The Power of Friendship was created by NeonEspeon.

Hello, fellow RolePlayers! The school year has come and gone for most of us in the U.S.A., and now seems a good time as any to reboot a golden old RolePlay. The Power of Friendship had at least 12 members and lasted 27 pages, nearly a month and a half. Can we best that? I believe so. The question is, what will we do with this new RolePlay? TPOF was an all-pokemon sandbox sort of RP, meaning that players could do whatever they wanted with their characters, and no particular plot was specified. It did work out well, of course. It was 100% player-driven. Setting was not official, but it was possibly somewhere within the thick trees of Sinnoh where none to minimum of trainers traverse. There was a maximum limit of 3 characters per person, and players could choose if their character(s) would be good or evil. More details can be found in the original thread. The most prominent question as of date is what of the original to keep, what to loose, and what to add. In addition, we need a cool new related name. There will undoubtably be good and evil pokemon, seeing as that is the core feature of the original RolePlay. However, will we simply continue the story from where it was, now featuring new Pokemon? Or will it be entirely different? (I, personally, am leaning towards not simply just continuing the plot as the end of TPOF.) Please post your thoughts on the matter. And no, you do not need to have been a member of The Power of Friendship to post your thoughts.

Other factors to consider... will it be the same setting? Should the rules of the original roleplay stand or be modified? Should a solid plot be added? For characters carried over (assuming that people from the original will carry over their characters from TPOF), will they be completely re-booted and put on a clean slate (as in, assume the events of the first didn't happen) or will they somehow be trasported to the new time and/or place of the reboot?

3) You can be a minor legendary or a shiny, but you can't be both.
4) Maximum 3 characters (by popular vote).
5) Disregard rules 2 and 11 . The real password is "THE REAL SUPER POWER OF BACON...oversea travel.
6) Good can become bad, bad can become neutral, neutral can become good, good and bad can become neutral, and all the vice-versas and all that. Anyone can change, basically.
7) This RolePlay is fast-paced, so be sure to keep up. Let us know if you're going to be inactive.
8) You can swear, but try to limit it. (No f-bombing us all to smithereens.)
9) No humans besides poachers and backstories.
10) Have fun

It's great that generation 6 will come out soon so that there could be more characters to choose from.
The point of TPOF was that I wanted others to contribute ideas. So I think everything should probably just stay how it originally was until plot twists are developed and whatnot.
One thing I do probably want to see changed is the character limit. It gets too much for me at times. So I think it should go back down to two characters instead of three. And maybe we can throw a new category into the mix. I think neutral should be added. It can create some interesting situations. But that's what I think should happen. I'm interested what will happen with TPOF (part 2).

True, however, I don't think anyone should choose any Gen 6 Pokemon at the start (unless this doesn't start for a couple months) due to the lack of information on them. But certainly as the RolePlay progresses, time goes on, and more is known, people can choose them.

The whole everyone-makes-the-plot thing worked out well for TPOF, but I've gotten conflicting opinions on this so far on the 2 feedbacks I've recieved, and am conflicted myself. If we keep it free, it has a chance of being just as or more successful and fun as the last. However, people might get bored and inactive of this. If we add a plot, it might last longer, but at the same time it take away from the original and becomes more like every other RP. At the very least, I believe that should we add a plot, it should be minimal so the characters can still have breathing room.

Back down to two as a character limit? Sure. Another character category? Would enough people sign up for us to be able to make a neutral category? How would it work out? It's an interesting idea. Maybe then one of the plot goals is for the goody-goodies to sway both the neutral and the evil to good? Hmm...

The location of my sketchbook is taking far long than expected. Whether or not I join will be up to its discovery. The reason for this is simple. I really do wish to use my Jolteon fellow.

Ryan Tain, a character who'd started out as a Gijinka in another RP, shall be used as a normal Pokemon. ... Now I'm debating, depending on the semi plot [loose plot?], whether to bring in my couple; Rena Baites [Arcanine] and Luke Thundermore [Raichu]. Sure, their information is all lost, but the image and names are still there... as well as some basic remembrance on their personalities. [As well as a few songs I listened to when creating them.]

If you're stuck on the idea of pick-your-own-plot thing... If you've seen The New Generation going around... Me and Quo have gotten over 100 pages from doing just that. It's been very loose and works out well.

Of course, that was only 2 people.

I would like to join when this starts up... Because... I CAN'T BE LEFT OUT :'(

Perhaps have 'side-plots', that not everyone has to be involved in? For example, I have a side-plot waiting for an RP I'm in which involves only a few characters (most of which are mine), and is mainly used for backstory revelations...something like that, perhaps?

Speaking of backstory - would a backstory be allowed to include trainer involvement? For example, if I wanted to use my Sableye from my Emerald playthrough, would it be allowed to be said that he travelled to Sinnoh after his trainer disappeared? I don't see why not, but x3

Hmm... Then, with a bit of tweaking, I could have almost the same points. Kidnapped, different bases, escaped. Luke and Ryan would have met in one Team [Rocket, Lava, Aqua, whatever], while Rena is in another. Luke goes all furious trying to escape, thinking Rena is dead, Luke fights Ryan, Ryan barely wins, helps him escape, they find Rena, and are now traveling together. Side? Survival [neutral], probably.

I'm not in TNG so I know nothing of this stuffs But if you guys want to take plots and stuff, go ahead.

@AA: Yes, of course. Trainer-backgrounds were in the last one, in fact the owner of it (NeonEspeon, if you all didn't pick up on that yet) had a Pokemon that ran away from an unloving trainer.

So, I'm hearing that people would want a loose plot or simply side-plots? *Slams judge hammer on table* Will do! Now, let me brainstorm for a moment...

Alright, here's for human involvement, if you guys like it... what if, for a little bit we let the good, bad, and neutral (if we have neutral) Pokemon interact and battle and blah blah blah for a little... then maybe Poachers begin to enter the forest and invade and stuff. At that point, we could see what will happen... maybe the evil pokemon will start turning good and uniting against the outside force, or maybe they all go solo with it. Also, I'm thinking we should make a new setting. For the heck of it, is anybody here good at drawing maps? Maps make things easier. Iunno.

Or, we could be at the same setting and have it take place maybe a year or two after the last one? So we could say that all new Pokemon moved in in that amount of time, and all old Pokemon that aren't there moved out, got caught, etc etc. But I'm not that bent on using the same setting, and I really want to re-use Magma. X3

Also, we have our first official button! Arceus Awakened made it. And it's really awesome. (Um... is it okay if people other than me use it, by the way? Just in case people want to use it...) Yes, that is Kolink (shiny shinx) and Magma (quilava).

Anyway, I'm assuming legendaries won't be allowed as normal characters...any other rules on that? Like, for example, would it be allowable to have a green Pikachu if the backstory explained it?

I've been thinking of this plot in my head. What if the Pokemon from the original RP are either A) Best friends foreverrrrr B) Mortal enemies C) Somewhere in between. This itself could be a plot. :U

Also, here are some minor plots. (Mini plots to use when there's nothing else to do.)

Someone good defects to the bad side/vise versa.
Someone is captured by a trainer/poacher.
Someone gets amnesia
Someone is captured by the evil Pokemon (Hostaaaage! XD)
A natural disaster is always a good plot twist
A rivalry is always nice
A new area is found with unknown secrets or something
Someone dies.

That's all I can think if off the top of my head. XD And I can make a map, if you want. cx

Eterna Forest is in Sinnoh, between Floaroma Town and Eterna City. It houses the Old Chateau, and is where Cheryl joins your party temporarily.

Well, perhaps they just met up there after going for various reasons? For example, to see the Abyssal Ruins, to go to a show in Castelia, to visit family...or, in the case of new characters, they may have already been there.

Alright, so this is kinda a continuation of my last post... what if we had the Pokemon's descendants/ancestors that were identical to them? Maybe... ooh, how many of you have seen Arceus and the Jewel of Life? Maybe they did something... then... with stuff... This is a bad idea I need to stop 'contributing' ideas

Actually, last time, I think we were closest to Hearthome and Solaceon (the one with the daycare... I hope I got the name right..) but we never really specified that I guess. :P I mean, we're basically assuming that in the wild (eg... those annoying trees you try to walk through but it keeps going "thud thud thud" because it's the game boundary...) any kind of Pokemon is there. So I personally am fine with going where ever you guys want. It won't make any difference to the Pokemon... they're Pokemon.

As for how the characters traveled... maybe poachers carried them on their poacher-ships in cages, and after a while they broke out. About a year would have passed, and the Pokemon would have probably been split up and convinced they wouldn't ever see each other again. (Yes, I mean that chances are they would have even split Noel and Cyan. (I really hope I'm remembering their names right.) But that's up to you, Quo.) Yes? No? That could also explain why poachers would be invading the wild more and more... to find the lost Pokemon... especially the shinies.

And if you look in a couple of my posts, I had put Gale running up to a resort, like a hotel place or whatever. Wouldn't that mean that they were near those 3 town places? Like there was the Battle Tower, uh, the Resort place, and the other place I never cared about. XD Idk if they were there.

But I like the idea of poachers catching us all. It makes sense, I mean, there were like 12 shinies running around. :U So if poachers caught us all, then we either escape or.... Yeah, we should escape. XD And they escape... S then they would have to make the best of living in whatever forest-river-beach-jungle area they end up in?

(And yeah you got the names right. XD)

Anyway, I have a rumour idea! It's rumoured that there's treasure in a deep place in Lostlorn Forest, but anyone who approaches is scared away.

It turns out that it's just a Ditto who has mastered transformation to the point where he can transform without having to see the Pokemon, and is now studying emotions in different Pokemon and so is luring them in for his study...or does it? Maybe there really is a great treasure...

is my Ditto A remake of a character from long, long ago.

The poacher idea is starting to grow on me. I also liked what Quo suggested when everyone could somehow spent all this time separated from each other (so it's kinda like we're starting all over) and have to get acquainted again. Also I'd like to mention something that's been in my head. I know everyone has lives and can be busy. I'm not asking for regulars to only post in TPOF. Of course new members are more than welcome to post and be apart of our little TPOF family. All I'm asking is, if you think you're going to be way to busy to post here then maybe it's suggested that you go to a slower paced thread (I can already tell it's probably going to be a fast paced thread). I'm not asking you to devote all your time here, just if you do sign up, don't forget about this little place we have

So...when would be a good time to relaunch TPOF?

Fast paced... hmm... For this RP, I shall use my phone to post when nessesary. Just... bear with poor grammer and spelling when that occurs. ^^; (I‘ll try to find my dictionary to bring with me on the trips, though, so less spelling errors. ^^

I can't post during any of this time. Okay, so poachers, and the characters have spent a while apart so they have to get re-acquainted. *Slams judge hammer down again* So, how long? A year? A year and a half? Two years?

Kolink will be a shiny . Aww yeah. And I'll make a new insane character in the place of Magma. Who may or may not have a breif debut as a for a battle or something. I think it's safe to assume Magma has completely regained his sanity by now, and is happy and all that. I should make another pokemon (or two). Speaking of, should we have a two or three limit? Actually, I'm going to take a vote.

Oh. So, being new, I cannot start off with my guys being escapees. However, thinking about it, that's good, because I can have them be captured later on, thus showing Luke's major change in personality and Rena's change to, probably, self survival. Ryan is to hardcore to change much. :P
[By the way, have most of the profiles started ahead of time. They're not with me right now, though.] Arcainine/Gowlith [I'm still thinking on if Rena should be evolved yet or not], Raichu [Luke], and Jolteon [Ryan]. [Way to lazy to check if the spelling is accurate. ^^;]

"Camp" is a... um, relative term... we're in cabins most of the days. And it is fun! Mostly because I don't have to deal with either of my parents or kids from school.. Um, yeah. The peeps there don't even care that I'm a huge nerd. XD Well, not like I go around screaming "HEY, GUYS, GUESS WHAT?! I LIKE POKEMON!!" Yupsers.

Quo came up with The Might of Amity. XD Up there^^^ somewhere... She came up with two more too, but that one was my favorite.

Lucky! I love storms so much ;~; A week or two ago... maybe three... (hey I don't keep track of time in the Summer!) we had a bunch of rain, but now it's like, nope, I wanna be sunny and give everyone skin cancer. Pffft. Weather. We need to get a or something up in here.

Backstory: Maya was hatched, raised and evolved by a circus performer. Several months ago, the circus was disbanded, and Maya was released into the wild. She never fully understood her trainer's reasons for releasing her, and has struggled in the wild. Her moves were perfect for show, and hold very little strength.

For the first few months, Maya stuck around the towns and cities, performing small tricks for food. She considered herself lucky that she was a bug Pokemon, as few trainers really wanted to catch her, although she had her fair share of run-ins with those who did. Recently, reports of poachers has gotten her worried, and she has retreated to the safety of the forest.
Appearance/Shiny: normal.
Personality: Maya had always been extremely outgoing; she had to be, given where she was raised. Now on her own, she realizes her weaknesses, and prefers keeping in the shadows and out of anyone's path. She's extremely wary of anyone she comes in contact with.

Alright. I decided on my characters and I will post them now...

Pokemon: Salamence
Nickname: Shadow
Gender: Male
Plot: Alt. Plot 2
Backstory: Shadow's story is a mystery to most in the forest. Snow and him seem connected by more than just their relationship, however. He is always checking behind his back, though, and the sight of crates seem to startle him.
Appearance/Shiny: Shadow has three strange scars across his right eye. Only Snow knows how he got them.
Personality: Shadow seems quite angry at the world. He is easily aggravated and with good reason. This will be revealed later if you DON'T want to read The Isle...

Backstory: Snow is a little more open about her backstory than Shadow. Though, most do not believe her story at all. Some beings cannot handle what they cannot understand.
Appearance: Shiny :P
Personality: Snow is a very understanding and quiet. She loves Shadow as much as he loves her, them being married of course. She generally blushes at the mention of them being together. Not that she is ashamed, but rather quite modest in herself.

Alright everyone, PLS is back in black. I dearly hope that nobody has lost interest in this Roleplay!! I changed the name officially to The Might of Amity (big thanks, hugs, and high-fives to Quo). I will possibly begin the RolePlay soon.

Gender: Female
Plot: Plot 2 (Yeah, the dark-type is evil. PROBLEM?)
Backstory: She had a pack, but was separated from them at a very young age. She barely remembers them. Since then, she has had a lonely and bitter life. She is generally highly feared by the residents of an area if she stays for a few weeks or so, and she generally travels because she grows bored of being feared constantly- so she moves around to induce fear into more and more Pokemon.
Appearance/Shiny: The skull thing on her head is blood red. Otherwise, normal.
Personality: She has bad mood swings and generally doesn't listen to reason. She has distant dreams of ruling a whole region of Pokemon one day. She usually attacks with little or no reason.
Password: LOL WHAT ARE PASSWORDS
Other: She's near evolution, and probably will after the first or second battle (or so).

Like I've informed the others, I am only able to use my laptop to get onto this site... so long as it is not connected to my home's wireless connection. I can post during trip times, so long as I have time, or possibly at home if I can establish a connection through my phone's internet.

Plot: Plot 1 Returning

Backstory: As a little Shiny Vulpix, Asha was very adventurist. One day she saw a cute little butterfly and decided to chase it. Following the Butterfly Asha lost her way and ended up with an old Chansey who took care of her. Asha finally got tired of being there never leaving, so she left. Only leaving a letter of sad good-byes to the chansey that loved her so. Anyway, not knowing where she was going she just kept walking.

Appearance/Shiny: Yes shiny and usually wears a purple bandanna around her neck

Personality: Adventurist, spunky, Loves to be heard!

Pokemon: Glaceon
Nickname: Noel
Gender: Female
Plot: Returning Plot 1
Backstory: Because I'm lazy, I just copied my last back story and I'm gonna post it here and in Cyan's SU. xwx
Noel and Cyan were little Eevees that lived in the forest together. Noel knew she was different from all of the other Eevees, she had a different hue to her fur. There were a few evolutions in their little Eevee colony, but most were Umbreons and Espeons, and a few Leafeons here and there. But Noel and Cyan wanted to be different from everyone else. That's what started Noel's journey up north, where she had found the huge ice stone that was rumored to chill an Eevee into a new evolution. Noel had trained very hard to become a Glaceon. Although, she ran into a problem when her first thought of this working was to sit on it for a very long time, and go to sleep. She ended up freezing her paws to the top and getting frostbite momentarily until she actually evolved into a Glaceon.


When her sister Noel had gone up north, Cyan went south. She had the hope of becoming a Vaporeon, so she searched the cities for a Water Stone. No other Eevee she knew had tried this, considering that the humans used them and could only be bought in some stores. She had to search some trainer's bags in hope of finding one, in the gutters and in the streets of bit cities. After a week of searching, she finally found one hidden in a local foundtain, but she was holding the stone in her mouth when the transformation began, so it went very slowly from the head and her fin took forever to form, but it went pretty cleanly after that.


When they had returned home, they had the problem of being captured. Pokemon Trainers were depicted as evil to them, by taking them away from their home, their family. And with Noel being a shiny Pokemon, their problem was greater. She would have to be constantly moving to avoid capture. The sisters decided to become nomads, and travel around the country to stay away from anyone wanting to take them away. Cyan got used to having a watchful eye around her, and got used to being the "older sibling" in a way. With Noel having her care-free nature, Cyan has to constantly watch their surroundings in case a trainer would be sneaky enough to not already be heard by them. You could say that their greatest fear is being captured, and the other left to fend for herself.

With close to 9 years of travel, the two sisters found this area, and decided to settle here. It was quite and secluded, and populated with very nice Pokemon. After a year of living here, the girls have forgotten what it was like to be constantly on guard. They've gone soft, you could say. They need something new in their life, something exciting.

The forest that they had settled in was one where their hearts would stay for a long time. After having several adventures and making new and wonderful friends, Noel and Cyan enjoyed their time there in those woods for as long as they could. The rumor of poachers and captors made Noel's skin crawl, and Cyan couldn't even bear to imagine what would happen if her sister was caught. This led them to leave the forest that had grown so close to them, and their friends. But what happens next is nothing but a mystery... Well, not that much of a mystery, since they all got caught.

Personality: Noel is a fiesty character. She has a strong willed side to her, which sometimes is a good thing while trying to complete a project or make it to a far area. It also makes her very stubborn, and hard to persuade. Noel has a knack for getting into arguements with her sister, Cyan, but loves her regardless. She is a very open person, and sometimes doesn't notice danger when going up to make a new friend.

Personality: Cyan is a very calm, smart Pokemon. She is good at survival, and has a knack for knowing trouble before it happens. She is somewhat untrustful, due to past experiences with other Pokemon, and isn't the easiest Pokemon to make friends with. Though, if you try hard enough, Cyan can be a great companion, and a reliable partner. While alongside Noel, you can often find them bickering over the smallest things. While having Noel as a sister annoyes her at times, she has a deep sense to protect her sister, which makes her love her nonetheless.

Puppeting: The in-allowance of a user to control their own character(s). It is also a giving a user the inability to say whether of not, say, an attack from another users character strikes or not.

Please, Sarah, refrain from doing this. Three strikes and I will leave. I know I sound like a jerk about it, but this is an issue that made me quite RP's in the past. It is frustrating to feel helpless to do anything for your character. To be honest, I'm the type of user whom typically states, "Why, yes, he did land that attack," but I like to actually state it before it actually hits.
...
Perhaps Ryan's interaction up this path should be faster, creaming your character in the process.
