Throughout the course of history, human beings have been fascinated by the realm of the supernatural. From the ancient practices of augury and telling portents to the astounding magicians and mentalists of today, all that is considered "psychic" awes and astonishes us. And it is no different in the world of Pokemon and in GPX+.

This group is for the psychic-type pokemon and their devoted fans. Welcome to Mystical Marvels.

Who Is Eligible To Join?: Do you have a psychic pokemon of any evolution stage in your party, your PC, or your daycare? Is there an egg in your party that you know will hatch into a psychic pokemon? If you have one or more pokemon and/or eggs that has psychic as its type or as one of its two types, then you're eligible to join Mystical Marvels. This includes legendary psychic pokemon and eggs. For a full list of eligible pokemon, see below.

Are There Any Restrictions?: There are very few restrictions. We will not bar you from joining for any reason other than currently not meeting eligibility. And you can always fix that by getting yourself an egg which will hatch into a psychic pokemon. As for eligible pokemon, we are not excluding any kind of psychic pokemon from our group, not even those that are eligible in other groups due to having two types. Even Arceus is accepted, because he can be psychic-type as well as all other types. However, the pokemon you submit must actually be owned by you. Pokemon that have been or are to be abandoned for The Savior Project or any other reason will not be added into the roster, because they disrupt the roster's total numbers and make it that much more difficult to discern how many pokemon a member has added into the roster.

What Do You Have to Do To Join?: Simply create a post stating that you want to join. In that post, use this handy dandy form:

The badges, like the roster, are broken down into three categories. There are fourteen badges in all, with four badges in he first two categories and six badges in the third category. These categories are: The Roster Badges, The Breeding Badges, and The Special Badges.

The Roster Badges- Awarded for having certain numbers of eggs/pokemon in the roster. I'm keeping track of this myself, with a list and tally on paper, but feel free to keep your own notes as well.

Abra Badge- Denotes that this member has at least two psychic-type pokemon or eggs in the group's roster. Awarded Upon: Having your second pokemon/egg entered into the roster.

Wobbuffet Badge- Denotes that this member has ten or more psychic-type pokemon or eggs in the group's roster. Awarded Upon: Having your tenth pokemon/egg entered into the roster.

Grumpig Badge- Denotes that this member has twenty-five or more psychic-type pokemon or eggs in the group's roster. Awarded Upon: Having your twenty-fifth pokemon/egg entered into the roster.

Gallade Badge- Denotes that this member has fifty or more psychic-type pokemon or eggs in the group's roster. Awarded Upon: Having your fiftieth pokemon/egg entered into the roster.

The Breeder Badges- Earlier I mentioned a badge for creative contributors. But soon after that I realized that members might also want to contribute by breeding psychic-type pokemon. So I made a special trio of badges, along with a fourth badge that gives special consideration to The Ralts Army and those who may be members of both our group and theirs.

Uxie Badge- Given to any member who breeds two psychic-type pokemon or a psychic-type pokemon with a Ditto and produces at least one egg from the union.

To Obtain This Badge: The breeder must post the BB codes of the paired pokemon or otherwise show that those pokemon are in the Daycare together. The BB code of one egg produced by the pairing must be posted. Breeding a psychic-type pokemon with a Ditto is acceptable. Breeding a psychic-type pokemon with a pokemon that is not a psychic-type other than Ditto will not earn you this badge.

Mesprit Badge- Given to any member who breeds two psychic-type pokemon or a psychic-type pokemon with a Ditto and produces at least fifteen eggs from the union.

To Obtain This Badge: Unless the breeder states otherwise, it will be assumed that the pairing used to obtain the Uxie Badge is the same pairing used to obtain the Mesprit Badge. The BB codes of eggs produced by the pairing are not required. Tallies for each pairing may be kept by the breeder, or a link may be produced so that a second party can verify the number of eggs produced by the paring. Please be sure to remember that eggs that are deleted from the shelter are removed from your pokemon's Heritage and "number of children" listings. Upon reaching fifteen in your tally, simply PM BrainpanSonata with the information to receive your badge. Breeding a psychic-type pokemon with a Ditto is acceptable. Breeding a psychic-type pokemon with a pokemon that is not a psychic-type other than Ditto will not earn you this badge.

Azelf Badge- Given to any member who breeds two or more pairings of two psychic-type pokemon or psychic-type pokemon with Ditto and produces at least ten eggs from each union.

To Obtain This Badge: Since more than one pairing is being bred, the breeder does not have to use a pairing that was used to obtain either the Uxie or Mesprit badge, if he or she so chooses. Breeding two psychic-types, then leaving one in the Daycare and switching the other out and breeding the new pokemon with the one who was in the first pairing still counts as two pairings. Tallies for each pairing may be kept by the breeder, or a link may be produced so that a second party can verify the number of eggs produced by the paring. Please be sure to remember that eggs that are deleted from the shelter are removed from your pokemon's Heritage and "number of children" listings. Upon reaching ten in each tally, PM BrainpanSonata with the information to receive your badge. Breeding a psychic-type pokemon with a Ditto is acceptable in qualifying to earn this badge. Breeding a psychic-type pokemon with a pokemon that is not a psychic-type other than Ditto will not earn you this badge.

Gardevoir Badge- Given to any member who consistently or inconsistently breeds either two pokemon from the Ralts family OR a pokemon from the Ralts family with a pokemon from the roster which matches the egg group of the Ralts family OR a pokemon from the Ralts family with a Ditto, either for Mystical Marvels or for The Ralts Army.

To Obtain This Badge: Simply make a post in the group's thread stating that you have been breeding or are going to try to breed an eligible pokemon pair (two members of the Ralts family or one member of the Ralts family and a pokemon from the roster that's in the same egg group) to receive this badge. Please include the BB codes of your Ralts family-related pairing or otherwise show that they are in the Daycare together in your post. The Ralts family means Ralts, Kirlia, Gardevoir, or Gallade. No tallies need to be kept on the number of eggs produced, and you do not need to post the BB codes of any eggs produced by the pairing. Being a member of The Ralts Army is not a requirement for obtaining this badge. If you are a member of The Ralts Army, however, including that you are a member of that group and are a breeder within that group will help your chances of receiving this badge once your claim has been verified. Breeding a psychic-type pokemon with a Ditto is acceptable. Breeding a psychic-type pokemon with a pokemon that is not a psychic-type other than Ditto will not earn you this badge.

The Special Badges- These badges are for particularly special honors. As such, not as many members will have them. In fact, one of them might end up being owned by just one member for the entire duration of the group. I'll explain all about that below.

Arceus Badge- Denotes that this member is (one of) the leader(s) of Mystical Marvels.

Special Notes: I (BrainpanSonata) created this badge not with the intention to make everyone else jealous, but with the intention that this would be the only badge I would ever have. By having this badge, I take myself out of the running for being awarded all other badges. Also, the words in parentheses are there because at some point I may decide to choose someone to co-lead the group with me. I may even step down and choose a successor for whatever reason. There simply there so I can cover all the "just in case" bases in light of whatever the future may bring.

Mew Badge- Denotes that this member has any number of legendary psychic-type pokemon or eggs in the group's roster. Awarded Upon: Having a legendary pokemon/egg entered into the roster.

Mewtwo Badge- Denotes that this member has any number of shiny psychic-type pokemon in the group's roster. Awarded Upon: Having a shiny pokemon entered into the roster or having an egg already in the roster hatch into a shiny pokemon.

Lugia Badge- Denotes that this member has one or more pokemon in the group's roster that has reached level 100. Awarded Upon: Entering a pokemon in the roster that is already level 100, notifying BrainpanSonata via PM or by posting in the thread the first time one of your pokemon in the roster reaches level 100, or when BrainpanSonata notices one of your pokemon has reached level 100 by looking at the BB badge code posted in this thread. (Note: Last method not always applicable.)

Deoxys Badge- Given to any member of the group who contributes to the group creatively by making a banner, set of badges, RP scenario, etc., either upon being requested by another member of the group or of their own desire. Awarded Upon: Posting something you've made for the group in this thread. No matter how many things you contribute, you can only be awarded this badge once.

Celebi Badge: Denotes that this person is a high-ranking member of Mystical Marvels who has contributed a vast amount of time and effort to the group.

How To Obtain: This is the non-leadership counterpart to the Arceus badge, so it's not easy to get. Here's a breakdown of the requirements.

1) You must have earned all four of the Roster badges (Abra, Wobbuffet, Grumpig, and Gallade).
2) You must have earned at least one of the following: the Mew Badge, the Mewtwo Badge, or the Lugia Badge.
3) You must have earned the first Breeders badge, the Uxie Badge.

These are the minimum requirements, and are all that is needed to qualify you for the Celebi Badge. However, if you go above and beyond the call of duty by doing such things as:

*Earning any number of badges other than the six badges listed as being the minimum requirement (This means if you have both a Mew Badge and a Mewtwo Badge or Lugia Badge, for example, it counts as being more than the minimum requirement. The same goes with having both an Uxie badge and a Mesprit Badge or Gardevoir Badge.)
*Continuing to submit creative contributions after having earned a Deoxys Badge
*Continuing to breed your psychic-type pairings after having earned the Mesprit, Azelf, or Gardevoir Badges

- it will look very favorably upon you and can improve your chances of earning the Celebi Badge that much sooner, perhaps even before you meet the minimum requirements.

Okay, then! Welcome to the group, Booklover323, because I said so, Enigmatic Relic, and BrokenLatias! It's nice to have you with us! You'll be added into the members lists as soon as I finish posting this.

As for your pokemon being added into the roster:

Booklover323 - I've made a note about your Staryu. You can either PM me when you get your water Stone and evolve it, or post that information here. I'll be sure to add it into the roster then.

However, there was something wrong with your Natu's BB code, making the image connect with the link to your second Kirlia's page. Until you fix your Natu's broken BB code, I'm afraid I can't accept it into the roster at this time. I'm sorry.

because I said so - Of course you can join. Looking at your party page, I also found a Lunatone egg. Since psychic-type eggs are also eligible entries, I'm going to also enter it into the roster. So technically you'll have four psychic-types in the roster once I enter all the new data.

Enigmatic Relic - Impressive. Six right at the start. When I learn how to make badges and finally get around to cranking some out, there's a good chance you'll be the first in line for a few.

BrokenLatias - I think your banners look great! They're definitely going to be going into the OP. I've also decided that one of the group's badges will be specifically for members who make contributions to the group (banners, badges, RP scenarios, etc), so you've got that badge coming your way.

And speaking of banners, I've finally dusted off my copy of Paintshop Pro X and- using Pokii's trainer cards tutorial as a guideline- am currently working on a 300x80 pixel banner for the group as well. I'll edit it into the thread's OP, with due credit given to Pokii, when I've finished it.

I'm also currently hashing out the planning stages of a badge system- what certain badges would be called, what they are in recognition of, and when they would be given out.

At this point I'd also like to mention that everyone who has joined so far has already earned one of the badges from the planning stages of the badge system:

The Abra Badge - Given to members who have at least two psychic-type pokemon or eggs listed in the group's roster.

The planning stage of the badges system is... well, it's basically done! (Gee, that wasn't too hard at all...)

Anyway, before I have to go back and edit this into the OP, here's a breakdown of what the badges system- what they're called, what they're for, and how you get them.

Special Notes: The previous mentioned "creative contributions" badge. This was originally going to be called the Chimecho Badge before I decided to incorporate legendary pokemon into the special badges. I chose Deoxys because it can take many forms, just like what you contribute can.

Yeah, I know I talk a lot. Or as Zerxer once replied to a bug report of mine that was 1/4 this size, " ". Still, I believe in sharing important information with the group, no matter how TL;DR it is.

That being said, so far everyone here who's not me (I've opted out of badges via the Arceus badge) has earned the Abra badge. BrokenLatias has also earned the Deoxys badge for creating those awesome banners.

And speaking of the Deoxys Badge, anyone who creates the actual badges to go along with the badge system will earn themselves the Deoxys Badge. Unless BrokenLatias steps up to the plate again, having already earned that badge.

EDIT: I was going to add this information two days ago, but my ISP cut out and I didn't get it back until last night. I finally finished the banner I was talking about and it's now been added to the OP. There's some special instructions regarding the credit line. The instructions and the credit line are there out of courtesy since I told Pokii about how I used the trainer cards tutorial as a guideline for making the banner and promised that due credit would be given. If you don't feel like having to use a pre-made credit line or a banner that large, you can always stick with the awesome banners BrokenLatias made.

EDIT2: Afterthought Syndrome strikes again! I just thought of another badge we need!

Mewtwo Badge- Denotes that this member has any number of shiny psychic-type pokemon in the group's roster. Awarded Upon: Having a shiny pokemon entered into the roster or having an egg already in the roster hatch into a shiny pokemon.

Special Notes: Basically, this is the counterpart to the Mew Badge, which is why it's called the Mewtwo Badge. If whoever creates the actual visual badges decides to use the images/sprites/icons of the related pokemon, it'd only make sense if a shiny Mewtwo was used with this badge. Also, I hope nobody here has triskadecaphobia (fear of the number thirteen). If you do, just don't count the Arceus Badge as an actual badge, since it's basically just my way of opting out being eligible for badges.

Alright! Let's welcome our two new members, Lightningstreak and Lady Entei. My notes for the new members:

Lightningstreak: Congratulations on being the first member to earn the Mew Badge for having any number of legendary psychic pokemon in the roster! Wait... level 100? There's another potential badge I forgot about! I'd better get to planning out a "has at least one level 100 pokemon in the roster" badge, since that would put the number of badges we'll have at fourteen, and fourteen is one of my favorite numbers.

Lady Entei: I knew you'd have a lot of psychic pokemon because you're the leader of The Ralts Army, but ! You've already earned the Wobbuffet Badge as well as the Abra Badge; enter just one more psychic-type pokemon into the roster and you'll earn the Grumpig Badge as well! Also, you've already definitely earned the Gardevoir Badge, which I mentioned in that PM I sent you where I was discussing an alliance between Mystical Marvels and The Ralts Army. Actually, along those lines, you've already met the requirements for earning the Uxie and Mesprit badges as well. And you're off to a great start for getting the Celebi Badge. Your chances of getting it before metting the minimum requirements are looking quite favorable, even.

Speaking of badges, I thought up the fourteenth badge while I was typing up this post. I figured that since Lightningstreak's post inspired me to think it up, his pokemon should have the spot of honor.

Lugia Badge- Denotes that this member has one or more pokemon in the group's roster that has reached level 100. Awarded Upon: Posting in the thread or PMing BrainpanSonata the first time one of your pokemon in the roster reaches level 100.

Also, I've just gone and joined The Ralts Army.

Now to add a massive amount of new information into the OP!

No, that's not such a bad idea. We've already got the members list, the roster, and the info about the badge system in spoilers. I'll do that right away.

Also, I haven't entered it into the roster just yet, but since we also accept eggs that will hatch into psychic-type pokemon, the Meditite egg in your party is also eligible to be entered into the roster. That would qualify you for the Grumpig Badge.

Oh, BTW, still haven't entered your Meditite egg into the roster yet, Lady Entei. Didn't know if you'd want me to ask permission or not.

Also, I was right about Enigmatic Relic being first in line for some badges. With the addition of the Lugia Badge, Enigma and Relic already being at level 100 means that Enigmatic Relic already qualifies for that badge.

As for who's getting which badge, don't worry guys. I'm keeping notes on paper on who's earned which badge, as well as notes on paper on who's entered how many pokemon and eggs into the roster. Writing things down has always been a tried and true method for me of keeping track of things.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to playing "ClickerFlood ClickBack Catch-up"

EDIT: For my own reference, I will post my badges and such.

Abra Badge- Denotes that this member has at least two psychic-type pokemon or eggs in the group's roster. Awarded Upon: Having your second pokemon/egg entered into the roster.

Mewtwo Badge- Denotes that this member has any number of shiny psychic-type pokemon in the group's roster. Awarded Upon: Having a shiny pokemon entered into the roster or having an egg already in the roster hatch into a shiny pokemon.

Deoxys Badge- Given to any member who contributes to the group creatively by making a banner, set of badges, RP scenario, etc., either by request or of their own desire. Awarded Upon: Posting something you've made for the group in this thread. No matter how many things you contribute, you can only be awarded this badge once.

Aiming for that Celebi badge...it's a long shot, but I'm dedicated to win that badge! HURRAH! :O

In other news, I'm making a minor change to the minimum requirements for how you get the Celebi Badge. Since the Mew Badge and the Mewtwo badge are basically counterparts to each other, having either one will meet that part of the minimum requirements.

Alright, MystykFyre! Having the Deoxys egg in the roster ears you both the Abra Badge and the Mew Badge.

I myself squeed loud enough to rouse the dog from the other room when I logged on today and found an Azelf egg in my party. I had been so hoping for a psychic-type egg from this event and had my heart especially set on an Azelf egg. Commander Whimsy is definitely made of uber-awesome.

Gonna go add the three new entires into the roster now. Then I have to play a massive amount of "ClickerFlood Clickback Catch-Up" before I go out to do some RL volunteer work today.

I have a Mime Jr., Girafarig, Gardevoir, Gallade (not yet but once i get a dawn stone), another ralts on the way, Chingling. That's it so far but...oh and an Azelf on thew way too ^,.,^

NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT The badges are done!

Yep, those shiny, spiffy badges that Lady Entei has worked so hard on are finally finished and you can now see them in the Badge System spoiler!

However, we're not ready to dole out badges to everyone just yet. Since there's a limit of 27 images per post, it's been realized that simply posting the image of each badge next to every member's name wouldn't work.

So I'm going to work on making a badge case template that can be used and updated for every member as needed. Until then, we'll all just have to ooh and ahh over the badges in the Badge System spoiler while I sweat over a hot copy of Paint Shop Pro.

(Don't worry, guys, this shouldn't take too long. A few days at the most. I've already got the layout of the template planned and drawn out, I know exactly what to do with the layers and text vectors and such, and I've got the intended colors and gradients for the template preset. The one involving the most work will be my own badge case, and I can always put that one off until last.)

You've earned your Uxie Badge, then, since I was able to verify through the link that your pairing has produced at least one egg.

If you're going to go for the Celebi Badge like you've been planning to, you'd better get to work on earning your Roster badges. Given how many badges you've earned already and how eager you are to help the group, I'd say you don't need to earn the Gallade Badge in order to earn the Celebi Badge.

Go, ahead, BrokenLatias. They're all yours. I'll PM you the resized badges or you can ask Lady Entei for the originals. I resized all my saved badges when working with them except for the Lugia and Arceus Badges. We'll also have to keep up a PM back-and-forth of info and images to keep the Member Status up to date.

Speaking of badges... when you crank out the new badge cases, toss the Wobbuffet Badge onto yours as well. I'll tell you some more about that when I PM you.

I have good news and I have bad news.

The good news is that Midnight Dreams has earned her first badge, the Abra badge, and Lady Entei's just earned the Grumpig Badge.

The bad news is due to a problem I'm having with the forums where the Rich Text Editor and all the handy little buttons and drop-down menus provided are unavailable to me even though I have my board settings set so that I use the Rich Text Editor by default.

Because of this problem, which also makes it so that pre-existing text (quotes, material being edited, etc.) is in the blocky, run-on Standard Editor format, it's going to be near-impossible for me to go in and edit the OP and Member Status post until this problem is fixed.

As such, even though I have listed these pokemon down as needing to be added to the roster, I cannot actually add them into the roster at this time. Nor can I edit in any other such updates to the roster, other such sections of the OP, or update the Member Status post at this time.

I don't even have the buttons for bold, italics, and underline available right now. I've had to add in the BB Code tags for this post manually.

I've already submitted a detailed bug report for this problem in the proper subforum, and hopefully the mods will take notice and get on this soon enough.

ANNOUNCEMENT: CONTEST DEADLINE EXTENSION

Okay, when I posted the rules to the "Missing Spoiler Tags" Writing Contest, I didn't look at my calendar closely enough.

In the rules, I said that the 7th of July was two weeks from the day when I posted the rules. This was wrong. It was only one week's time.

To correct my error, I'm moving the deadline day to 07/20/09. Why I'm extending the contest deadline this far, instead of simply by an extra week is because I have appointments to keep on the 13th, 14th, and 15th, making any of those dates unsuitable as deadline/judging dates.

So with an extra 17 days between now and the dealing/judging day (I made sure to triple check my calendar this time), you should have plenty of time to think up, compose, and submit an entry to the contest. Because Lightningstreak needs a competitor or two so we don't lose the fun of actually holding a competition.

(Oh, goodie, I figured out some of the basic smilies...)

Okay. Your Smoochum egg has been written down in my notes, BrokenLatias.

My problems with the missing Rich Text Editor still continue.

Editing new info into the bug report and submitting caused the original text to be converted into Standard Editor format, which was very inconvenient since I had originally composed the bug report in multiple, short paragraphs. I had to go into Full Edit, edit out the HTML break tags and re-space the paragraphs manually, then add the fact that that this had happened to my bug report into the bug report.

To me, this indicates that adding eggs into the roster is very infeasible at this time and will have to wait.

Alright. I've written down in my general notes that both you and Lady Entei are going for the Azelf Badge.

I've just started breeding myself. My Natu egg hatched into a male, so I've just put young Mysterio into the daycare with Cassandra, my Xatu... they are really hitting it off! I've actually had to go and move my beloved Curio to the PC becuase they've already gone and produced two eggs.

I've also moved my Spoink and my Meditite to PC as well and added the fact that we have 32 new eggs into my Roster notes.

Okay, new breeder just got schooled. Didn't know multiple eggs worked the same here as they do at DC.

Okay, Ratio. Welcome to the group.

Unfortunately, I'm still having problems with with the forum and the Rich Text Editor. And that means the delay on editing new information into the OP(which contains the roster, member list, etc) continues into Day Two.

But don't worry. I've been taking notes on paper of everything ever since this group was first started, so I've got all the information down about your pokemon and what badges you've already earned. So far you've earned the Abra, Wobbuffet, and Mew badges.

I checked our ally group's thread and couldn't find your name there... so is it safe to assume that you're still breeding your Ralts in order to earn the Gardevoir Badge? If you post the BB Code (either image or badge) of an egg produced by the pairing, you can also qualify to earn the Uxie Badge.

*looks over the entire thread* Wait, when did Booklover323 get those new pokemon? Two more for the notes now, and the roster later.

@Ratio: They don't have to be in your party to get the image codes, like a lot of people think they do. Just click your page link from your Party page ( it's the on that says: Your public URL: http://gpxplus.net/user/your-user-name-here ). If the Pokemon's in your box, then go to the part of the page that shows your boxes ( if they're public, if not, go make them public ), then click on the Pokemon you're wanting the image from. It will take you to the Pokemon's page and from there you can choose a link that says "-Get image codes"
If they're in your daycare, simply scroll down on your user page, to the Daycare Pokemon at he bottom. Click on the one you want the image codes from, and choose the link "-Get image codes"

Okay, then. had a very nice Fourth of July celebration yesterday. The parade was wonderful but I unfortunately had to miss out on the fireworks display. All noise from people setting off firecrackers and bottle rockets in the neighborhood was upsetting my dog so much that I had to stay home to care for her.

Anyway, back into the swing of things!

Lady Entei- Right. You've earned your Mesprit Badge. This makes you the first person in Mystical Marvels to earn all four of the Breeding badges. Kudos.

Ratio- Thank you for providing that link so I could verify the eggs produced by your pairing. You've earned the Gardevoir, Uxie, and Mesprit badges.

At this point I'd like to note that I when I set up the Badge System I made those rules with the intention that it's not necessary for any member trying for the Mesprit, Azelf, or Gardevoir badges to have the eggs produced by the pairing verified by a second party.

But having had some experience with breeding now, and being so spooked by it that I moved Cassandra and Mysterio into the PC after just four hours, I now realize that eggs can be produced so fast that having someone else available to confirm that you've met the badge requirements can be very handy and even reassuring.

Therefore, the disclaimers that state the group is not responsible for keeping tallies on behalf of the breeder are going to be amended to something that states that the group will provide verification of egg totals if so requested. Since I'm still having troubles with the Rich Text Editor, and thus can't edit the OP right now, the new disclaimers will be delayed in their arrival. I've written down exactly how each of the two disclaimers would look after the change in my notes, though.

Fionna- Welcome! It was nice to see BrokenLatias jump in as the welcoming wagon when I couldn't. I've written down all the info that will be edited into the OP when this Rich text editor problem is resolved.

(Personally, since I can't edit any posts right now, I'm thinking of just making a brand new Member Status post.)

As for an alliance between Mystical Marvels and Alpahabet Soup...

I like the humor you use in your group's concept. Plus the fact that you started it without actually having any Unown is daring.

I see nothing wrong with an alliance between our two groups. Since I can't edit the info into the OP (geez, I'm turning into a broken record now) I'll leave a post in your group's thread saying that Mystical Marvels has an alliance with Alphabet Soup.

Ever since the Egg Identification thread was closed for spamming and click-begging, I've found that clicking the JavaScript link marked View next to where it says Heritage is very helpful in identifying eggs.

Another fun thing I like to do with an egg's heritage list (if I have enough free time) is play "Six Degrees of Kevin BaconSeparation". I look through the list and see how many names I recognize. No points given if I just know them from the forums, but +1 if they're on my Pal Pad, or in the current Uprising RP I'm in. And +2 points if they're in this group or on my Rain Check List. In the end the points aren't added up at all, because by then I realize that playing is pointless unless I find names from my Rain Check List. So in the end, the real winners are the people on my Rain Check List.

(My Rain Check List is a list of people who gave my party clicks, but I couldn't click back that day due to RL circumstances. If I see them in a heritage or "users who interacted" list, I then have the convenience of opening that person's party page in a separate tab or window and returning the clicks I couldn't return before.)

Realizing that my description of the problem might not actually explain what's going on, I've made screenshots of the various sections that are affected and uploaded them to my Photobucket account. Soon I'll be making a reply with links to the webpages where the images can be found (the screenshots are most likely too large for all of them to be displayed in a single post) in the bug report thread I made about the problem.

BrainpanSonata, I'm beginning to have the same problems editing that you are. In my new group, everytime I go to edit it changes two [*/spoiler] tags to </div> tags. It's always the same two, but the fact it does that is a bug, huh? And it's beginning to change my links from BB code to html as I post them. So the end result of a post is all borked html links.

Could I maybe have a link to your bug report thread and I'll post my problems there as well?

Okay, I'm back from my day off. Between Wednesday being my usual volunteering day and being rather rattled the day before that by a sudden brownout (which caused my computer to restart while I was busy on GTS+ and GPX+), I felt a day away from the computer was in order. Now back into the swing of things!

The Risin Salamance: If you'll look a page back in the thread, you'll see a list I made of notes I had been taking of pokemon that need to be entered into the roster but can't be ATM due to my current problems with editing posts. One of the two Smoochums on that list is yours. Also, I'd like to note that particular posted list is a partial list, since I maintain and have been maintaining it constantly.

I assure you all, I keep track of every new member, new pokemon, and new badge earned. My paper lists and notes detailing who has how many pokemon, who has what badges and who is working on earning which badge, and the constantly updated list of pokemon that need to be entered into the roster are safeguards to prevent me from letting the information fall to the wayside. I even open up a copy of the thread in another tab and go through it as I make new posts, checking BB Code images to see if pokemon in the roster have evolved. Sometimes I make oversights, yes, but I work hard to keep that from happening.

Lady Entei, just wanted to let you know that when I previewed the post, I still had the disappearing /spoiler tag problem. This leads me to conclude the two problems aren't related. But seeing your post in the Bugs/Errors thread has made me realize that I probably shouldn't have taken the missing tags so lightly, even if a simple yet continuously temporary solution seemed sufficient.

I also had a bit of a scare. I'd forgotten that when you have the Rich Text Editor enabled and the page is still loading, the text body still looks like the Basic Editor format. When the page fully loads, though, it converts the text back into the format it had been posted in (the Rich Text Editor format). For a second there, I thought the RTE had up and vanished on me again. Thank goodness that's not the case.

Well, there's an image limit of 27 images to a post. So far our current Member Status post is still good on images limits (though I still need to update it ), since we only have 16 members ATM.

But once we get over 27 members, I was planning to do like Lady Entei did with The Ralts Army, creating another post containing the information for the member #28 and beyond and putting a link to that post into the first post Member Status post. It's a system that works, so...

Also... I made a small oversight with the update info for one of those badge cases. I'm PMing you about it right now.

Had a bit of a hiccup while editing Arkkk and his Ralts into the OP.

It's not the Rich Text Editor this time. It's the "random HTML coding inserting itself into the middle of various BB Code coding" glitch that's been happening to a bunch of other group leaders here on the forum.

But it was just in the one spot, so I was able to easily delete the errant HTML and edit the OP as usual. Then I headed over to the Site/Forums Bugs/Errors topic to report that I had suddenly developed the same problem as the others who had posted about it there.

Working on Azelf before moving on to other psychic types. It is very hard to hatch for me, and thank god I have this legend, rather one that takes 30,000 points to hatch. It's almost hatched, so I'll post it up soon, probably.
The next psychic I'm going to choose: *uses randomization technique* Beldum!
I breed a lot of Pokemon and abandon them for others...well I'll try to keep one for myself then.

Arkkkk- I have Eevee in my Dex entries, so I looked it up for you. You need to max out its happiness (the max number is 200) and then wait for it to be daytime (between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm server time, I believe) in order to evolve it into Espeon. So you might be evolving your Eevee into Espeon sooner than you think.

The Risin Salamance- Ah, yes, Azelf. Those legendary eggs are so hard to hatch, but their worth it. Well, most of the time. My Azelf, Moxie, has driven her roommate to the brink simply because she's an insult comic in training. Needless to say, Hitori the Moltres does not have a calm nature anymore.

Lady Entei: Nice to hear from you again! Yeah, I know you're busy with lots of other stuff. Has Nickle or Rowan said yes to that question you asked of them yet?

Anyway, there's still today's breedable clone, Squirtle. Or there's always tomorrow's biggie, Mewtwo. I'm surprised nobody's been drooling over that one, since it's a legendary. And having a legendary psychic-type in the roster earns you the Mew Badge. And with the rare chance of the set shiny and the regular change of a random shiny, Shiny Mewtwo would get you both the Mew and Mewtwo badges. (I taste irony in the air...)

supervulpix: Welcome to the group! However, I was surprised to find that someone else now owns your Mr.Mime because of The Savior Project. As such, I can't add him into the roster. The pokemon you submit must actually be owned by you. Your Espeon and Meditite have been added into the roster, though, you've been added onto the Members List, and you've earned the Abra Badge for having two pokemon entered into the roster.

I've added a note into the Restrictions section of the OP stating that pokemon that have been or are to be abandoned, whether for The Savior Project or for any other reason, will not be added into the roster. This is because these pokemon will disrupt the roster numbers and make it that much more difficult to keep track of who has submitted how many pokemon. Since the Roster badges are based on how many pokemon a member has submitted, the addition of this new rule is essential.

Since I am not a member of The Savior Project, I am not readily aware of those people who are. So please, if you acquire a new psychic-type egg but don't post it and I just happen to notice it and ask about it, please mention if it is for The Savior Project.

*sigh* I was originally rather laisse-faire in the rules of the OP because I didn't want to be too strict or oppressive. Now in hindsight, I seem to be adding in important rules and information that should have been there from the start as I go along. If you want to scold me for it, go ahead. This is my first time leading a GPX+ group, I have no right to claim infallibility.

Okay, then. Just got back from a day of of RL responsibilities and some offline research for a game-based RP here in the forums. (Been a while since I cranked up my copy of PMD: Darkness. I'd almost forgotten about how I was writing down and testing Wonder Mail codes to share with others online after I beat the game... I might just open up a shop-style thread to do that here in the proper forum. When I have time, of course.)

Arkkk- That is indeed an Abra egg. It and your Espeon and your Ralts' evolution have been entered into the roster. Oh, and Kirlia evolves into a Gallade with a Dawn Stone.

(I've spent about two thirds of my points stash on Dawn Stones for some of the numerous Ralts I have. I intend to evolve three into Gallade, one into a Gardevoir, one into a Kirlia, and two will remain Ralts.)

The Risin Salamance- Okay. Don't worry about how long it'll take. There's no rush.

Pimpburger- Ah, you have my sympathy regarding the male Ralts. Even though the gender ratio for Ralts is 50-50, only one of the seven I have right now is female. As for the event, I'm just not going to talk about it anymore, because I think I may be jinxing myself.

I had to take about a day and a half off due to thunderstorms rolling through (it always happens right after I water the garden...) and then I went and downloaded the latest version of my browser. Remember that creative writing contest that was being held? Yes? No? Humannawhatwhat? Yeah, it seems to have gone and sunk like a lead Drifloon. I say this because not a single entry was submitted for the contest, and the deadline was two days ago. In the end, it was done in by the fact that I never put information about the contest into the OP. With all the fuss going on over the forum glitch I'd been experiencing, I completely dropped the ball there.

So next month, the contest is getting a do-over. On August 15th, the creative writing contest will kick back into gear with a new, less nonsensical theme. And you'll have plenty of time to write, submit and edit your entries, because I've already decided to set August 31st as the contest deadline.

Also, to ward off a lack of participation in next month's contest, I've added in a new section about contests into the OP.

Remember! This kind of contest requires creative output. Therefore the winner of the upcoming contest will earn the Deoxys Badge if he/she has not already earned that badge. If you win the contest and you've already earned the Deoxys Badge... well, we'll just have to come up with some other spiffy thing to present to you. Who knows, I or another member of the group might even end up making some special trophy images to award for the various contests held in the future. Well, looks like I have to apologize again for taking so long to respond. I've been very busy lately. The day after my last post was my mother's birthday, so I spent that day offline and out celebrating with her. Then I had an appointment IRL to go to yesterday afternoon. Sorry I haven't been keeping you up to date with egg hatchings. anything you have listed in an egg that isn't in my signature is hatched and boxed. Wynauts done breeding, they made enough eggs. won't evolve them, Wynauts are better than Wobbuffets. I'm sure theres enough kept eggs for next badge up. will nosepass and beldum work for a pair if I click each user's egg and only count the beldum ones? I want the last breeding badge too. Doesn't matter either way because I'm going to set up times with Risin for a drop so he gets one and I'm keeping it in until I can evolve it to Metagross or I get a female Ralts, in which case I'll breed them for gardevoir badge and depending on what you think about the above question the third breeding badge and have Beldum/Metang in my party. I know this is a wall of text, sorry I didn't keep you posted, I thought this would be a good time because I'm hyped up on soda.

Ah, okay. Thank you for letting me know. I don't segregate eggs from hatched pokemon in the roster, so no changes have to be made to the roster when eggs hatch, only when pokemon evolve.

Checked up on your Wynaut pairing. They most certainly made enough eggs, and apparently you're not the only one who prefers Wynaut over Wobbuffet. Only one of those hatched offspring has been evolved. Mesprit badge get.

A psychic and non-psychic pairing? Hmm. I've never considered that before. It would probably be very hard to keep track of the psychic-type eggs bred if the breeder doesn't have a Silph Scope.

The pairing you use to obtain the Gardevoir Badge can also be used to obtain any of the other breeding badges, if that's of any help to you.

No worries on the wall o' text. I'm used to making posts that are even more TL;DR, particularly when doing RPing.

In other news- I'm having a family situation right now. My brother and his best friend had to move into my place suddenly because they got kicked out of their apartment. It's the damn economy in the end. They couldn't keep up their rent because they're constantly seeking work because it's so hard to find a job where we live.

(About 15 mins later: Oh geez, that just nearly happened IRL! My brother brought home a container of pickles labeled "hot pickles" and offered me one... I popped a big fat chunk into my mouth before he could tell me they were hot because of mustard oil, which gives the about the same effect as easting wasabi paste straight up. Luckily, he managed to warn me water would make it worse as I was rushing to the sink. A big glass of milk later and I'm all better.)

Hikora- Sure! All the badges count as small images, and according to forum rules, you can have several small images in your signature. As for actually putting the badges in your signature, here a set of instructions on how to that (works best for PCs):

1. Head to the first post on the first page of this thread (the OP).
2. Click the spoiler tag marked "The Mystical Marvels Badge System (What They Look Like, What They're Called, What They're For, How To Get Them)". This contains the images of every badge, along with descriptions of the achievements the represent and what you have to do to earn them.
3. Once you find the badge you're looking for, right click it.
4. Select Properties on the right click drop-down menu. This will open the Element Properties pop-up window.
5. Right click the part of the Element Properties window that says "Location:" on the left side and choose Select All from the drop-down menu. This will highlight the entire image url without having to click on it and drag your cursor.
6. Right click the highlighted text and choose Copy from the drop-down menu. You can now close the Element Properties window.
7. Open your Control Panel in another window or tab (depending on what browser your using, which is easier for you, or even which you simply prefer).
8. From your Control Panel, go to your Edit My Signature page.
9. Select the spot in your text entry window where you want to put the badge and paste in your copied image url using either: the Insert Image button OR BB Code img tags.

It's the "psy" part of the name. And the whole "mysterious powers it can't remember using afterwards" thing. For a nice touch of irony, I've always named the various Psyducks I've caught in my pokemon games after different brands of headache and migraine medicine. There's just something about a Psyduck named Advil that always makes me smile.

Did you mean Hawking would be evolving from Beldum to Metang or Metang to Metagross? I'm assuming the latter, but there is that popular phrase about the word "assume"...

I do see a lot of badges here! The Abra, Wobbuffet, Mew, Mewtwo, and Lugia badges, to be precise.

Another thing I see... adding your pokemon to the roster brings our roster totals to 203! We've broken the 200 mark! I've put an official "bragging and congratulations" notice in the OP thanking everyone here for their hard work and love of psychic-type pokemon. Here's to future milestones passed, everyone!

In other news- Having seen Galahawk's daycare pairing, I've decided democracy in action is needed. So I've put up a poll for the members of Mystical Marvels to vote on concerning whether or not the rules for the Breeder Badges should be altered to allow psychic-Ditto pairings. The poll question itself says it better than how I just said it, but let me break it down to bare bones:

We've already rejected the idea of breeding psychic-type pokemon with pokemon that are non psychic-type and counting only the psychic-type eggs in the tallies because that would be impossible to keep track of without a Silph Scope, and not everyone has a Silph Scope. But do you think members should be able to earn the various badges earned for breeding psychic-type pokemon if they breed their psychic-type pokemon with a Ditto?

Also, I've got and added another poll about something that's been weighing on my mind recently: switching the "What Do You Have To Do To Join?" section of the OP from the current format to a "form" format. (Though the part of the original format stating that you need to post the BB codes of any new eggs you get would stay if the voters decide we switch over to form format.)

I think it makes sense to allow Psychic types with Ditto. After all, Ditto can literally BE any Pokemon.
And I personally liked that I didn't have to use a form to join, it was much simpler.

Oh, and Hawking JUST evolved into Metang, so he won't be a Metagross for some time. |D

I voited yes, because the offspring is still going to be a psychic-type Pokemon, even if one of the parents is a ditto. Dittos are used to breed mostly, and I think they should count.


Do you think we should change the "What Do You Have To Do To Join?" section of the OP into an easier-to-understand "form" format?
The qualifications right now aren't that complicated. All you have to do is link to your profile and post the Pokemon that you own that are Psychic-types. If we did make a form, there would only be like, 2 sections to fill out anyways, so I think keeping it how it is would be fine. Pimpburger- Not sure what level Smoochum evolves into Jynx at, since I don't have one of my own yet, but hopefully it evolves on happiness so you can watch the levels carefully and box it at exactly 17... or should I say "only 17"? XD

I decided to possibly expand on a Twin Peaks reference I put into my Abra's description when I picked up a Whismer egg from the Shelter yesterday. If it hatches into a male Whismer, I'm naming it after one of the characters from the show: Gordon Cole. *giggles*

(For those of you who don't get why this is funny: the character of Gordon Cole from Twin Peaks was almost completely deaf despite the hearing aids he had in each ear, which were cranked up to full volume. As such, he shouted everything he said and everyone else had to shout everything they said to him. Quite ironic for a pokemon known as the Whisper Pokemon, no?)

Fionna- Nice to hear from you! You've certainly earned a lot of badges while you were working on your pokemon collection- the Wobbuffet Badge and all four of the Breeding Badges, in fact!

Also, I found something interesting while double-checking the heritage on your pairings (the new addition of actual numbers next to the sibling and children categories is so helpful, IMO). Not only do I know the person who bred your Gardevoir (we're in an RP together right now), your Gardevoir and my Spiritomb are siblings! Six degrees of separation or what?

Yeah, I understand your desire to move your focus towards all the other pokemon available. I've been doing that myself lately. My latest eggs have been types other than psychic. Though the Eevee egg I got is going to become an Espeon.

Now that I think about it, there are quite a lot of GPX+ groups dedicated to a single species of pokemon and its evolutions. Your love of Spoink and Grumpig certainly isn't a bad thing, and if you wanted to you could start up a group for Spoink and Grumpig.

freestone- In order to join, you have to post the link to your party page and the BB Codes (either image or badge, your choice) of the psychic-type pokemon you have. If you're not sure about which pokemon are psychic types, click the spoiler in the first post titled "Eligible Pokemon/Our Group's Roster" to see which pokemon are accepted into this group.

Loppy- Species doesn't matter, as long as they're psychic-psychic pairings that are in the same breeding group. Let me explain it this way:

You have four psychic-type pokemon from the Indeterminate breeding group and have just earned the Mesprit Badge with Pokemon A and Pokemon B. Now you can either earn the Azelf badge with Pokemon A and Pokemon C, Pokemon B and Pokemon C, or Pokemon C and Pokemon D.

A vacation? If I took a vacation from GTS+, I'd have nothing left to do online...

Geezaloo. Reality just loves to blitzkrieg me sometimes. I use a local ISP, and they had problems with their network on Saturday so I couldn't get on at all then. I just finished making the OP changes.

Stupid question? No.

There's a spoiler in the first post titled "The Mystical Marvels Badge System (What They Look Like, What They're Called, What They're For, How To Get Them)" that contains the badges as well as all the information about them.

We also used to have badge cases for each member of the group containing and displaying each badge that member had earned, but that somehow fell to the wayside. The member who was in charge of that was having persistent computer problems and I haven't been able to get in contact with her since then.

As for how we've been using the badges now, members have been putting them into their signatures.

As for the banner, it's been added into the OP. It's listed that it was made by FueledByPokemon, a.k.a Podz and his banner shop at your request. I was presented with a bit of a conundrum initially concerning the Deoxys Badge because this is our first banner made by someone who is not a member of the group at the request of a member. After looking over the rules for earning the Deoxys Badge and thinking it over for a while, I've decided that you have not yet earned the Deoxys Badge since you yourself did not make the banner. In this specific case, Podz would have earned the Deoxys Badge if he was a member of the group.

However, you shouldn't sweat too much over this decision. The Deoxys Badge is earned for any kind of creative contribution to the group. This means that you can also earn the Deoxys Badge for writing a short story for the group, thinking up an RP scenario for the group, or anything else you can think of for the group that involves your creative talents. The Deoxys Badge is even awarded to members who enter and win contests involving creative output, like the themed writing contest that's currently being held. mehitsme- Okay, then. I can look through my notes, the thread's pages, and your PC boxes to double check everything.

My notes say you have 15 pokemon/eggs entered into the roster. I do remember your Gallade, Gentleman Bove, as being the last or one of the last pokemon you entered into the roster. Having counted up the pokemon in your PC boxes, I counted exactly 18 psychic-type pokemon. Hoothoot was not one of them however, and unfortunately isn't a psychic-type pokemon. But your Espeon, Lady Tyler, hadn't been entered into the roster yet.

Your Espeon, your Bronzor, and your Lunatone have been added into the roster.

Okay, this is a very lengthy post which may make a lot of people go TL;DR. But please try not to, since I have some very important things to say.

Pimpburger- Your Slowpokes and Bronzor have been added to the roster. I also noticed your Beldum has evolved into a Metang! Congratulations! Beldum's evolution has been added into the roster as well.

Our first entry into the contest! Alright! Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Loppy- Your Spoinks have been added to the roster and Paula Polestar has indeed earned you the Azelf Badge.

As for the need for two different psychic-type pairings to earn the Azelf badge: the badges were established back when the group was first formed. You can even see posts about how the whole system came about on the first few pages. I came up with the whole conceptual system, while Lady Entei is the one who created the actual visual badges. Aside from adding some additional disclaimers into the Breeding Badges section and adding in the new rule stating pairings involving Ditto are acceptable, the rules for obtaining each badge have gone unchanged.

When I created the three Breeding Badges which I call the "Breeding Trio" (Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf), I had a system in mind. The system was difficulty levels, with Uxie being the easy level, Mesprit being the medium level, and Azelf being the hard level. But I didn't want it to be a simple "produce X eggs, then produce Y eggs, then produce Z eggs" system, since this was just before the Shelter's 36-hour rule was implemented. So I decided that the third level of difficulty would actually reflect Azelf's virtue of willpower, by having the breeder challenge himself or herself by trying the process all over again with a new pairing. Since not every pairing gets along as well and produces eggs as quickly as every other, and you have to factor in breeding groups, it would take some dedication to earn the Azelf Badge. Realizing that it could also get really frustrating, I decided to lower the egg requirement to ten instead of sticking to the fifteen of the Mesprit Badge. Everything else- all the disclaimer stuff such as "your Mesprit badge pairing count towards the Azelf badge" and "you can use a pokemon from your first pairing in your second pairing"- came as a quick series of further realizations as I was putting the entire badge system down on paper.

I hope that TL;DR history lesson helps.

I'm going to just copy and paste this off the first post: Also, it is important that you use the sign up form found above in your registering post (and please be sure to fill it out completely). If you do not provide it in that post or provide an incomplete sign up form, you will be asked to provide it or complete it before you and your pokemon are accepted into the group.

As for obtaining your Drowzee's badge codes, click on him and you'll see a link on his page under "Owner Options" marked "Get image codes". Click the link and it will take you to a page where the BB code URLs can be found. From there you can copy and paste those codes wherever you need to.

I really do hope you try again using the sign-up form. We would love to have you as a member, and the userbar you made is impressive, IMO.

Important News

First off, I've decided to extend the contest deadline. The new contest deadline is Friday September 25th. Because of my RL schedule, which always keeps me busy on Wednesdays and Thursdays, I couldn't extend the contest to the end of the month (a Wednesday), and I don't want to give you guys too little time to create, submit, and edit your entries. I've also decided that I'm not making any more extensions to the contest's deadline; this will be the only one. And there's a really good reason for that.

I've been thinking over this a lot. It used to be I had a lot of time to devote to the group, but I don't anymore. My situation in real life has and is changing. First there was my regular weekly volunteering, then my brother having to move in with me suddenly, and now I've finally gotten the motivation to achieve one of my biggest life goals, in that I've started working on writing my first novel.

Those of you who've seen my GPX+ page have seen my journal and its explanation of "semi-haitus" status there, how I'm always so busy when I get online. I believe the phrase I used was "17 different things to do on top of the stuff I've already been doing". In my GPX+ journal, I also mentioned that I have no current plans for transferring ownership of this group. That should say had.

I've thought this over long and hard, and have decided that once the creative writing contest has been judged and the winner has been announced, I'm going to trade in my Arceus Badge and step down as leader of the group.

I'm still going to be a member of the group, it's just that I've fallen into the same problem that Lady Entei had: too much on my plate at one time. So I'm going to transfer ownership of the group to one of the members here after the contest ends in late September. I've already picked out a few potential candidates for the new leader of the group and am going to be sending each of them a PM soon asking them if they'd be willing to lead the group in my place. If you are one of the members who received a PM from me about this, please do not post accepting or declining the position here, but keep it to PMs instead. I would really appreciate it if we kept matters on a personal level until all decisions are finalized.
