one gender. Also, Happiny can only be female, while Chansey has a chance of being male...I guess Pokemon have the ability to change genders when they evolve? XD

Yes, it's real.

I don't find it disturbing at all.

I like your name btw.

The statistics are real. See, while Marill and Azumarill can be found in the wild, Azurill's a baby Pokemon so can technically only be around thanks to humans... Maybe the Sea Incense tends to make it easier for a female to be born.
But nothing's confirmed about this, so I guess you can say one of three female Azurill evolves into a male Marill if you want wink.gif

This guy's personal experience says otherwise: http://nsider2.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=554846&st=0&p=10572878&hl=+azurill%20+&fromsearch=1&#entry10572878

If you claim hacked (I don't know what hacking can do but I'm assuming whatever you want), the second response has a quote about it from Bulbapedia.

I stand corrected.

Don't know whether that's awesome or creepy xD

So True. Oh, and the back sprite of a torchic is disturbing. Its male only, and its a one pixel difference. Can you find it?

There's a town in Isshu (Hodomoe City) that's based off of San Francisco. The Hodomoe Bridge is also inspired by the Golden Gate Bridge.

Orre is based off of Arizona (adding this because I'm from Arizona <3)

Regice, Regirock, and Registeel are all based off of the three ages: The Ice Age, the Stone Age, and the Iron Age.

Yup, I knew most of these but the fact that the creator got the idea of Pokemon from collecting bugs in bug pods is pretty cool.

In Gen II, it was impossible to get a legit female shiny starter or Eevee.

Posted by: RayquazaLvX Nov 19 2010, 06:30 PM

Rayquaza coudn't learn Hyper Voice until HG/SS, yet it was shown using it to calm down Groudon and Kyogre in Emerald.
... Action Replayed Rayquaza? awesome.gif
