Hey, I checked up the entire forum and couldn't find any similar topic so that's why I made a new one. I just bred my machop's egg and instead of getting a normal pokemon I got something that looks at least weird. Im not going to post any links here (dont want to be warned). It's pink (!) and looks kinda drunk :) No, it's not shiny... anybody knows what it is? I checked the wiki and it is not listed there as a novelty pokemon...
P.s. It's in my party if anybody wants to look at it. |

That Machop has hatched with a retro sprite (its Red/Blue one to be exact). Some Pokemon have a slight chance of hatching with a different sprite from a different generation of the game.

So I guess I can say that I am quite lucky? :) How many 'versions' of (let's say) machop are there? Just the normal, retro and shiny ones?
My other question is, can I evolve it normally? |

Yes it evolves normally. It'll still retain the R/B-style sprite. Also, yes, the only forms of most Pokemon are the ones with the default sprite, a retro sprite or are shiny. There are a few that have novelty forms too.

QUOTE Some Pokemon have a slight chance of hatching with a different sprite from a different generation of the game. Is there like a list of pokemon which can be bred with that retro sprite? To be honest I haven't seen any other retro pokemon apart from my machop... |

Pokémon breed with whatever is in the same egg group. A different sprite doesn't affect anything except how it looks. If you want more alternate sprites, you can use a Sprite Changer on a Pokémon or use Pass Orbs on Sprite Power to hatch alternate sprites. -------------------- |
