[For Lack of a Be...]

RP Thread

It all began so simple, when Celestia called the Mane Six over for some 'urgent matters'. When the Mane Six arrived inside the throne room of the Canterlot Castle, Celestia and Luna told that they had discovered what had corrupted Luna into Nightmare Moon. They weren't quite sure of what it was, but what they did know was that it was located in the old Canterlot Castle, which laid deep within the heart of the Everfree Forest. The Princesses wanted to destroy this evil force once and for all so that it didn't corrupt anything else, so they asked for the help of the Mane Six, who all heartily agreed, believing that in the end the Elements of Harmony would help them, as they always had...

With many wishing them off with luck, they ventured into the Everfree Forest and with the two princesses guiding them, managed to reach the old castle. At first it seemed barren, but the princesses warned not be fooled, as the corruption could strike at any moment... So they carefully crept through the relic of a castle, the Mane Six silently wondering what history could have taken place here.

They searched through the whole castle before they reached one final room: The old throne room. Warning the ponies (including Luna) to stay back, Celestia opened the doors to a seemingly empty room, but the mighty sun princess could easily detect an evil force in the room, and soon enough Luna could too. Suddenly, a blinding fog spread all over the room and despite what courage they might have shown earlier, all of the ponies were scared, the princesses more frightened of what could happen to their loyal subjects.

In a fell swoop the fog was gone, suddenly being 'sucked up' by something, but it certainly wasn't the princesses' doing. Just as Celestia was about to warn the ponies about staying on their guard, she noticed that the Mane Six was acting weird, shaking their heads, holding their hoofs up to their foreheads, walking in an off-balance way, generally seeming 'woozy' in general, as if they had all suddenly come down with something. Luna couldn't help but find familiarity in how they acted...

Twilight Sparkle suddenly cried out that Applejack had done something, but Applejack denied that she had any idea of what the purple pony was talking about, covering her ears and generally ignoring the detailed theory that Twilight had come up with. That's when Fluttershy attacked Applejack, pinning her down and yelling that they had to take her down before she hurt them. Rainbow Dash began to claim that she did something much more horrendous than what Applejack could have done, causing Twilight to yell out yet another detailed theory on what Rainbow Dash apparently did and Fluttershy focused on tackling Rainbow Dash to the ground, only to miss every time. Rainbow Dash only claimed more and more of what she did, every so often looking around and smiling with a swagger at all the attention the ponies gave her. Applejack claimed that she had no idea of what the blue pony was going on about, attempting to dodge the yellow one's tackles. Rarity gave a low growl, yelling for them to all stop fighting because it was apparently giving her a migraine, and every so often she'd yell various insults that were rather harsh, both in tone and in what she was referring to. Pinkie Pie with her hair down and completely straight started to sob about how they were all fighting, claiming that she knew it'd someday come to this, yet whenever it seemed like the conflict would stop, she did something that just instigated the fighting all over again. Twilight finally declared that she always hated them all, cursing her friends, her family, and even her own mentor, spewing out more theories and reasons on why she should have every right to hate them so much. She began to try and cast spells on the ponies to repel them away from her, only causing the fight to grow even more.

Having had more than enough of this by now, Celestia with a tried patience yelled for the Mane Six to stop this all at once, but they ignored her in their fighting. She finally resorted to using the Elements of 'Harmony' to try and exorcise them of what they had become corrupted with. Luna tried to warn Celestia, but it was too late. Luna had tried all this time to say that she saw the evil force corrupt the Elements of Harmony.

Suddenly, as Celestia was using the Elements, she began to feel something... she suddenly began to feel pride for being such a powerful goddess and for her role of having raised the sun all this time, but then realized in envy that Luna was now gaining more popularity, she was stealing attention from her! A feeling of greed entered her as she wanted more attention, more, more, more of everything. In her gluttony she developed a lust for power, and became wrathful towards her sister, and soon to anyone who dared, or who she thought would dare, to oppose her. Everypony, no, everyone would bow to her! With a screechy and echoing voice, she cried out,
"I, Hellfire Blaze, declare that the span of dawn will last indefinitely!"
Celestia's white coat had become a tan white, her eyes turned into a piercing bright blue. A gold helmet now covered her head, only showing her eyes, her mouth, and her sharp horn, it almost seemed like what gold was on her was melting, though it really wasn't. And finally, her mane had turned into a fury of bright orange, yellow, and red flames that constantly crackled like a roaring fire.

A sudden bright, blinding light came through the windows, temporarily stunning everypony, even Luna. Celestia, or rather Hellfire Blaze now, flew through a window towards the Canterlot Castle, becoming a sloth towards her royal duties and neglected them.

At first everyone didn't seem all that worried about the abnormal sunlight, since it was just sunlight, right? They didn't think that it could be as bad as an eternal night, but then it stayed for weeks, eventually a month went by and the land became completely dry and barren. Crops failed and soon the population of Equestria began to starve, some even dying from the lack of food, more commonly from dehydration. It became unbearably hot and many have tried to find other means of getting food. Soon enough Equestria descended into a complete and utter chaos that would make Discord proud. Some have tried to reason with Hellfire Blaze, but they just ended up being attacked by her wrath. Hellfire Blaze not only made the sunlight unbearable, but also demanded that everyone worship her, even going so far as to visit all the towns and collect 'taxes' once in awhile, her gluttony accepted even food and other items as a means of payment, even though the residents of Equestria barely had anything left to give. Many wanted to stand against her, but almost all fear her power and what she could do with it. On more than one occasion has she shown a demonstration.

The Mane Six didn't fare much better, becoming the bearers of the corrupted Elements of Harmony, which along with their bearers have now transformed into the Elements of Hate.

Applejack became the Element of Ignorance.
As the Element of Ignorance, Applejack claimed that she didn't know anything about what anyone did, whether anyone accused her or not. However, she still didn't outright lie, but instead only told partial truths, sometimes even saying things that could technically be called the truth in another light. In her unknowingness she became apathetic, even ignoring the duties she had on the farm. When Big Mac and Applebloom attempted to call her out, she simply covered her ears and yelled, now being unwilling to learn anything else, and she'd always do this towards new information. She makes assumptions towards everything, refusing to be corrected for her mistakes.

Pinkie Pie became the Element of Suffering.
Pinkie became trapped in a cycle of eternal misery once her Element was corrupted, always thinking of what has and what could go wrong, as well as thinking about what couldn't go right. She's a very emotional element, mainly towards the emotion of sadness, crying at the tip of a hat for... well, just about everything really. But misery loves company and so does Pinkie, so she'll do things to pull others with her in her constant state of sadness. She even brought parasprites to her family's Rock Farm and The Sugarcube Corner, and then cried with her loved ones once the last of their stocks was eaten up and gone. She's a pathetic Element who always gives up on anything, claiming that nothing can be done, and that surely nothing can be saved.

Rarity became the Element of Pain.
Rarity felt a headache once the Elements were transformed, and it only grew. She feels pain constantly, once the pain in her feet goes away, it spreads to her jaw, but she always has a constant headache or migraine, how intense it is varies from time to time. Because of this she grew mean and cruel, thinking that someone or something must always be the cause of the pain that she's always feeling, more often than not it's the first. She gets rather snappish, just saying 'hello' will make her yell at what you want from her, blame you for whatever pains she has at the moment, and then yell a few insults, and maybe finish it off with a nicely wrapped 'the reason you suck' speech. Why, she did this just recently to Sweetie Belle, who had simply asked for where her saddlebag was. Almost instantly did Rarity scream that all Sweetie Belle did was take, take, take, just a pig that her parents dumped at her house with their constant 'vacations'. She talked down to Sweetie Belle on why she wished she never had an annoyance such as her, and then brought her own little sister to tears with the remark that she was just a piece of poo. She made Sweetie Belle run sobbing out of her boutique, which hadn't been getting much business lately. Partly because of the economy, partly because of the snappy and sarcastic Rarity remarks often made towards customers.

Fluttershy became the element of Fear.
This Element made Fluttershy a fierce attacker, boldly tackling anything or anyone that she deems is a 'threat'. A strong paranoia grew inside her, the fear that everyone was always against her and would attack her unless she attacked them first. Though tackling is her most common attack, she'll do just about anything else to ensure that nothing and no one gets to her. She's always dwelling on what could happen now, so in her head she always has to be prepared. Whenever she has to go out, she always arms herself with all sorts of 'protection' and 'weapons'. She acts on impulses, for actually thinking things through would only give the enemy more time to strike; She'd rather be wrong than dead, after all. In her own paranoia she drove every single last animal of hers out of her house, which had now become a wilted and falling apart tree. She almost decided to eat her animals to ensure that they don't attack her, but stopped herself when she realized that the food she makes them into could easily be poisoned. She also realized that her tree could easily fall apart on her, and for once an Element was right. So she kicked a dragon out of his own cave and now takes residence in it. In Ponyville she's the second most feared pony.

Rainbow Dash became the Element of Jealousy.
Her Element replaced her anxiety of messing up with the desire to be noticed by everyone in everything, and then that desire was ramped up by two hundred percent. She needed to be in the center of spotlight, she didn't want to become a one-trick pony who was passed by. She doesn't even care about what she has to do to get some kind of attention, as any attention is good attention in her eyes. She's become a bigger braggart than ever before, even going as far as lying and exaggerating her 'feats' to dominate the topic of a conversation, though she tries to sabotage the other competitors more than she shows off. She's very critical of others, always pointing out their flaws in hopes of bringing down their self-esteem so that she can claim it as her own. As soon as she saw Scootaloo fly, she immediately commented on how pathetic it was that it took her so long, taking advantage of the fact that the little squirt admired her so much, because she couldn't have Scootaloo catching up to her and eventually beating her. She's abandoned her dreams of joining the Wonderbolts, only because she can't stand to share the attention. Instead she became focused on bringing them down, reviving Gabby Gums to spread lies about everyone once again, mainly those that she thinks need to be taken down a notch. So far you could say that she's been successful; Recently the Wonderbolts have split up due to a heated argument about a supposed 'love-triangle' that was reported on in a Gabby Gums article.

And finally, Twilight Sparkle became the Element of Hexes.
Her Element was changed to the one of hexes, the Element that is the key to making the Elements repel and hate each other. Her magic has been replaced by bewitchment, now having an arsenal of spells that she can use to either repel herself away from others, or if they won't leave her alone, or even if she just feels like doing so at the time, she will use spells that can can leave one cursed. I'm not sure about how long these last, but I do know that they can get rather deadly. I wouldn't be one to 'underestimate' her and think that's all she can do, however. Twilight became a stubborn pony who thinks she has every right to hate everyone around her, even coming up with reasons and excuses to justify why she should hate them so much. She's either stuck in the past with how others have wronged her or making detailed theories on what she thinks they might have done now. But yet with how she always repels everyone away from her, both with her magic and her (corrupted) personality, she can never stay alone for too long, being a vindictive pony that actively attacks others verbally with her accusations. Twilight Sparkle had finally cast one last repulsion spell that teleported her and the five Elements to Ponyville, where soon after they split, rarely seeing each other ever again, at least not without a confrontation if they ever did. Twilight tried to make Spike deliver her hate letters, but he refused, knowing that she wasn't her usual self and escaped from the wilted and dried up tree that was now the Library to... well, it's really unknown about where he went, but with her bewitching magic she managed to create a dark fire of her own that would mass-deliver her letters to anyone that she could get the address of, which unfortunately seems to be just about everyone. Recently she's sent bunches of hate mail to her family in Canterlot, detailing how they've 'betrayed' her, how she thinks her parents were just using her as a trophy, about four letters were dedicated to her brother about how he was never really her 'BBBFF', and the rest were for Canadace telling of how she'd never accept the Alicorn as any sister of hers.

Luna was horrified with witnessing all this, having flashbacks of her own struggles with the evil force and how it corrupted her into Nightmare Moon. She tried to reason with her sister, but instead just nearly escaped her wrath. While Luna could try to rival with Hellfire, she could not over power her. She tried to reason with the Elements, but they all attacked her, eventually leaving her alone. Even the necklaces of the Elements that had remained at the old Castle were corrupted, she feared that using them would just make her Nightmare Moon again, and the last thing Equestria needed was two corrupted princesses. At a loss for what to do, she went to the Canterlot Gardens to sort out her thoughts...

Her hoofs crunched the dry and dead grass. Plants lifelessly drooped, some even falling apart. By now the animals had either died or migrated to find someplace else, though as we know that would be a fruitless search. When she got to the statues she accidentally tripped over a stone. Getting herself up, at first she paid no mind to the cracked and chipped stone, but then something on it caught her attention. Levitating it towards her for a closer look, she could see a faint symbol on the stone. Could it be...? She looked through all the other stones, all of them having symbols, as hard as they might be to see. When she saw a rusted box very similar to the other box that had kept the Elements, she realized that these must be other Elements of Harmony!

Luna wasn't sure about how or why there could be other Elements, what was most puzzling was that no one had ever spoken of other Elements- But by now the Lunar Princess didn't care, she'd take what she could get. So carefully placing the slightly ruined Elements in the rusted box they had been kept in, she put the box in her saddlebag and donned a black cloak. She decided that she would travel Equestria to search for the new Elements of Harmony.

And so Luna went off on her journey to save Equestria with only her hope to send her off, one can only hope that she meets allies on the way... though it will be inevitable that foes will come along as well.

2. You can only have two character roles (unless we have trouble filling them up), but you can make as many other characters as you like.
A. No Alicorns other than the canon ones, though if you really want to be one then PM me your form and I'll see. This also goes for Draconequuses.
3. NO GODMODDING! This means:
A. Controlling a character that isn't yours.
B. No auto-hitting, meaning that you can't have your character's attacks automatically connect, or hit another character. Like for example, you can't have this:
Nichole hit Sandy in the lower left jaw.
But rather, have this:
Nichole threw a punch at Sandy, aiming for the lower left jaw.
C. Making your character all powerful to the point of where they can't be beaten. The exception to this is if they're going against a character weaker than they are or are supposed to be powerful for plot reasons and other things like that.
D. Making your character know everything.
E. There are some other exceptions though, just ask if you really want to do something that might be godmodding and I'll say if it's okay or not.
4. Please make at least 3-4 lines in each post, though if you really can't think of anything and you've run out of material, then 1-2 lines is fine once in awhile, though if you do too many I'll warn you.

Appearance: Her normal appearance has now been corrupted. Her white coat is now a tan white, her eyes are a piercing bright blue. She has a gold helmet that only shows her eyes, her mouth, and her sharp horn. What gold is on her might seem like it is melting, though in actuality it isn't. Finally, her mane is now a mix of orange, yellow, and red, crackling like a fire.

Alignment: Though she is usually Neutral/Lawful Good, now she is a mix of Chaotic/Neutral/Lawful Evil.

Personality: In her corrupted state Princess Celestia is now a wrathful beast who won't hesitate to burn any that oppose her, at least not before she mocks them and asks what they will even do to her. She underestimates everyone, thinking that surely she is the most powerful, and if not then she will simply gain more power. She treats her subjects as slaves and... well, someone help them if they refuse, though she could really care less about them as well. However, she also doesn't like being ignored, and will do something to make sure that everyone around her is paying attention. She hoards various things like a dragon and has harsh punishments for those that dare to come into her throne room without permission. She is very prideful and certainly won't refuse any form of flattery, if anything you could potentially distract her with it, at least for a moment.

But the merciful, benevolent Celestia is still there somewhere inside her. She often talks to the corrupted personality, begging that she be merciful, at least this time, and will commentate on what Hellfire does... and amazingly enough, sometimes she can get Hellfire to calm down enough to be kinder than how she usually is, at least a bit, but at other times Hellfire will argue with this voice of reason, even loudly arguing with herself at times and yelling to those that question to stay out of it.

Bio: Celestia was born as a princess and when she was old enough, took up raising the sun with her sister, Luna, who lowered the moon. However, one day Luna refused to lower the moon due to no one appreciating the night, even Celestia was too caught up in her duties to spend time with her sister. She profusely apologized, but it was no use, Luna had been corrupted into Nightmare Moon. However, even then she knew that something wasn't right with Luna, but after seeing all her subjects suffering from the lack of a sun, knew that she had to do something... So regretfully she put her sister on the moon with the Elements of Harmony, soon becoming unable to use them due to her only friend, Luna, being gone.

She had to take up lowering the moon as well, her form changing to accommodate the new power she received. At first it was difficult, but soon enough she got used to it, the loneliness, her fake smiles, but did manage to find some sort of happiness during the 1000 years that Luna was gone, but it just wasn't the same without her. She set up an Xanatos Gambit that involved the element bearers, since she knew that facing Nightmare Moon herself might kill her own sister. After everything was said and done, she was excited to see her sister again (despite how calm she seemed) and had even tried to do things to soften Luna's image, like Nightmare Night.

However, then her and Luna discovered what had corrupted her sister in the first place... everything went downhill from there. Now that she's corrupted, she keeps all of her 'treasures', AKA the 'taxes' she collects in her throne room, like she's a dragon.

Relationships: Luna - She thinks that she's 'stealing' attention from her, making her wrathful towards her, while the real Celestia can only hope that Luna can do something, anything...

RP Sample: Pinkie Pie stood behind a counter in the Rhubarb Pastries, both the inside and outside of the bakery looked like a shadow of their former 'glory'- If the bakery ever had any, that is. The bakery looked like a wreck, Pinkie being in such debt that she couldn't afford to get any repairs, with nopony wanting to do them with what horrible credit she had. Like her bakery, Pinkie also wasn't in the best shape, her hair was straight, but also a mess and tangled, her eyes had bags under them from keeping her shop open late, desperate to sell something. And even though she could bake and the oven was fully functional, most of what she baked was put in the counter to try and sell, so she looked unhealthily thin.

But Pinkie's desperation wasn't just over paying the debt- it was getting Jadeite's approval in general. Why did nopony like her sweets? Were they too sweet? Not sweet enough? Was it her? Back at the rock farm, she was kicked out by her own family from the horror of not having a cutie mark related to rocks, like the family had for generations. She stumbled upon this city, hoping to make it big, surely these ponies would like her sweets... Soon enough, she just dozed off from not getting enough sleep.

Location: She used to live in Canterlot, but now travels Equestria.

Occupation/Class: Princess of the night and co-ruler of Equestria, at least when things were normal...

Powers/Abilities: One of her abilities as princess of the night was to raise and lower the moon, but unfortunately with what's happened she hasn't been able to do this. She was also in charge of making the stars in the sky appear.

She can manipulate the weather, mainly with making dark clouds appear and can also produce lightning from those clouds. However, her area of range at most is a small forest, and she's much more powerful with one cloud than a whole area of them.

She can shape shift slightly, mainly with changing her form, her most common forms being a younger version of herself and what looks like her Nightmare Moon form. She can also do other slight changes, but she cannot hide her wings or horns. She also has trouble copying others appearances.

She can make her voice extremely loud to speak in the 'traditional royal canterlot voice', sometimes even doing this unintentionally.

And finally, she can also use levitation magic and fly with her wings. She also has strong magic that she might be able to use for other powers and abilities in the future, as her magic that was de-powered during her 1000 year imprisonment is slowly returning.

Alignment: Lawful Good

Personality: While she has settled in considerably since she returned from being Nightmare Moon, especially since she visited Ponyville during Nightmare Night. However, she still sometimes uses the royal 'we' and other various constructs such as 'hath' and 'thy'. While she mostly has this under control, she can sometimes use her loud voice, mainly when she is very emotional, such as when she's very angry, and can also revert to using terms like 'hath' during these moments. She can have some trouble adapting to new situations, but after some time will start to feel a bit more comfortable and calm.

However, despite the fact that her image had softened considerably, she still has a side of bitterness to her. It's not too spiteful, but she still can't help but doubt her subjects in her thoughts, being both frustrated and incredibly sad about the thought of them still fearing her and blaming her for things that have happened. She often tries to be calm and serious, sometimes even bottling up her emotions when she thinks that there are more important matters at hand, and though she has gotten a bit better with handling her emotions, she can still be very emotional at times. Sometimes when she's pushed to her limit, she'll have an emotional outburst, doing things that she might regret.

Though it might not show now, she does have a soft side for some playful tricks. She also cares deeply for those she's close to and is mortified at the mere thought of something terrible happening to them... and unfortunately, some of her closest friends were corrupted, leaving her horrified at this. She also can't help but be guilty for what happened to them, blaming herself for not being able to stop them from being corrupted.

Bio: Luna was born as a princess and when she came of age, took up raising and lowering the moon with her sister, Celestia, who did the same with the sun. However, as time went on, she noticed that her subjects seemed to love Celestia more than she did, always sleeping during her beautiful night, when she worked so hard setting up constellations... She bottled up her emotions, and then finally one day, she seemingly snapped with her refusing to lower the moon. However, before then, she had felt woozy, always feeling headaches and not quite being herself... on the day that she finally refused to lower the moon, the evil force that snuck inside her finally took over, taking advantage of her bottled up emotions and corrupting her into Nightmare Moon.

During her corruption, Luna was locked inside some sort of darkness, unable to do anything but plead for Nightmare Moon to stop, but Celestia was finally forced to resort of sealing Nightmare Moon, and subsequently her own sister as well, in the moon for 1000. However, one day she was finally let free when the Mane Six used the Elements of Harmony on Luna, exorcising her of the evil that had taken hold of her. She wouldn't be able to explain in words how happy she was to see Celestia again, and more importantly, the outside world. Since then she has been recovering her powers and social status.

... Or at least was, until that fateful day when they found the evil that had corrupted her. She had a bad feeling about what lied there..., but now, despite her guilt, she knows that she can't waste any time. She must find the new Elements, her subjects lives, and Equestria in general, depends on it...

Looking at the scattered mess of papers on her cracked desk, she attempted to organize them by staking them in neat little piles, separating Adaline's plans from her own notes.

She stretched, seeing the morning sky out of a broken window in the abandoned laboratory. Why it was abandoned in the first place was unknown, but as far as she knew it made a pretty good base, "Good morning everybody!~" she called rather cheerfully, despite the conditions of what was going on. No matter what, she'd try to look on the bright side of everything, it helped to keep her motivated towards finding a cure for this virus, and for searching for her sister...

Ah, a MLP roleplay!

Name: Gearshift the Element of Patience

Gender: Female

Species: Earth Pony

Age: 18

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Location: Her shop/home is juuuust outside Ponyville

Occupation/Class: Mechanic/Smithy

Powers/Abilities: Gearshift is very gifted with her hooves, and can make pretty much anything you need. Mechanical wings? Sure! Cart broken down? Not anymore! High-powered rifle? Er, come back tomorrow. Might have that by then.

Weapon(s)/Equipment: Said homemade rifle, affectionately named Harbringer, and a well-worn tool belt with various hammers, screwdrivers, extra bullets, etc, and enough wire and metal to make a few small robots just in case.

Weapon/Equipment Appearance(s): Her rifle, specially modified for her hooves.
Her tool belt is little more than two highly modified saddle bags, the same shade of light brown as her coat. They have extra pockets sewn into the inside, and a gear as the clip.

Cutie Mark: Two interlocked gears

Appearance: Gearshift is on the smaller side of average size for a pony. If she stood next to the other Mane Six, the top of her mane would come up to just below Twilight's horn. However, she is very strong from working all the time in her shop: she can easily lift and carry a normal-sized bag of sand around her shop with her teeth.

Gearshift's coat is medium brown, with her hooves being dusted black from all the soot and ash around her shop. Her mane is green and cropped short, however the ends are still slightly blackened from soot and ash, and also from getting too close to a blowtorch once. Her eyes are the shade between light brown and burnt orange. And like anypony who makes her living amongst dangerous machinery, she had her fair share of scars. There is one small scar under her right eye and a larger one that goes from under her left eye down to below the edge of her mouth. Her hooves are marred from various burns and cuts.

Even when she is not working, she wears her red safety glasses around her neck. They are like her good luck charm. When she must fire her rifle-and she tries not to unless absolutely necessary, since it's a bit of a pain to reload-she stands on her hind legs like Lyra used to. Otherwise it is strapped along her back and she walks like a normal pony.

Alignment: A mix of Lawful Good and Neutral Good, leaning more towards Neutral Good

Personality: Gearshift is a very calm and collected pony. She is quiet, but not the way that Fluttershy was. Her quiet is more of a thinking quiet.. She has become a master at hiding her emotions underneath a mask of indifference. Even Twilight Sparkle's vicious theories appear to do nothing to Gearshift on the rare occasion that they are both outside and within earshot of each other.

Gearshift does not get angry very easily: in fact, the only way to make her angry is to insult what she does. Even then, her anger is like a cool blue flame, safe-looking but hotter than anything. If you manage to make her angry, watch out for anything mechanical left on your doorstep.

Bio: Before moving to Ponyville, Gearshift grew up in a mechanically inclined family in Fillydelphia. She, her older sister, and her parents worked in a shop that sold replacement parts and various luxury items, like small wind-up toys. When she was old enough, she moved to Ponyville from Fillydelphia to start her own business just a few weeks prior to the corruption of the Elements. She had time to setup a shop close to the outskirts of the town and sell a few pieces before Celestia was transformed into Hellfire Blaze.

Since then, the only pony Gearshift has been in regular contact with is Fluttershy. Since her shop is the only one that supplies weapons and defenses at a regular rate, the two mares have an uneasy truce: Fluttershy slips her demands on a piece of paper underneath the door of the shop. Gearshift works as hard as she can to meet those demands by the next day, and is not in the shop when Fluttershy comes to collect. In return, on the rare occasions when Gearshift is out and about, looking for food or scrap, she is not under immediate threat from Fluttershy's attacks.

Roxxy retreated further into the shadow, watching with a rising ire as the Militia bandits ripped apart her campsite. She had heard them coming-they were about as stealthy as a rampaging ox and half as smart-and she had managed to snatch up what few valuables she had and melt into the darkness cast by the building a split second before they arrived. But it would be difficult to replace all the food and water those bastards were now gorging themselves on.

She twisted the scarf in her hands, nearly to the breaking point of the fabric, and shifted her small backpack slightly higher on her shoulders. Grimacing, Roxxy pushed old memories and feelings to the back of her mind. There was a larger threat to deal with right now, and Duncan was the least of her worries…right?

Truthfully, that sickeningly persistent boy had been on her mind’s back burner for the entire two months she’d spent hiding out in Ascension Parish. And sleeping? Ha, forget it. She would tossed fitfully, jumping from hating Duncan to hating Roxanne to hating herself and back again until her exhaustion won out over her tormented mind. And if she was lucky, she could get three hours sleep until the rising sun screamed at her to wake up.

Roxxy shook her head, snapping herself out of her daze and concentrated on the burly gorillas now warming themselves by a fire of pages torn from one of the few books she’d managed to find. That did it. Roxxy snaked a shadow around the man closest to her’s ankle. He didn’t notice until he was lifted, quite suddenly, upside down. Roxxy hissed out a breath she didn’t realize she’d been holding and grabbed for another man. The two others scattered, dropping empty cans in their wake. The two currently being held whimpered and screamed. She dropped them, cutting their panic short.

Stepping out, Roxxy set to work, quickly stripping them of the booze and few drugs they had, the currency in this part of New Marais. Using her last bit of strength, she shoved them into the wall. Tonight her friends in the shadow world would feast. But for now, Roxxy felt ready to collapse, Duncan or no Duncan. Still clutching the scarf like a life raft, she straightened out the tattered and worn blankets that served as a nest to sleep in and collapsed on them, the scarf a ball pressing into her stomach. As she drifted off into a dreamless sleep, Roxxy hoped nothing unusual would wake her up.

Weapon(s)/Equipment: His Main weapon of choice is his Mechanical eye, which is also used for welding and such. He uses a Large wrench and automatic Hammer to put together his 'Masterpieces'.

Appearance:

Dr.Vaxlar Cogshire is a dark copper brown pony, With a black and brown mane and tail. He has a bright green eye, with a rather dragon like pupil. He is perhaps one of the few ponies that actually has a mustache, which he keeps well groomed at all times. His mane and Tail, however, have a tendency to be caught in his various mechanical devices, and are thus somewhat uneven and spiky. his ears have been cut by one of many unfortunate accidents. His hooves are a bright tan color, and he is a somewhat shaggy pony.

Perhaps the most noticable feature of this pony is his many mechanical enhancements. This are the results of many different Accidents happening with his less successful creations. His knee was the first replacement he ever made, so it was only the bare essentials. his upgrades became more and more flashy with time. Despite this, many of his 'enhancements' are actually more brittle than the rest of his body, and must be repaired constantly.


Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Personality: Due to Years alone working on his Inventions, Dr. Cogshire has gone a little screwy, No pun intended. However, He is So very Intelligent that it makes up for this flaw. He Can be a bit Morbid, and is known to be Macabre. Despite this, It is suggested that making friends with him would be better for your health. He is incredibly lonely, despite the way he acts. He enjoys Intellectual Games like chess.

When he is working with his patients, he is very understanding and knowledgeable. he understands that these ponies are going through some rough times, and many of them have done things they regretted. Even now in these dangerous times Dr. Cogshire is calm and collected in everything he does.

Bio: Dr. Vaxlar was orignally employed as an average therapist, helping ponies with various problems get over their predicaments. He lived in Canterlot for some time, working as good as a pony like him could. That is, until the Elements of harmony changed.

A little bit before everything went downhill, Rarity hired him to get rid of a terrible headache she had been having, claiming it stemmed from her friends fighting. Dr. Vaxlar gladly accepted. He began to try to figure out what was wrong with her. This proved impossible, and he began to try to use unconventional methods, go so far as to try to get a sample of brain tissue for analysis.

During the days were it began to become worse in time, Dr. Vaxlar became more and more defensive, even going so far as to move down to Ponyville where it was less crowded. He built a house near the edge of ponyville, which, as time progressed, became more and more fortified as things turned into chaos. Although he doesn't have any turrents up yet, he plans on doing so if things become dangerous for him.

RP Sample: The Cat Bus gave out a meow. It seemed to be notifying Totoro of a strange mist that had surrounded it. He looked out of one of the windows in to the fog. He couldn't see a thing. How odd. The Cat Bus's monotonous, rickety pitter-patter that came from his five pairs of legs came to a stop as the Cat Bus attempted to stop. The Cat Bus gave out another meow, asking him to get off. He placed his feet on the soft fur of the walkway and moved towards the door. It gave out it's usual sound as it grew large to allow him off.

As soon as he stepped off, the Cat Bus rushed off once again. As it did so, the fog faded away, revealing him to be in what seemed to be one of the human made caves, which they called tunnels. The ground was consistent an interesting stone of which he had seen the humans walk on before. It was the lighter grey stone, so he didn't have to worry about the mechanical beasts they called cars attacking him. It felt funny underneath his feet. he looked on the walls of the tunnel cave, and saw interesting pictures. they were bright in color, and drastically complex. Their colors were like nothing natural.

Totoro walked out of the Tunnel cave, and looked up. in what appeared to be human picture-letters there was a message. it was unfortunate that he could not read their language, but he didn't seem to care. as long as he could understand their speak, everything would be fine. he sniffed the air, smelling plants, he began to walk in that direction. He seemed oblivious of everything except reaching some sort of Nature in which he could Commingle with.

As he reached the area, however, he was disappointed to find only a few small, dead trees and a tiny statue of the animal that humans called a dog. He quickly got over this disappointment, however, and touched one of the trees. His powers caused the trees to grow little buds. He stood back, and made a upward pulling motion. The tree grew larger, and the buds popped into full grown leaves. He gladly sat in the shade that the trees offered. He wondered why he was here. Perhaps he was brought here to bring this place back into nature. It would certainly be fitting of him to do so. He gave out a small grumble, and flopped over into the soil the trees had been planted in, and fell asleep.

Other: This was originally made for another Roleplay, and I think it's Ironic the other Pony that has signed up is also Mechanics related.

Weapon/Equipment Appearance(s): The leather armor he wears is all black, with the horn being the only thing colored differently- it matches his hooves, making it appear as if he's actually an alicorn, not a pegasus.

Cutie Mark: A black Quill, dibbed in white ink.

Appearance: His coloration isn't bright or eye-catching in any way. His entire pelt is an off-shoot of steel, dark like the night sky. His mane and tail are streaked in light gray and black, with his eyes a soft moon-gazed yellow. He has large wings, tall legs and a slender build with pointed ears that are generally kept back, hidden in his mane. His hooves and 'horn' are the color of beach rock- a sort of green-gray. IMAGE

Personality: Despite his appearance, Korn's actually quite the talker and he's always got a story to tell. He travels constantly, and the fate of remembering every detail of his journey has left him tired and worn- life's not been kind to him. He's known as a kind and giving pony, though, by those who've come to know him properly. His actions are almost always selfless, which is part of the reason why he comes off as... strange. Too many memories. Too many nightmares. A very troubled soul.

Bio: Korn was born into a nomadic group, a mixed family of unicorns, ponies and pegasi alike. He was taught to give, if ever he shall receive. His mother was a sort of gypsie, putting on great acts and preformances for the ponies they'd meet in their travels and earning just enough coin to get them by until the next town. His father ran the caravan.

It became apparent and known quickly, Korn's unique ability. He'd bring up things, little details of events gone by, many days after it had happened, after it had long left the minds of his peers and parents. They all but worshipped his treasured powers, which in turn led to many corrupted and greedy 'friends' trying to get information from him, using him for his gift...

In his early years, he'd witnessed death and tragedy. Though many of these horrible instances were not personal to him, the images never did fade from his mind. When the day came that his family fell victim to the corrupted world around them, he was left alone- the only survivor of his family line, and one in five of the caravan's group. The remaining members of the nomadic family turned and went their seperate ways, too afraid to go back to the life they'd been living before. Korn continued to travel and on the way, saw and heard many things that became words of tale and lore to the ponies he'd meet later on...

If only they knew of his suffering, the price he pays for the stories he weaves.

The grass was green, now. Lush and thick. So different than it had been years ago, when the ground was still freshly bitten by the fires. It looked just like it had when he was a young colt, playing in the grass without a care in the world, practicing to fly and memorizing every sight, sound and smell. Moon-kissed eyes glanced down to where his hooves touched the ground.

...Are you still here, Mother? Did you never leave this place?

Tired eyes gazed out at the feild of grass, watching it as the wind made it dance and sing its gentle song. Korn knew this place, because he'd stopped here many times with the caravan while still a youngster. His mother had loved the gentle silence of it, the peace it'd bring to the family after many hard days of working. The last time he'd been here, the fires had taken away all of it- now the new grass and short trees looked as if they'd never been without.

Are you still watching me? Shall I dance for you again, mother? Will you dance with me?

The tired stallion rose to his hind legs and spun, using his wings to keep him upright. With well-practiced steps, he spun and twirled, leaping and gliding as if it were a natural talent- not one he'd forgotten for so long as he did. With no music to guide him, each step seemed methodical, as if planned out beforehand, though his mind wasn't on the dance.

Will you dance with me, someday? Will you come out and play with me again, Mother?

As long as nobody thinks he's too Gary Sue, I think he's fine as is. I worry about that a lot, because I've made enough characters now that it's hard not to make the same one twice- I try to be different about it every time. He's pretty unique as far as my characters go, so I'm happy with him as is. I just want to make sure everyone's okay with his sob-story.

In truth, I don't really think that he's a Gary-Sue either, but what I suggest is to not have him 'give too much', or maybe have consequences for being a bit too selfless. But anyways, your character is accepted!~

Actually, I did say in the rules that you can have two character roles, so it'd be alright if both were element holders. However, personally I think that playing twins where only one is an element holder would be interesting, especially considering how close some twins can be. If you want, I could reserve a spot or two for you.

Alright, a bit of a dilemma here... It's been some time, but all the roles aren't filled, and I wanted to at least fill those before we start (and just as a reminder, you can take two roles at most, so if you already have a role feel free to take another).

So, what do you think I should do? Should I start it early and hope that others join?
