Reasons for shiny hunting?, Completion? For nicknaming? Shards? Let's discuss!

Shards. Also, despite being done with the Zap Plate, I'm hunting Rotom again because I'm 1 away from the complete set.

i like having a goal to pursue that feels somewhat reachable but not easy! exploration tasks scratch a similar itch, but i also like having shiny pokemon to show off, so shiny hunting can feel more rewarding.

Shiny Hunting is very satisfying when you finally achieve in getting whatever Shiny you're trying to get. I love having a goal and achieving that goal.

I like shiny hunting because shinies are rare. It gives me a sense of accomplishment when I get one!

Mostly aesthetic and to get shinies of my favorites. I do go easy on myself and target low maturity egg species & many of my favorites naturally come from the first three gens cause that's what I grew up with but not a whole lot more thought into it than that.

Definitely a theme to name them after songs especially ones that I'm listening to at the moment and/or am listening to when they hatch.

I've always had a love for collecting stuff, and shinies scratch that itch really well. It's so satisfying to get a shiny that I really want, especially a legendary or a really long hunt.

Mostly for something to do, though, I also just really like the act of shiny hunting. I love hatching the same Pokemon over and over. (And, that's not sarcasm, even though it sounds like it.) I really do love just hatching the same egg over and over. It only gets frustrating when it seems no one else is breeding the same Pokemon.
