Overall, this RP was alright. It was lengthy, although riddled with tons of short posts and the overall plot felt a bit abrupt. Also, the mission seemed a bit too over-the-top for a ragtag team of new recruits.

12 levels. Like several people, there were quite a bit of short posts and some spelling errors. There wasn't much battling in the RP, and when it did occur, it was a bit abrupt.
85 Mission EXP. The mission was far too difficult for a group of new recruits, although the mission failure somewhat redeemed this. The overall mission felt rushed however.


Mclena:
5 levels. Way too many short posts, no battles, and a lack of activity were the main factors that brought your grades down. Also, there were numerous formatting errors for character speech. When a character speaks, it's normally on its own line, instead of being part of a paragraph of numerous people talking.

5 levels. Pretty much the same thing applies here. Barely any activity, no battling, and a post or a few were only two sentences long, which is way too short.

Summary: Vincent Lance, an Aqua, is sent on a mission to retrieve the Dubious Disk from a secret, hidden Rebel stash at Montague Point. Little does he know that Adrian Korvaks, a Magma, has been sent to retrieve the same disk. Under cover as civilians, the duo work together to find the stash, all the while lying to cover up their true intentions, both oblivious to each other's status as enemies. When the stash is revealed, Adrian and Vincent's true colors are shown, and the two fight over the disk. Vincent escapes with the disk after defeating Adrian in a battle, but ends up with the wrong prize, which Adrian had taken right from under his nose.

A Dubious Mission
This was a great RP, especially coming from newcomers to Uprising. The plot seemed fairly simple at first: a basic retrieval mission. However, in the end, it was the twist that topped it all off nicely.


Fei Fei:
14 levels. Good level of activity, good battling, and overall good posts. There were a few minor spelling errors, as well as one or two short posts, but other than that, well done.
142 Mission EXP. This mission was fairly simplistic at first, which was good considering that you both were fresh recruits. The twist at the end and the overall execution of the roleplay both reeled in some Mission EXP as well.

14 levels. Pretty much the same as Fei Fei.

Summary:

Jaden soon sits next to the boy, Alexis Rosset, and begins to tell him of the plan. Alexis notes that they would need a larger group to pull this off. Fairly soon, Jened Tenkuu comes walking through the door eager to join in their group. After a few minutes of talking another trainer enters the cafe, James Raiche.

Upon great consideration, I have decided on the following grades for this RP. The reason this grading schema is not like my others is twofold: This RP was not finished, and is only being bypassed so that the players can move on to a new story, and because the last few weeks for me have been rife with distractions. Please forgive me for this.

One note: No factional XP was given out, since nothing happened factionally.

Mechanical Lullabye: 6/15. You had to leave, and I accept that, but this RP is so short, I considered not grading it at all. I have great confidence in your skill, and hope that with more time you can show the Uprising Community how well you can do.

Qpidity: 7/15: You had more time, and posted often.

Knil1: 4/15: You did not post as often as the other two, and there were some grammar issues.

Anduril: 1/15: I saw one post. If it wasn't for circumstances, I wouldn't usually even give that, but there were issues with the RP as a whole.

Sagira and Jay are assigned as the lower-level grunts to Ivy's mission but issues arise early on that break down the team morale. As the group falls into pieces, Victor aims to have Sagira and Jay 'taken down a peg or two'. Jay, Sagira and Ivy all give chase after Laird, losing her at the final moment. Both Sagira and Ivy are hospitalised and leave the health facility only to find Victor has teamed up with Linda, supporting her false allegations that Jay Lange had raped and abused her.

Review of Hidden Agendas

So this would be my first Uprising RP that I’ve read from beginning to end. I was worried that I wouldn’t get much of the story, but everyone worked together to provide background tidbits. I love the chemistry between characters; Jay and Sagira make a believable couple (not the disgusting lovey-dovey kind), and the Jay-Sagira-Victor partnership was equivalent to tossing sodium into water (maybe more subdued in the beginning). It ended with the promise of violent retribution, something that ought to get readers looking forward to the next installment.

I do have one criticism, however. I know Uprising is a different environment than PANE, but there was a significant amount of cursing, in particular a few F-bombs. No, it wasn’t every other word (which is why I didn’t take off any points for it), but F-bombs are generally reserved for R-rated movies. This isn’t an R-rated RP as far as I know. Global Forum rules state that it’s “not encouraged” so, for the children’s sake, watch your language.

In addition, there was a significant lack of battling, so that hurt most participants’ scores. I did not count human vs. human battles in those scores. Also, I was a bit lenient on the rank score, as I’m still learning how to distribute those points.

Interesting plot twist with the medicated Ivy. She acted human, and yet, her obsession on completing the mission seemed almost robotic, for lack of a better term. It was a good chance to show that Magma did not have a monopoly on the evildoing. Her childlike behavior seemed to be returning in the end, suggesting we may see more of the usual Ivy soon.
Nice flashback scene with the “pokemommy”. Very Lost-esque. Overall, nice work.

Not quite the traditional battles, but they were RPed well. I did like Beta and Kappa facing off with Alpha, trying to maintain pack stability with Ivy unconscious. Though you had three battles (against the Magmas, Laird, and Alpha) only one was fought with only pokemon combatants and all were rather short. I knocked off a couple points as a result.

This retrieval mission seemed difficult: going into Magma territory to kidnap someone was no easy feat. To top that off, Ivy’s leadership role quickly fell apart as the team got together. Finally, Victor’s betrayal proved to be the ultimate setback and ensured a very difficult part II with Magmas now aware of the Aquas. Ivy and Jay made quite an effort to go after the target, but ultimately lost this round. I think this was handled well, and the run-ins with Magmas meant some deviations in the original plan. For a mission that failed spectacularly and proved Murphy’s Law, I award the highest marks.

Despite dressing up like a cat, Sagira was someone who could be taken seriously. Around most people (particularly Victor and Ivy during the first part of the RP), she doesn’t take kindly to being a subordinate and often threatens violence. When she’s around Ivy during the hospital visit, she turns into a big pussy cat . Her friendly attitude may be due to a shared kinship (Ivy usually acts like a dog if I’m not mistaken) and possibly fear that her superiors may turn the needles on to her next time. Again, the interactions with Jay were realistic; he apparently has the ability to turn the “wild cat” into a giddy schoolgirl :P (see post 8). Overall, a great performance. I didn’t see anything particularly bad, so full marks .

Battles were not terribly popular in this RP. The only battle I saw was the small skirmish between Umbrae/Paladin and Alpha. On a technical note, I noticed that Paladin used his psychic powers to hold Alpha in midair. Dark pokemon are usually resistant to such attacks. Seeing that the Kirlia couldn’t do much more than that, I’ll let it slide. Though there was a battle with the Magmas, I saw no posts on how the pokemon were involved.

Sorry Team Rogue, but Victor stole the RP. His snobby attitude is something I have yet seen performed, and it was performed very well. His hasty attempt to apologize to Jay was the best moment in this RP; it’s very rare that I laugh while reading an RP. His emotions get the better of him when he switches sides just to get back at Jay, only to regret it later when thinking about Ivy.

Kudos on the use of Youtube videos to help describe music. Music is very difficult to put in words, so it makes things easier to understand. I look forward to seeing more of Victor.

Jay, like Sagira, doesn’t seem to take crud from anyone (except perhaps Sagira). I’ve said enough about the relationship aspects, but I will add that the stitches scene was particularly touching. My favorite parts were Jay’s encounters with the Magmas. The cocky attitude showed Jay’s defiance of the enemy despite the situation. His “parkour” skills made his getaways much more interesting than simple running, though it would have been even better if some equally skilled Magmas gave chase. Perhaps for another RP...

I do have one point that I’d like addressed though. In one of your earlier posts, you wrote:

“He didn't like the uniform. Oh, it was comfortable enough, and allowed him plenty of movement room, but it seemed odd, wearing a uniform that declared to the world that you were a member of the current Team that had overrun the city. He was keeping an eye out for anyone with a volcanohat.”

This paragraph seems to state that it is Aqua that controls the city (I’m under the assumption that they’re wearing Aqua uniforms). Yet, throughout the RP, they’re running into Magmas patrolling the streets, not something you’d see in an Aqua-controlled territory. It might have been a bad choice in words (“overrun” to me means in control), but it confused me on what was going on. For confusing my simple mind, I took off a point.

The big brawl between Jay and “Twitchy” was the better of the battles in the RP. The all-out 5 vs. 6 made for an exciting (albeit brief) action sequence. I liked the surprise rematch just when Jay thought he got away, but that match-up was all too brief. Perhaps next time, Jay should be joined by his better half for some good battle combos. Then again, I might be spoiled from your PANE exploits. Briefness keeps you from getting a perfect score.

The Ambush:

Generally, I found this RP to be a bit confusing. There were parts where it seemed things had been skipped over, or that characters appeared somewhere other than where the last few posts would have left them. This is especially evident in the beginning, and things became a little more streamlined in the end. Part of this may have been due to many characters leaving before it was finished.

I would also like to remind EVERYONE that the Rebellion is not very well known. They are a ragtag group of trainers, not a well organized machine. Not yet. Magma suspects they exist, but Aqua has no idea. Also, they most likely do not have anything uniform as far as clothing is concerned.

I'm concerned with a few things. There were times when characters set up resolutions to situations, and you then completely disarmed those situations by your next post. For example, there was potential with Maeko falling into the water, but by the next post you had twin solarbeams (far too high an attack for those levels, by the way) evaporate the water, and a defog (see above) dissipate the mist. I felt this was detrimental to your co-players and you were docked accordingly.

There is a bit of Mary Sueing in this as well (forgive me if you feel that the comment is insulting, but you must admit that having him know the highest ranking official in the base he ended up with is a bit suspect). I did not dock for this. On a high note, you did not make this make things easier for Jonah.

Skill: 3/5 As noted above, there were some times when you took over and made the situation too easy.
Battles: 3/5 Your battles were well done, but a bit easy. I liked the idea about how to counter the kecleons, but I felt there should have been some more resistance. Before this battle, you didn't have a chance to show your moves, since your pokemon were caught. If you had been able to battle prior, it might have been better. At one point you used attacks that were far too high for your pokemon to know, but I didn't dock here because they were not used in combat. Finally, I want to mention (but again not dock points) that ice attacks will not be very effective against a water type pokemon.

Things were confusing with you, especially in the end. There was also a bit of Mary Sueing, by making him well known within the Rebellion. On a high note, this did not give Blank special privileges. I did not take points off for the Mary Sueing.

I did, however, take off points for some pretty severe grammatical errors. Misspelled words, lack of capitalization, and lack of formatting for dialogue made it hard to read, and it reflects in your score.

Skill: 3/5 You had some grammar problems that made it hard to follow. Also, when Blank left the group, there was no mention of when it was done. He simply left, and that's jarring. Lastly, and this is a minor point, but throwing a Magma grunt into the same place you just threw his walky-talky is not a good way to keep them from raising an alarm.
Battle: 3/5 You had some bits of cleverness, and some bits of being over the top. You battled, but they were quick and one-sided. I took off 2 points for this, since your opponents barely had a chance to react, and one of them was described as having a stupid pokemon. >.>

I've always thought the idea was good, and the character had an opportunity to be a strong yet cute character, but I think her independance is overplayed. It was, however, very good that you acknowledged her weaknesses as well as her strengths, with her falling into water that was up to a taller man's waist. Very well done. There were some grammar concerns, which is reflected in your score, and at one point, where she had entered, things went a lot too smoothly for her. I would like to know if she calls it Novelus on purpose, or if you are misspelling Noverus.

Participation and Activity: 5/5 (that's 3 points for participating and 2 points for activity) While it could be argued that you weren't there to the very end, you got close enough. I would have liked to have seen you finish the mission along with Aubrey and Jonah, but I didn't dock for that.
Skill: 3/5 Please watch your grammar, and some of the speaking patterns were jarring to read. Post #56, third paragraph, last two sentences are a good example of this. You don't need to mention the warm cup of cocoa both times.
Battle: 4/5 Your battles were decent, but you did not battle during the mission, and to be fair, I had docked the others for battling less. You did, however, have more resistance offered than the others (in more detail, at least)

At the risk of sounding biased, I thought Aubrey was the best played character. She was interesting to watch, and having this nervous girl tagging along made a great contrast to the other, self assured characters. There were grammar issues, but they were minor in comparison.

Skill: 4/5 You played your character quite well, and were not afraid to make her stumble, fall, and fail. There were points where you rolled with things where the other characters steamrolled over, and that was refreshing.
Battle: 5/5 Your battles were interesting to read. I loved the way Aubrey used commands like "run in a circle" or "turn... NOW!" to use the environment to her advantage and to illustrate the fact that she is not as competent a battler as most. Your pokemon was the only one I know that fainted, and while I almost docked points for reviving her with a potion, she was not truly back to battling form until she had rested.

Summary: The thread begins with Violet Hunter on one of the rooftops, looking across the city in thought. She is spotted by Trace Warel, who eager to test his skills battles her. Partway through the battle the roof starts to crack a bit (through her Rhyhorn's weight) so they retreat down a fire escape, Trace falling near the end and getting knocked out. She helps him to the Pokemon Center, and as they spend the night there. When morning comes around they are greeted by two new trainers: Daniel and Richie. Shortly after they both introduce theirselves, two Magma grunts kidnap Violet and take her to an abandoned warehouse. There she discovers her father escaped from them some time ago, and the rest of the group come in and help rescue her. They escape up the buildings fire escape (where Trace gets knocked out again) and after some harrowing scenes manage to return to the Pokemon Center. There Daniel finds his old babysitter Helena, who was sent to take him back to Goldenrod to his father. After a bit of talking he manages to walk away, however the group's trouble has not ceased, as Violet discovers that she lost her Charmader during the retreat. She spots a Pichu using her Pokemon's Pokeball as a toy, so she sends her Rhyhorn after him, knocks him out then captures him. The trainers go their own separate ways as Richie takes Daniel to go get him joined up with the Rebellion, Violet returns to the Pokemon Center, telling the two that she would catch up with them later on.

Looking for Aid: This RP was, for want of a better word, shocking. And not in a good way. The first portion consisted of posts that were extremely short and I found the entire thing a bit confusing. Below are your personal comments but here are a few general ones first:

1. Battles. If you battle another player, PLEASE do not post one move and wait for a response. Take it to pms and have larger chunks posted in one go. This is your first and only warning (rt117 and Trace Warel).
2. Use a spellchecker before you post.
3. Write a bunny permission disclaimer at the start of the opening post. Putting words in another character’s mouth will otherwise be considered God-modding.
4. Read the rules and history of the teams before posting. There were mistakes thrown all over this RP.

None of you are gaining faction exp - no missions were clearly defined and so no points can be awarded.

I expect more from you guys, next time.

Squish, indeed. True, Storm could sit on a Pokemon and kill it but could he stand after all that battling? I doubt it. Pokemon get tired, too. Oh, and check your types – ground is NOT resistant to fire. Some of your posts were too short and you need to re-read things before you post them.

Good RP, though I didn't like that it was cut short. I hate when that happens. Enough chi-chat...

Efntlekh Egoizm suffered from laziness on my part, and an influx and outflux (making words up, the moderly way) of RPers made things shakier and shakier.

The plot, such as it was, was the Team Magma requesting Seymour's services (or not, they're damningly vague) as to bust a smuggling ring. He hires the poor to do his dirty work, and something happens with a man with a visor and something and we have fun. I'd like this RP to be considered non-canonical.

Not much to say here since the RP ended early. It certainly looked promising. Obviously, since the mission didn’t even start, no mission points.

April 26 was one hell of a day to RP :P.

He’s no mensch, but it’s nice to see someone who’s not a goody-goody. Seymour is all about business and is willing sacrifice a bunch of kids simply looking for work to get the job done. No wonder he’s lonely. You pulled off his character well, setting him apart from the rest of the pack. The Yiddish was a nice touch; it gave him a bit of culture. Full marks!

Battle: 1/5

Vs. Rotom: I am not a fan of the rotom battle. It was way too short; it only took one move to bring him down. The aron seemed unaffected by the electric attack. However, Aron is a steel/rock type, not ground, so it should have taken normal damage. You could argue that he grounded himself (clever tactic BTW), but there needs to be a line drawn somewhere. Otherwise, even water types would be resistant to electric attacks, so long as they grounded themselves :P.

I take issue with the rotom’s level (17); it’s higher than your team average of 15. Combined with the easy battle, I would recommend the level be lowered. That being said, I will assume the level was approved beforehand and not pursue the issue further.

Originally, this RP was the sequel to A Dubious Operation, where Adrian and Vincent would meet once more, this time at a Magma storage house. The Dubious Disk from the previous RP would have been stolen by a man and a woman, both high-ranking Rebel officers and, ironically, Adrian's parents.

Unfortunately, my partner, Fei Fei, has been....inactive, to say the least. Four months I waited, no reply. The only one I got was from some random person. After a while I left as well. I coped by retreating to fire Emblem Planet, where I have been very active in the Radiance Lost roleplay. This RP has bugged me, though, and I want to give it a proper burial.
