Global PokédeX Plus Forums _ Rate My Team _ Tier List

Posted by: Black Ice Apr 15 2009, 10:23 PM

There are 2 tier lists now. Be sure to state which one you're using in your RMT threads if you have a non-OU team.

As a note, neither are completely set in stone either. They all change every once in a while.

This list is largely incomplete, the most obvious ones that need work are UU and NU. Smogon is currently sorting these out, so this is definitely not permanent.

That's not true! Read GTS's tier list!

Posted by: Black Ice Jul 5 2009, 05:48 PM

GTS+'s tier list is largely outdated.

Also, it wasn't really necessary to quote the whole entire first post, I have the mental capacity to comprehend the fact that you're talking about the tier list >>

Posted by: Flamewire Jul 7 2009, 03:03 PM

Well, yesterday, the new tier lists came out... Dugtrio and Donphan were booted from OU and put in UU. Umbreon was promoted from UU to OU. Tangrowth was promoted from NU to UU. Gardevoir, Muk, Ninetales, Poliwrath, and Primape are now NU because of little usage in UU.

I'm not sure if you were going to add this, so I'm posting just in case...

Last I recall, Articuno was Borderline, and I thought that Speed Deoxys was Overused because of its crappy Attack and Defense stats.

Posted by: Black Ice Jul 19 2009, 10:13 PM

You're a bit behind, Deoxys-s has been uber for months now.

Posted by: ImaPenguin95 Jul 20 2009, 02:57 PM

Eh, not to badger here but I find Smogons tiers a bit ... lacking.

I know that Smogons are generally the internet wide accepted tiers but may I suggest using Regileagues tiers ?
Rather than basing the pokemons tier on usage, they base it on how effective the pokemon is. This means UU wont be dominated by pokemon like Azumarril, who boasts an immense attack stat and most definitely the movepool and typing to go with it. Just a suggetion. If you want, I can provide a link.

Posted by: Black Ice Jul 23 2009, 05:38 PM

The tier list will be updated before the end of the week.

EDIT: Went ahead and updated them just now. They should be up-to-date now.

Needs more uber Tyranitar.

Posted by: Black Ice Jul 28 2009, 11:54 AM

Why exactly should Tyranitar be uber now? Give me one good reason.

Like many other idiots, he simply thinks that because his team cant handle it, it should be Uber.

Right. Begin rant.

Tyranitar, while extremely powerful, sporting a base 134 attack, is very easly countered. DDTar is laughed at by Swampert, while CBTar is completely shut down by Rest Talk Machamp, resisting both of its STAB moves and sporting enough HP and Def to not care about its other moves. Tyraniboah is by far the hardest one to counter. However, Hariyama sports resistances to Crunch, Stone Edge and with the aid of Thick Fat, Ice Beam and Flamethrower, meaning the only attack it has to worry about it Focus Punch. Poliwrath also sports the same resistances, again only needing to worry about Focus Punch. All in all, Tyranitar is too counterable to even begin thinking about being moved to Ubers.

I believe anything with a base stat over 600 should be classified an uber.

I know plenty of pokes with a 600 base stat that can tare appart a wobbafet, and a few others on that list.
I know, my dragonite and salamence has done so... Even some of those legends can be beaten.

Posted by: Suikun Oct 16 2009, 12:53 PM

I don't see why they should. An uber is pretty much something that would centralize OU. If you stuck Kyogre or Rayquaza or Darkrai in OU, you'd see every team with one. Same with pretty much all the other ubers. Garchomp was kind of the same way in that nearly everyone used it, which is why Smogon stuck it in ubers. And before anyone else tries to make this argument, Garchomp was used much much more than Tyranitar, Metagross, Salamence, or Dragonite.

Metagross is already OU. Does every team have a counter for it? No. Does everyone use it? No. Which is why we wouldn't call it uber. Same with all the other base 600s, which I'm assuming you're talking about. Because no OU Pokemon has a base stat over 600. And another note, base 600's are all much easier to counter than ubers within the OU metagame. True fact.

If you're trying to pick arguments with me for the sake of picking arguments, at least put some thought in there.

Posted by: Sublem Oct 16 2009, 01:01 PM

I wasn't talking about taking pokemon out of the Uber list, I was talking about adding some, Garchomp was killing the OU's in the metagame, that's why he is an Uber, but the pokemon you have mentioned would kill countless OU's and put up a very good battle with some of the Ubers.

Posted by: Black Ice Oct 16 2009, 01:06 PM

I know you weren't. I was making an example of why Ubers are considered Uber. And I also stated the Garchomp case already.

Read my whole post. Because you didn't counter it, I'll assume you couldn't. So I'll just stick a quote back in here.

QUOTE

None of the base 600's centralize the game as much as Garchomp did. I'd say around 60% or less teams actually use any of the base 600's.

Posted by: Sublem Oct 16 2009, 01:14 PM

Um, Manaphy, Latios, latias, Wobbafet (who has like a 440 base stat) and mew all have a base stat of 600, and mew is used allot...

And, LIKE I SAID, Dragonite and Salamence are powerful enough to be in there... Dragonite has a nice move list to counter pokes like skarmory, and even some ice types, the same goes for salamence.

Posted by: Black Ice Oct 16 2009, 01:24 PM

They could be in there, but they don't have to be. They fit in OU just fine. Seaking works surprisingly well in Ubers, but it sucks in UU and OU. Does that mean it's uber? No.

I meant base 600's as Salamence/Dragonite/Metagross/Tyranitar. Sorry for not pointing that out. Manaphy and Latias are OU. Latias without Soul Dew really isn't that good.

Posted by: Sublem Oct 16 2009, 01:30 PM

You're right about latias, but manaphy is... I dunno why, but he is.

And that's what seperates Dragonite and the rest from Seaking, Dragonite, Salamence, Tyranitar, and Metagross can put up a fight with the ubers, and they can just about tare up the OU teir.

Posted by: Black Ice Oct 16 2009, 01:40 PM

They don't tear up OU. They're all easily countered. Not everyone uses them. Therefore, they're not Uber.

I don't see the point of this argument. Pretty much everyone except you accepts the fact that the base 600's aren't Ubers. Nothing's gonna change.

Posted by: Sublem Oct 16 2009, 02:56 PM

Can't say that, it may in later gens.

Posted by: Black Ice Oct 16 2009, 04:30 PM

Okay. That has nothing to do with 4th gen.

...I'm going to close this thread. I post Smogon's and RL's tier lists here, and if anyone has any problems with it then go complain to them. I can't do anything about it.
