"Know thyself."- Socrates
(Although I'm not entirely sure if Socrates made the maxim, but he used it apparently.) Now this is something to ponder about. Do you know who you are? No, I don't mean like: "OH, MAI NAEM IS JEBUZ KRAIST AND I LIVE IN GEORGE ST." What I mean is that if you know who you really are; What your true desire is, what you feel, what sort of emotions you show. Although we reveal ourselves to others, we never really reveal ourselves to us. How much percent do we know ourselves? Do we know what true desires we want? Do we know that we are actually bullies though we think of ourselves as kind? Stop and think for a while, do you know yourself? (I know I've worded this is a very corny way, but I tried my best.) -------------------- ayy

No.
I don't know myself. I probably won't know myself properly until I'm at least 30 odd. At the moment I'm just a kid who doesn't know what he's doing or who he really is. Until I've set down my roots I won't know. -------------------- Don't forget to love yourself. In Psychology, the motto is basically to not know thyself. xD
I don't think I know myself, I'm sure I'm molding a personality that lacks authenticity. Hell, my deception is so good that I'm even fooling myself. I'd probably say 10% I don't think we will ever know ourselves until our personality has solidified. Most of us on this site are younger than 30, and we're still trying out different identities. -------------------- |

I'm starting with time to know more about myself, to be more affirmative than before.
But I still have tons of work to do. I don't even know if I'll get there, even when I'll be 30, 40 or whatever. We always learn something new, after all. -------------------- |

We always learn something new, after all. I think the OP is referring to our spiritual self, not what we REALLY know. We can know a lot of empirical things yet know nothing about our true selves. This question requires some knowledge of different schools of philosophy. Yet, we never really know the answer. -------------------- |

I used to know nothing about myself, until I went into the OA (Order of the Arrow), which was my time to settle down and ponder about who I really am...
I now know I'm God's creation, and I shouldn't sit at home and play video games all the time, I know that I need to make my time here worth while. (Very, very corny.) -------------------- Yep, I'm Serious.

I thought I knew myself, and what I wanted in life. I thought I was a successful person who made the right decisions but it turns out I was wrong. I might not know myself 100% right now but I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of person I see myself being. Other people also don't know the 'real me' and I'm looking for a way to tell them all.
Where did this post come from at all, let's all pretend I'm not here. *throws smoke ball* -------------------- |

I try to be a very loving and compassionate person who looks out for others and tries to help as best as I can. I am not perfect, as no one is perfect and I make mistakes and have bad days, but I hope to be the person anyone can come to when they need someone to talk to or cheer up.

I'm a believer in; if you spend too much time double thinking everything you do and studying your own behavour, you're going to make changes to yourself to direct yourself more to what you believe you should be. You may not think you are, acting on what you think is right instead of what you'd naturally do, but if you're thinking that far into the action or your personality you're not going to act on instinct. The more you focus on what you do, the less you become yourself, and in turn you're not getting to know yourself but what your ideal self is.
No, I'll never really get to know myself by simply going with the flow, but by doing that I will stay on course of who I am and any changes made to me will be natural instead of forced on myself. Just let yourself be and you'll be your true self, even if you're not aware of it. -------------------- |

I am proud to say I do not know myself. Interesting enough, I've been tossing around a situation in my mind that might require me to know myself better than anyone. You know what I always imagine happening? I end up not knowing enough. I actually enjoy it that way. As Karofsky stated before, if you study yourself for too long, you change yourself. I think only one Guy knows who you are exactly, but I won't be able to ask Him just yet. I used to always know what I wanted to do in life, and now that I'm in high school and am about to be faced with the crossroads, I'm not so sure. But if we were ever 100% sure about anything, would life be half as entertaining as it is?

I know myself very well. I'd say 26 years is long enough to figure it out.

In all honesty, I have no idea who I am. Other than a name and a seat in my classes, I don't know anything about myself. No hobbies, no talents, no legacy. Just, some kid walking down the street. And in some cases, that's a good thing!

I'm fairly certain that I don't know who I am, but I think I know who I want to be.

I know it sounds stupid, but I know myself quite well.
I know my desires, my feelings, the emotions I show to others. I never experimented much during my teenage years, I knew who I was, and didn't want to change. I still changed a lot, but the main things I stand for, never seem to change. -------------------- |

To be completely honest, i dont know myself.
I seem to have subconciously developed an entire psychological feedback system consisting of several different personalitys that seem to always be changing. I may know alot about it, but ive barely scratched the surface of the true face of each of theese people... And really i have no idea what triggers the change from one personality to the next, it just seems i react to whatever ther is to react to, and i have absolutely no controll of how i react... but every time i do, i just happen to react the right way to almost everything... Almost everything....... Yea, i really dont know myself very well. I probably will figure myself out one day, but for now, it seems my subconcious knows me well enough, so i wont have to worry about not knowing myself yet. -------------------- |

Really, I could probably know myself if I wanted to, but I hide my true self from myself.
I don't want to think myself a bad person, but on the inside we are all evil. I consider myself an optimist, but more likely than not I am a pessimist. I hide myself from myself because I want to think myself better than I actually am. -------------------- Wanna dance? (click to show ) |
