Espeon Pokedex #: 196 Type: Psychic Evolution line: (Level with friendship maxed and in the day) -> Bases stats: HP: 65 Atk: 65 Def: 60 SpA: 130 SpD: 95 Spe: 110 Total Base stats: 525 Tier: Borderline (BL) Strengths: Poison, Fighting. Weaknesses: Bug, Dark, Ghost. No effect against: Dark. Resists: Fighting, Psychic. Immune to: None. Ability: Synchronize, When statused, the enemy is also statused. Movesets: 1. Need a pass? Espeon@ Leftovers Timid Sychonize 252 HP / 64 SpD / 192 Spe Psychic Baton Pass Substitute Calm Mind True Espeon fans recognize this as the famous "EspyJump". Espeon still remains a good baton passer in this gen, as pursuit usually can hit this speedy evolution of Eevee. 2. Special Sweeper Espeon@ Leftovers/Salac Berry Timid Synchronize 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Hp Psychic HP Fighting/Grass Knot Signal Beam/Baton Pass Calm Mind If your like me and hate seeing your favorite eeveelution being only used to help others, then this set is for you. Grass Knot can be a good alternate if you can't get the right Hidden Power, seeing how this is really meant for Tyranitar and Weavile, as most other steels only take neutral damage to it and most other Darks can get hit by Signal Beam. Signal Beam gives Celebi and other Psychics a scare, and gives Espeon something to hit dark types with, while Baton Pass can give another Special Sweeper/Wall a good boost. 3. Leading Espeon Espeon@ Choice Scarf/Choice Specs Modest/Timid Synchronize 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Hp Psychic HP Fighting Signal Beam/Shadow Ball Grass Knot Espeon is rarely seen as an offensive lead, mostly cause good ol' Alakazam. Signal Beam gets Darks and other Pschic types, but if you have a non-Gengar ghost type problem, Shadow Ball can really help. Other Options: Morning Sun is a good healing move for our purple cat, but better with Sunny Day support. It also gets Wish, Charm, Fake Tears and Yawn, but it's tough to figure out what to take out to put these in. Counters: Special walls like Blissey and Snorlax can stop it in it's tracks. Anything that can out speed it will do a good amount of damage on it, even taking it out in a single turn. Final Thoughts Espeon is by far my favorite Eeveelution and favorite psychic type along together. It may seem Alakazam outclasses it as a Special Sweeper, but Espeon is a bit sturdier. As a Baton passer, Espeon can do a great job. And if your looking for a Sweeping Eeveelution, Espeon is possibly the best choice. *NOTE* I'll get around to adding more sets later, I'm tired right now... -------------------- |

^HP Fighting = Hidden Power, type: Fighting Isn't Espeon's tier UU? o.O It very recently became UU, yes. Nice analysis Geoffery. Heres another set ( one of my own ) that you could add, if you wished. Sub Calm Mind Espeon @ Leftovers Timid 196 HP / 68 SpDef / 244 Speed Synchronise - Substitute - Calm Mind - Psychic / Shadow Ball - Hidden Power Fighting / Signal Beam / Hidden Power Fire First of all, this Espeon is meant for OU, where Shedinja and Spiritomb are rarely, if ever, seen. Moveset : Substitute is an obvious and allows Espeon to not only avoid status while stating up but also to avoid damage. Simply switch into something you pose a threat to and substitute on the switch. Calm Mind is an obvious must for this set, as it offers it not only its special bulk but also its form of damaging anything. Psychic and Signal Beam offer the best coverage for UU, as most steel pokemon are prominently Physically defensive, so they wont enjoy Calm Minded Psychics from Espeons incredible base 130 Special Attack stat. However, this set is prepared for OU, in which speedy steels can put an end to you very, very quickly, most threatening being Scizor or Heatran. Depending on which you think will threaten most, you can decide to use Hidden Power Fighting, for better coverage overall, which stil 2HKO'es Heatran after only one Calm Mind, meaning the firey frog cant switch in safely whatsoever, or Hidden Power Fire, which offers worse overall coverage but gives you a way to easily take down that marauding metal bug of doom. EVs : 196 HP hits the maximum leftovers recovery point. 244 speed hits 347 speed with a 30 speed IV, which is needed for any Hidden Power mentioned, however, if your using signal beam, feel more than free to move 4 EVs from Speed to SpDef. 347 Speed outruns positive natured max speed Infernape, meaning you can easily OHKO with no worries. The SpDef investment is there for bulky Special defensive Subs after a few CMs, however, if you prefer power over bulk, feel more than free to shift them to SpAtk. Like I said, this Espeon is specifically EVed to do well in the OU environment. If wanted, I could edit this post with the more siutable UU environment one =) -------------------- |

I think trick could be an option on the lead set. A choice item can totally shut down walls who switch in on you.

just a thought, but couldnt a fake tears/jump work? similar to espyjump, but with fake tears replacing either calm mind or baton pass? some kind a switch forcer/attacker?
