Is there any way to influence the natures of the Pokemon you're breeding, or is it just random? As far as I've always been aware it's random, but I just thought I'd check. I'm trying to get the achievement for 6 Adamant Rattatas, and so far I've bred nearly a whole box of them and haven't gotten 1 adamant. I know that's not a lot of Pokemon in the grand scheme of things, but I have also noticed I seem to get a lot of naive ones, so it made me curious if something is influencing it or if I just happen to be hitting that random roll a lot.
Neither of the parents are naive -- Jolly Ditto and Bold Rattata. No clue if that makes any difference. -------------------- |

It's random, as far as I know. You're just lucky (or rather, unlucky) to be hitting that nature a lot.
And there's no item to influence the natures of the Pokemon you get. -------------------- |

There's nothing known to influence the natures of Offspring. At least nothing openly stated.
Sorry to say. -------------------- |

There are 25 different natures, so not having an adamant one after under 25 rats hatched is totally normal. Having several of the same nature is the lucky thing, even if you're unlucky enough that's it's an unneeded one. x)
You can also be VERY unlucky. Want to feel less lonely ? I've hatched 244 Rattatas so far, i have 4 adamants. yep, that's right, i got those four in the average 100 eggs hatched. I just haven't hatched a SINGLE adamant rat in 144 eggs... xDDD On the other hand, some people got their 6 in under 100 eggs total. So, it's totally random, and you can't influence it whatsoever. Just cross your fingers. This post has been edited by Tsukichi: Jul 29 2010, 06:20 PM -------------------- |

Okay, good to know. I'll just keep at it! Hey, maybe I'll get a shiny while I'm going; I did start a Shiny Hunt just in case. XD Though they're breeding so quickly I'm starting to worry someone else is gonna get my shiny; people are snatching up these eggs left and right. Guess a lot of people are trying for adamants or shinies.
Anyways, thanks for the answers. Guess the more hatched, the more chances I have at the Underground. Good luck to Tsukichi and anyone else trying for this same achievement. -------------------- |

Oh lord, just looking at this makes me less and less inclined to try for that achievement. Just trying to get my Tauros and Miltank make babehs is hard enough. The two Pokémon can hardly stand to even look at each other. , nightmare I tell you.
