Interesting... Is there any clearer release date than just 2013 for outside of Japan? Comes out in the US on Feb 4th for both retail and download. I'm seriously considering download so it can be permanently implanted into my 3DS . -------------------- PANE Mod PANE x2 (click to show ) Credit for 2gamer's Seel of Approval (click to show ) |

I like Krom better, if only for the Conan references.

If y'all don't know, the FE: Awakening 3DS bundle is confirmed to release in the US! ^^
GameInformer magazine revealed it in their February issue. I can't wait to buy it! That FE themed 3DS is SO beautiful! -------------------- My art thread. Click on my eggs and Pokemon and I may click yours too. ^^ And don't forget, Keldeo is the most adorable pony Pokemon ever. |

I placed a pre-order on January 1. Gee, GameStop sure has me locked in... In any case, I like the name Sully because Monsters Inc.
So why is Donny forced to drop his homemade lance on promotion? -------------------- |

Well I just tried the demo. It's short (two missions plus some cutscenes and dialogue), but it has me sold on this eventually. I think I'll hold off on getting it until I finish The Sacred Stones, just so I don't have multiple FE games going on at once.

Speaking of the demo, I have a challenge using it. First, get a clean copy of the demo with the full 30 uses. Second, start the game and choose Insane Mode. The rules are as follows:
1: If Chrom or My Unit die, you must exit the game, thus using up one use of the demo. 2: If all 30 tries are used up, you have failed the challenge. 3: Cookies will be awarded based on how many tries were used, whether pairing up was used or not, and whether pairing or not Frederick was used. I may award cookies for other factors I have not thought about yet. So what are you waiting for? Go and earn some cookies! -------------------- |

But I like Sol -> Stahl.QUOTE So why is Donny forced to drop his homemade lance on promotion? Dunno. Donnel was a fucking retarded design decision imo, he's fun to use when he gets going. If he gets going.Well I just tried the demo. It's short (two missions plus some cutscenes and dialogue), but it has me sold on this eventually. I think I'll hold off on getting it until I finish The Sacred Stones, just so I don't have multiple FE games going on at once. This game trumps every other FE game by miles. It's that good.Speaking of the demo, I have a challenge using it. First, get a clean copy of the demo with the full 30 uses. Second, start the game and choose Insane Mode. The rules are as follows: I beat the first couple chapters of Insane (before quitting). Insane gets way worse lol Hard mode is fun even though there are difficulty spikes (but they feel natural too, they weren't gradual increases but they were natural).

I must say that this game is missing the Trinity of Magic. To me, having only one type of magic is like having one type of physical weapon. As for Sol--->Stahl, I don't need a reminder of how slow my computer is. Then again, XP might be better than heavily patched Vista. I better stop before I go too off-topic.

Trinity of Magic was such stupid shit and if anyone wants it back then go play FE4/5/9/10 (or FE6/7/8 but that was entirely different because the Trinity of Magic was so much different in 6/7/8 than 4/5/9/10). I like having one tome weapon level, with a myriad of tomes to add onto it, rather than having 5 separate weapon ranks for otherwise carbon-copy weapons. Ain't nobody got time for that.

They didn't get the trinity right in my homelands of Magvel and Elibe, but that the doesn't mean they can't rejigger the whole thing. True, one type of magic has been the standard in 5 of the 13 FE games, but more magic=more diversity.

Trinity was way better in GBAFE than it was in FE4/5/9/10. But the fact is that the spell books are so well designed in this game (and everything in general) that you won't care about the lack of it. Like Bows, Spells just exist outside the primary triangle and have their own quirks.

I hope nobody is unhappy with this DP, but I have something big to contribute. There is a shortage of physical copies, thus some stores, such as GameStop, were unable to distribute the product on Monday. I called my local GameStop yesterday and the y said that they still did not have it. The big question is: Did Nintendo not expect this game to be a big deal?

Yeah, this is definitely one of the biggest Fire Emblem releases in America, and evidently Nintendo underestimated it, so they're distributing physical copies super strategically.
If you're having a hard time finding a physical copy, I'd recommend downloading it directly to your DS through the eshop. I did that and ended up getting it opening day. One thing I'll say that is super counterintuitive to everyone who played FE previously: Change classes early and often. I'm gonna explain it here, 'cause it took me a long time and some failed experiments to figure it out: The Master Seals let you go from Tier1 to Tier2, but you have to be level 10-20. You can also use a Master Seal to switch from one Tier2 class to a different Tier2 class, but you have to be level 10 in the T2 class to do this. Second Seals let you switch to a Tier1 class (You have to be at least level 10 Tier1, or any level Tier2). These things are awesome, and imo way better than Master Seals. Here's why: Each Tier1 class gets a class specific skill at level 1 and 10. Tier 2 classes get them at 5 and 15. Once you learn a skill, that character knows it forever. That's why class changing is important. As long as you've learned all the skills from your current class, the only thing you get out of leveling up further is stats. Switching classes gives you more Skill options. When you switch classes, you don't lose stats (Unless you go from T2 to T1, in which case you will lose the promotion bonus) but you do go back to level 1, meaning exp comes easier now. So using a Second Seal not only gives you access to new skills, but makes leveling up easier. There's literally no reason not to use one of these as soon as you get them. Master Seals are actually a little bit tougher, since going from T1 to T2 will give you an immediate boost in stats, but will make exp come more slowly. Because of that, if you're going from T1 to T2, I recommend not doing it right at level 10. Get some more levels out of your T1 class and then promote. Between 15 and 20 is good. ANYWAY, I really wanted to get that out there, because I couldn't find a good explanation on Serenes Forest. -------------------- [spoiler=PANE - Justin Smart] Justin Smart Profile Current Level Post Wiki Currently In: Zoobreak! The physical copy problem is worse for those who pre-ordered. Later Friday, I found out GameStop got their copies through my dad, who drove me there after work. In any case, I think that the distributors should have had them at least a few days before release.

i didn't read much of this cause i don't want to read spoilers but i saw like the first part of this game through a walkthrough on youtube and it looks very interesting, one thing I like is the whole build your character at the beginning of the game along with choosing a voice(never seen something like that before). And just watching the first part it overall looks like a good game to play, in a few weeks i plan on getting a 3DS and Fire Emblem: Awakening.
