How do I close my Account? I want to leave for personal reasons and i don't just want to sign out and not log in again. I'd like it to be gone.

Sorry to tell you but I don't think its possible to delete your account. I looked around a bit and from what I found out the closest thing to deleting your account you could do is just logging out and never logging back in again.

Yeah, there's literally no way to delete an account on this website. Just scramble your password so that you can't log in again.

How would this work in the UK then, Data protection Act requires websites to delete your data on request.

Plus the "Right to be forgotten" as part of the new GDPR applies Europe wide.

It's why a lot of pet collection websites have been recently deleting all inactive accounts so they don't get stung, or have to restrict every EU country from their website.

Who knows, honestly. That's a question you're better off asking a moderator about, I have no idea how new laws will affect GPX+, nor how old would constitute as "old" in terms of account age....or what length of time would be considered inactive enough.

if its not a site run in the UK, its not obligated to run by UK laws. however, im not sure where the site is run from, but it seems like the site is going by american laws, which doesn't require that you have to delete an account upon request.

The staff are all Canadian, so I assume the server is in Canada as well. Regardless, this is irrelevant, because the way the UK law is written, it means all sites that do business in the UK must follow the law. GPX+ sells Credits, which is a form of doing business. They'd either have to stop selling Credits to users in the UK, start allowing account closures, or risk having the UK block the site from all users in the UK.

Only one is, and it ain't me. wink.gif

We're willing to ban and delete accounts if requested via PM, as long as we're 100% certain it is the account holder requesting it and not someone maliciously accessing their account trying to get it removed.

However, if they go through with that request, we do not allow it to be used as a way to simply "start fresh" with new accounts, so if we determine they've made a new account, it is subject to ban as well.
