Eh, not all that impressed yet, but new pokemon tend to grow on me in time. It just doesn't seem all that eeveelution-like to me. My opinion will probably change in time, but I'm not all that fond of it..
As for what I think it is, I instantly went with fighting. A pokemon doesn't need to be large and rugged to be a fighting type, especially if it's an eeveelution. I can't imagine them bulking up an eeveelution just to fit the stereotype. The ribbons make me think of a more graceful fighting style, some form of martial arts like Hitmonlee or Mienshao, rather than the hit-em-hard types such as Machamp or Hitmonchan. There's plenty of different styles of fighting, and quiet a few are similar to dancing. It strikes me as a graceful fighter. But then again, that's just my two cents. Fact is; none of us are going to know for certain until they release it :\ -------------------- |

Her name has been localized to Sylveon. That Steel joke I made in the Gen 6 thread seems a bit more likely now. I originally said Flying, but her French name is Nymphali, so now I'm thinking Bug. It would explain the butterflies all over her, too.

A light type would kinda make sense, but I really really doubt we'll be getting a new type.. I hope we don't, kinda happy with the types we already have :/
Flying or Fighting I'm calling. Flying because of the scarf thing and a slight resemblance to Skyla (imo) and just.. Yeah. Fighting because it can relate to Capoeira (A more graceful style of fighting, which is a brazillian martial arts with elements of dance and music) This post has been edited by Fiesta Larvesta: Feb 14 2013, 12:38 PM -------------------- Don't forget to love yourself. I don't like it... it's 'too cute'...
But I wonder which type it has. I would guess flying, ghost or fighting And about a new 'light type' ... I think Electric is already that Or light is with 'holy' ... which means we get some angelic Pokemons. This post has been edited by Kontrazent: Feb 16 2013, 09:30 AM -------------------- |

I am not fond of it. I will probably stop caring about it eventually, though.
As for typing, there's no precedent for adding types to Pokemon beyond balancing issues, and Dark/Steel pretty much took care of that over a decade ago. My bet is on Flying. -------------------- |

I'll admit being torn between Flying and Normal myself, i can see fighting characteristics and Bug characteristics too, and as much as i'd like a new typing to better combat some of the ghost/dark pokemon we have, I don't see a new type coming in as much.

I think Sylveon (Ninfia's English name) would be a Fighting or Flying type...there's also a slim chance that it could be Ground, but I don't really see how.

I rather like Sylveon.
As for its type I'm guessing normal. Although as others have mentioned it could be flying or fighting too. -------------------- |

Ugh. I hated Victini's design, and this one looks so similar in style. As for the type, I'm going to agree with Indoor Survival's guess for Bug. It has more bug characteristics than the other remaining types, such as the eyes and fangs. The only other type I can even imagine it being is normal because it looks so bland. It doesn't seem to hold any characteristics of fighting, ground, dragon, poison, steel, rock, or ghost. I suspect that if they were to release the flying Eeveelution, they would do so as a pair with the ground one.

I don't care for Sylveon but... whatever.
Also, it's totally a normal type. No doubt about it. The fact that people even question that is mind-boggling to me. It looks like a normal type (look at Skitty, Snubble, Clefairy, Audino -- they're all pink and frilly and "cute," and this one follows that lead), and it was shown using normal moves in its trailer. Now, I think the idea for even having a normal Eeveelution is dumb. But that looks like what it is. I can't imagine it being a flying type (I'd imagine feathers and something reminiscent of wings) or a bug type or anything else, honestly. -------------------- Check my GPXPlus journal to see what I contributed to the site! Who else is super pumped? It seems like, since Gen 3, it's every other generation we get a new Eevee or two, right?

I reckon they're going to troll us and it's going to be a fighting type, just because it doesn't really look like one.
Personally though, I actually would like it to be a light type. I'm in love with dark Pokémon and I'm always a bit traditional in thinking that dark always needs light to counteract it. Plus, light is a common magic type in RPGs, I'd like to see it in Pokémon too. It really is all just wishful thinking though, I don't really see them adding another type in, although Xerneas would really fit being a light type, and Yvetial (or whatever it's name is) looks quite like a dark. Who knows? -------------------- |
