I do it by:

hmm..i usually decide on how it looks...cause usually the egg looks like the pokemon somehow and if i like the look ill like the pokemon...that sounds so terrible

I usually only go there if I'm looking for a specific Pokemon. I wanted a Torchic, so I went to the Shelter and refreshed until I found one. ^^

If I want it, already know I wanted it, one Ive been searching for, (Elekid and Piplup eggs, missed both of them today.

I usually look for eggs that are rare, like only seeing one of that kind or I've never seen it before.

If I see I pokemon that I just must have then I grab it while I can.... But I haven't done that for a while. Lately I just go for eggs I don't have. Since there is a lot of those >.> I look and see if they have already been clicked a couple times and I pick that way... But again lately I haven't been doing that so much. I stopped training so much and I am going more to the hatching... I have already gotten the max 6 eggs from the shelter today, first time... I didn't even know there was a max >.> So just filling up my PokeDex
But today when I pick up some eggs I am going to look for pokemon that evolve with the few stones I have... Murkrow and Misdreavus, Snorunt, Togepi, Sunkern..... I usually go for an egg I've never had before or a duplicate if I'm trying for the opposite gender.

It all depends on what I'm feeling at the moment. I'm constantly trying to get a female Ledyba (4 males) and Togepi (2 males) and a male Machop (2 females), so if I see one of those I try to snatch it up. Then again, I am also trying to get new PKMN so if I see something that I haven't seen in the shelter much before, like a Tauros or Beldum, I'll grab those first.
-------------------- I click back~ (As long as I'm on and see you clicked, before it resets.)     When I finally find a Ditto he is getting glomped like there is no tomorrow. Beware, little Ditto~ How badly do I want Ditto?
