Characters like Fi and Navi from The Legend of Zelda games really get on my nerves sometimes. Mainly if I have just gotten in a new area or something and they have to pop out and explain the place to me when I just want to explore.
I absolutely hate the Deadly Six from Sonic Lost World. Nothing about them appeals to me. I don't like their design at all. I also don't like that they just kind of appear in the game without any back story. In other Sonic games (or at least most of them), the main villain for that game would have some kind of back story, or at least their sudden appearance would be explained. Though some of my hatred toward them might be from me not playing the game as much since I don't like how the new Sonic games seem to be more speed based than platforming like in the Sonic Adventure games.
I'm sure there are other characters that I don't like, but these are the only ones I can think of at the moment.
So what are your guys' least favorite video games characters?
I didn't mind Navi that much, but if you name any character in Drakengard that isn't Caim or Angelus, then I will willingly type out an entire essay about why I loathe them. They're all fucking terrible people and they all just screw you over.
I'm not a believer in celebrating death, but the saddest thing between Drakengard and Drakengard 2 (aside from Angelus' being sealed - that was legit sad) was not being able to see Verdelet die in the most humiliating and gruesome fashion. I haven't seen him do anything but fuck you over in this game and I'm glad Caim ended his life before he messed up an already terrible world even harder.
Fi and Navi never bothered me. Well, after playing OoT for the 30th time it got a little annoying but that's not her fault. :p
I'm not a fan of Xion from Kingdom Hearts. It might be because I don't really understand her character/purpose. I feel like she's just a filler that's not needed in such a complicated plot.
I absolutely hate Maven from Riften in Skyrim. I want to kill her but the game (without mods) won't let me, she makes the town worse and her continued practices in buying thiefs and assassins to further her agenda sickens me.
Luis Lopez in GTA 4. Only GTA Protag that isn't likeable. Literally every girl wants him..... sounds like fan fiction.
Tails from the classic Sonic games. He never leaves you alone.
Hama from Ar tonelico: Melody of Elemia. She's condescending and has the most obnoxious voice acting I've ever heard.
Bozé from Xenoblade X. He starts off extremely unlikable, and what development he does get feels like too little, too late. Gameplay-wise, he's just a less useful Lao, and his final affinity mission is kind of bullshit in how it's set up.
Eric from Zero Time Dilemma. Spends half his time being useless, and the other half needing to CALM HIS ASS DOWN. He pathetically obsesses over Mira and is more than willing to hurt a little kid who hasn't done anything beyond being kind of suspicious. I normally soften up toward characters with painful backstories, but Eric is such an ass that I could barely even sympathize with him.
Also Lusamine from SuMo. She's well written and serves her role in the story well, but oh my god what a loathsome woman. Game Freak writes abusive parents almost too well. I wish I could have just left her in Ultra Space with her precious jellyfish so she'd never be able to hurt anyone ever again. She got off too easy and I hope she's bedridden for the rest of her miserable life.
Huey Emmerich. I could go on for ages about how I simply despise this man. And it's not because he's poorly written, it's because he's written so well. He was written to be the kind of guy you'd hate, and such a good job was done with it. If you've played Metal Gear Solid V you'll understand, and if not... it's hard to explain.
