I plan on "getting" it, where by getting it I mean pirating it. >_>
LoZ: WW was my favourite LoZ game, and I'm hoping that this will be awesome too. -------------------- |

I preferred Minish Cap actually... I don't know. I like the old school Zeldas more than the newer ones to begin with, and obviously Phantom Hourglass doesn't compare to Ocarina or Wind Waker or Twilight Princess in terms of graphics etc because it's on the DS.
I did like it, I just think I prefer the older styling of the original, Link to the Past and Minish Cap, or the complexity of Ocarina, Wind Waker and Twilight (I have the 'cube version, not the flipped around, vaguely controlled Wii one, so yes it did manage to be sophisticated in control and gameplay). Phantom Hourglass kind of sits somewhere in the middle of the two distinct styles of Zelda to date. If you take it purely by its own merits then it is a good game, one of the best on the DS of its kind. I just think there are a lot better Zelda games on other systems. |

I guess you don't play many games then, since most of them originate in Japan.

I would assume he means importing one, not playing a translated one.
Odds are I won't be getting this. I don't have money for Halo 3, my soon-to-be XBL account, and this. Most likely I will rent this though. -------------------- That is a really, really bad sig; new one to come soon.

Actually, if you do it right, importing is cheaper than buying domestic. I import games and other stuff all the time.

I need a 360 though. ! I'd probably buy a 360 before a Wii just because of Halo 3. >_> So when does LoZ come out? I'll "get it" too. Well, Ramsden let me know when it was out and I got it right away. I just got done beating it today. I didn't get all 20 spirit things for each spirit though. :[
I thought it was really cool considering it used the touch screen for everything. Drawing the path for the boomerang and all that was awesome. -------------------- Want a rotating avatar like mine? Check out my website: randimg!

But once you beat it, it's like "aw man, it's over "
It lets you save right before the final battle though so you can go back to that save and still do things on the map but you still have that final battle sitting there. I'm deciding if I want to go back into the game and try to unlock everything. -------------------- Want a rotating avatar like mine? Check out my website: randimg!

What I don't get... how often do we see a direct continuity sequel in Zelda? Majora's Mask following on from Ocarina of Time is the only one I can think of. Now, Wind Waker has been accused of almost killing the entire franchise (because gamers are mostly fickle immature bastards who were put off by the incredibly good-looking but unrealistic and cartoony cell-shading)... and yet, Phantom Hourglass is a direct continuity sequel of it.
What the fucking fuck? If even Nintendo say that Wind Waker almost killed the entire Zelda game series, and they have said that many times whilst making a fuss over Twilight Princess (which in my opinion isn't as good as Wind Waker), why the hell did they think "I know! Let's do it again, only on a less powerful machine where the cell-shading actually does look a bit iffy. AND we'll nerf the sailing mechanics, which was the only unique aspect!"? It's a great game... but I don't honestly understand why it was made. Especially as it's the first proper Zelda game on the DS. In itself incredible, as it's taken three years for a Zelda game to hit the DS. Because Freshly Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupee Monkeynuttery doesn't really count. |
