Has any one else been lucky enough to get a fossil egg or pokemon from shelter? I never thought anyone would abandon them as you have to have a fossil to get one and the fossils can be sold so why use a fossil if you don't want the pokemon? Not complaining just would like to know why people abandon them I've seen 2 or 3 hatched fossil pokemon missed them though and seen 2 Fossil Cranidos eggs missed 1st one but just got 2nd one now. Yes it has a previous owner so not from a ban drop. Maybe the hatched fossils were from someone who wanted a shiny form of them but what about the eggs?

I've grabbed a Fossil Aerodactyl egg before. I also abandoned a Fossil Omanyte since it didn't hatch shiny. Some people like me don't need the money and prefer hunting for their shiny forms

Yes I can see why people abandon the hatch pokemon if they only got it in hope of getting shiny form but I can't see why any one abandons fossil eggs.

I'm not one of them (I do abandoned hatched fossils) but I bet they're just trying to increase their stats. You do get a point every time you resurrect a fossil, after all.

Could be they click the fossil, not realizing they've already obtained the Pokemon. Rather than wait out the 20000+ clicks to hatch it, they just release it as soon as they can.

I could think of a few reasons:

1]They already have that fossil and don't need it.

2]They want to be nice and share the wealth.

3]They simply don't like that particular fossil.

Either way, the reason they abandon a fossil is usually the same as when they abandon any egg. Legendary or novelty or whatever, if they don't want an egg, they don't want an egg.

4) They're shiny hunting

I've seen a couple, but I never grab them. I'd rather obtain them by using an item so I can get the egg data into my Pokedex too.

Or maybe they're doing a trade with someone and someone was supposed to sit around to grab it?
I've never understood these 'trades', imo. I just can't imagine them working so well ._.;;

I normally drop a few when I don't hatch them shiny.

I have my corporate GPXplus achievement, so I have no need for points anyways.

Another reason: statistics.
I've resurrected a few fossils just so that I could gain a few ranks. Although... I would've probably hatched them anyway, in hopes of getting a shiny.

I'm planning to release a few hatched fossils myself, as soon as I gather 300+ releasable Pokemon.

I wouldn't adopt one from the shelter.

I like having my own.

I have 5 unique fossils in my inventory at the moment.

When I get my 6th, I will resurrect them all together!

I found a 100% ready Fossil Lileep egg in the shelter once, that was cool.
the owner wanted to hatch it but clicked the wrong option.

SigmaJargon usually drops them when he has massive drops, as well as DW and over Novelties and Legendaries.

The fossil eggs have a much higher number of steps to hatch.

Normal egg = 7,680 steps
Fossil egg = 20,480 steps

Also the eggs look a little different too I think. More rocky and craggy somehow...

Wait, do fossils always give you a fossil pokemon or only sometimes? I know it's a stupid question but...

Wait, do fossils always give you a fossil pokemon or only sometimes? I know it's a stupid question but...

Fossils gives always a fossil egg. But there is somekind of bug. When you resurrect a fossil it might give a egg from someones daycare(?).

Im try to get all fossil's evos and going drop all extra ones. Droped 9 so far.
I saw one hatched Fossil Lileep but not any eggs.
