Do you think the movie Avatar is overrated? |

When I saw it I have to say that I was extremely bored.
 It reminded me of Pocahontas just with robots, machine guns, and bombs added in. I was expecting something a little idk different maybe. It's not that it wasn't bad but it wasn't that good either. The effects were amazing but the plot was very plain, simple, and extremely predictable. The acting was not that great either. Please don't hurt me for this. (runs around in fear)

I can't say I didn't enjoy watching it but I expected more, to be honest.

Honestly, I haven't even watched it...
I've seen the adverts and trailers for it, and heard everyone saying "OMG, I WANT TO SEE IT" or "OMG, IT WAS SO GOOD". But to be honest... I don't find it that appealing. It looks boring, and there are a lot of better things that the money it took to make it could've been spent on. --------------------  I do gaming videos! i think the only good part of this movie was the glow in the dark forest, other than that i found this movie pretty much unbearable and hard to stay awake during

The movie Avatar is nothing like it's supposed to be...I could have sworn that The Avatar was the last of a group of warriors known as Airbenders, but apparently, they're making a movie on that next.
In short, yeah, Avatar is way overrated. It's an average movie, but nothing too interesting. --------------------  |

It looked cool, and I've yet to watch it, but I've heard that it's overrated/just plain sucks. o3o;

I wouldn't say it's overrated, but that's because I went into it with an open mind. I had no expectations of it, and I'm glad that I didn't. I enjoyed the film a lot.

I went to see it on Christmas Eve (no 3D, btw) and was pretty impressed, though the story lacked quite a bit. I did love those creatures, however.

Personally, I though Titanic was epic. Though I suppose I'm more of a sucker for romantic movies then movies like this one.

I felt that the plot was dragged out and turned predictable in places. Though the effects were excellent, I was expecting a more compelling story since my friends bragged on and on about how 'great' Avatar was.

I don't think it's overrated -- it only got what credit it deserved.
Which is to say, it was spectacular visually, and even to this day I say it's a movie everybody should see (in 3-D, preferably.) It's also paved the way for 3-D to come back as more than a cheesy theme park attraction, which is wonderful because I love to watch movies that way. Unfortunately, it was an incredibly trite plot, it upstaged its own acting (did I mention I'm an actor? lol) and aside from a few action scenes, it wasn't very entertaining.
