is there a pokemon that you hung on to so long, that even to this day, you still have? (ex: migrated a pokemon from Ruby to Pearl, then migrated it again to Black).

i thought this would be an interesting topic, and i'm quite curious to see if anyone else has actually managed to hang on to a really old pokemon, and be able to bring it to the latest pokemon game version(s). i personally didn't hang on to any pokemon; i was always the type of person to restart my games. i did migrate pokemon before, but as far as i'm concerned, i haven't really hung on to any, due to restarting my previous games, except for my Rotom (Wash Form), which i migrated from my Soul Silver to my White version.

so, is there any pokemon that you really love from previous games that you simply just had to migrate them to your newer game(s) and hang on to them?

I actually have 3 pokemon in which I adore so much that I traded them from platinum to soulsilver to black. Those are Torterra, Staraptor, and Luxary. I know they are from DS but I still will hang on to them.

When I was like eleven or something I started a file on Ruby with a starter Mudkip named Mud. That file had about three hundred and fifty hours on it when I finally migrated them - n00bishly, I had only trained Mud and then gotten a bunch of random (mostly water-type, for no apparent reason) Pokemon. Mud is a level 100 Swampert on my Diamond game with the moves Tackle, Water Gun, Rock Tomb, and Mud Shot, but I can't bring myself to get rid of those moves. If I manage to get ahold of another DS, Mud will be transferred to White.

I migrated my Chimecho, Masquerain, Latias and Kyogre (4 of my favorite Pokemon) from Sapphire to Emerald to Pearl. I nicknamed Masquerain Masky and Chimecho has all four ranks of the Beaty Contest Ribbons and that Super Sketch Model Ribbon. I never really migrated them on purpose but they stayed with me so I guess they just have to ;P
I wanted to trade/migrate them to SoulSilver or White, but I restarted both SS and White and I might restart them again in the future. So for now they will stay safe on Pearl until maybe Black/White 2?

I went from HeartGold to Platinum to Black so my oldest are actually my Venusaur, Ampharos, and Noctowl.

Normally I transfer my trusty Gengar and Charizard throughout the Pokemon games. Currently there both on my white version.

Well, in my Emerald version, I loved my Rayquaza. So you know what I did? I cloned
it. And I transferred the clone to HeartGold. Then my White. I love my Rayquaza. Great stats.

Well, my Platinum file has its share of mons like this. Can't name any, because they're all special like that.

I don't trade to any other files because I Scramble on those, and I don't want them to be erased when I stat a new Scramble.

In mount moon on my firered, I caught a shiny zubat, sent it to my platinum, evolved it into a shiny golbat, and sent it to black, First legit shiny I have ever caught. I am never going to evolve him into crobat though.

I didn't really get into the games until I had my Dad take me to get Pokemon Sapphire. I HAD Gold, but I couldn't even figure out how to get out of my house, let alone get a starter, so my friends played it instead and my journey began with Sapphire. I picked a Torchic and clawed my way to the elite four, and soloed it with a level 65 Blaziken and level 45 Ninetales, the rest of the pokemon I had were death fodder, because I caught everything in sight and only really trained Blaziken. I managed to win the pokemon league and I was ecstatic, even going as far as to shout in glee in the living room and proudly declare my achievement to my not-so-pokemon-friendly family, who gave me a pat on the back and a "good job" and left it at that. I didn't care, I was too busy being happy about my game.

After that I worked hard and managed to acquire a team consisting of Blaziken, Groudon, Rayquaza, Latias *who took MONTHS to catch because I never grabbed the master ball from the base*, Latios, and Kyogre *who took me years to get because of something I did resulting in him not getting captured. You`ll see in a moment.* I transferred all of these pokemon to Diamond and am waiting to get them to Black, but there is one who will always hold a special place in my heart. And that is my loyal Blaziken.

Back when my journey began, I chose Torchic because it was adorable, and the most likable of the three starters at that time, though I do love Treecko and Mudkip just as much now XD. After I picked him, that Torchic and I went far, and we took on every challenge. Trainers, Gym Leaders, the league, nothing could stand in our way. I was proud when Torchic evolved into Combusken, and he was pretty much my best buddy in the game. I was surprised when he evolved again into Blaziken, who creeped me out at first because he resembled an old man to me at first glance. He got even more badass over time, and soon we conquered the league together, him and me. He was also the first pokemon I ever raised to level 100 without the use of cheats, and is one of only two, soon to be three, pokemon to have the honor of being raised without rare candies. My love for pokemon would have never blossomed into what it is today if it weren't for Blaziken, and I will always love and cherish him because of it.

After 9 years, I managed to procure a Nintendo DS Lite and a copy of Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Black. I decided to wait to migrate until I could find a way to make sure everyone could go right from sapphire to Black due to rumors of Diamond and Pearl crapping out on people, but then pokemon Sapphire gave me a scare in which I thought I would NEVER see my sweet baby ever again. When I got sapphire to finally play, I immediately loaded Diamond into the DS and Blaziken was one of the first pokemon to get migrated in what I called Operation: Sapphire Rescue. After I got everyone safely over to Diamond, I restarted my Sapphire just to relive the memories. I now have DS-friendly internet, so I`ll be cooperating with my best friend to get everyone over to Black.

While I love all of my pokemon, my Sapphire Blaziken is a lot more than just a piece of data. He's the very incarnation of what Pokemon is all about, and why I love the franchise. He was my best pokemon up until Sneer the Serperior, and he will always be my favorite of the hoenn pokemon.

EDIT: GAH! How could I forget the Kyogre thing? What happened was that I grew to love my Blaziken by the end of my campaign in Sapphire, and when I went to face Kyogre, it took out everyone except Blaziken. After failing to capture it and with Blaziken in the red, I decided I didn't want to see my most trusted partner get killed, and I ran away from Kyogre. I didn't save before facing him, I was relatively new at the games and didn't know any better, so I never had the chance to catch my Kyogre again. I ended up getting a Kyogre many years later from a friend who wanted my Gale of Darkness Rapidash for it. I still have no regrets about choosing Blaziken over Kyogre XD

I keep all the starters I sent from leafgreen and ruby to my pokemon diamond game.
I still have to sent them to pokemon black. I also kept all legends.
And I musn't forget the shinies I got in HG and pokemon diamond. I also need to send these to pokemon black.
There are more pokemon I just can't release. Like my gardevoir and milotic from ruby.
And all my ninetales and dragonites from leafgreen.

Sucky for me, I'm stuck on emulator, but there was one Pokemon I loved.

In my Pokemon Crystal, my team was terrible except for my high leveled Feraligatr, Splash.
I loved him so much I put him in the daycare with a Ditto and got another Feraligatr.
Now, when I battle with Splashtwo, (Splash's son) if a Pokemon KO's him I send out Splash and say, "Anyone who KO's mah son has to deal with me!" Then I utterly destroy the Pokemon.

To tell how bad my team was, when I was challenging the elite four, my Pokemon were level 20-38 except for Splash, who was high 40's and my beloved Suicune, who was level 40. With a little help from Suicune, Splash beat the Elite Four by himself.
(All Suicune did was go out when Splash fainted so I could revive him)

I get so attached to one, and I can't just leave them in Sapphire... He is almost ready to go to Heart Gold! Then to Black, and then to White 2! And whatever is after that! I hope!

I transferred both my Colosseum Ho-oh and Jirachi (I actually have that bonus disk still) to Ruby, Diamond, and Black. They will soon be traded to Black 2.
