Spriting Contest of Doom

Well, okay, it's not full of doom. But still.

This 'contest' is actually a series of contests...or something like that. You may drop out at any time after round one, so if you don't have the time to finish or start your entries, you can just let me know and I'll remove you from the list.

However, it would be awesome if you could go through all the rounds, or at least most of them. I'm not going to make the challenges impossible, but that doesn't mean they're going to be the easiest thing ever.

The first round will be the easiest. The last round - either the third or fourth, depending on how many people enter/my mood, will most likely be the hardest and will require at least basic scratching skills.

First place gets two avatar & sig sets with Pokemon of their choice.
Second place gets one avatar & sig set with a Pokemon of their choice.
Third place gets an avatar or sig with a Pokemon of their choice.

I have no idea when I'll end this, but I'm assuming it'll be at least a month before I do.

Round 2: Eggs

See that? Yep. I want you guys to design eggs for three Pokemon.
Please note you CANNOT take tails, wings, ears or anything from the Pokemon. Your designs must fit inside the egg outline & you have to scratch them in yourself. (This is probably easier than scratching things outside bases & it's a little practice too) (You can take markings from the Pokemon, but you need to draw them yourself, or whatever. xD)
Note: I gave you the base so you don't need to go find it & the shading does NOT need to be exactly like that in your finished designs. It was just how the egg I used as the base was shaded (the official egg thing from the games) c:
Also, this is optional, but still - Make an egg description for the Pokemon. Don't copy them from anywhere, though.
The Pokemon
Task one: This will most likely be the easiest.

Task two:
Kyogre.
Task three:
Dialga.

ROUND 1: Recolouring
No, not just changing the colours. This includes editing markings. ^-^

What you need to do
Recolour three Pokemon.
The first one: Make all the colours dull. Like, almost grey, but there still needs to be a bit of colour.
The second one: Edit the markings & colours of your chosen Pokemon to look like an animal. (I suggest using a cat or dog Pokemon for this & go with those animals, but if you want to be a bit different, idc.)
The third one: Colour the whole thing black (with shades), then give it bright green, blue or yellow markings - it doesn't matter what they are, but please don't choose Umbreon as your Pokemon. That kinda kills this part. xD

Okay, I have two of my entries -- I very clearly possess some level of scratch skill xDD

- The first one, my dull treecko. I dulled the shades down to... probably 5 saturation points off being gray (was too lazy to test that). It looks "almost grey" enough for me
- The second, my treecko disguised as an eastern blue-tongue lizard. They have a grayish stomach, and have brown and black stripes from neck to tail. They have a yellowish brown head where the stripes ended, with light blue almost "eyelash" markings along the side of their eyes. They also have a blue tongue.
My referrence picture is in the link posted here.
- I decided to steal inspiration from umbreon, and made markings similar to it in all three colors

Might change entries if I get bored, idk

I'm hoping to at least edit this post with one of the entries today.

- Wow, dull-ifying Pokémon is a depressing task. o.o
I chose Solrock for this entry, because it's usually so nice 'n bright.
- I edited Prinplup's colors to look like a Southern Rockhopper Penguin.
I edited the shape of it's head and tail a tiny bit - is this a problem?
If so, I'll be happy to edit something else.
- I chose to edit Smeargle for this task, I think he was very suitable for this purpose. ^^

Nommer, I plan to start judging this round in a few days, just a warning.

To everyone - I'm not gonna give my opinions on your entries until the judging. That said, it will contain a bit of crit or something, most likely some tips on how to improve stuff & some other info.

You will get things like *number*/10 & a block of text on what I think for every entry. If that's not clear enough: You'll get a *number*/10 for your Dullmon, another for your animalthing & another for your neonmarkings. Though, if you have more than one entry for each task, they'll be counted as one.

When all the rounds are over, the person who has the highest score - I'll add up all your *number*/10s - will, obviously, be 1st place. I'm not gonna explain the rest, it should be obvious.

I'll most likely put the results for each round on my Tumblr & in a post. There's a link to my Tumblr in my sig, but yeah.

Information on entries:
-For my Meloetta, I chose that Pokemon becuase...it's cool I guess? XD yea...I just chose some dull colours that match this Pokemon so it doesn't look weird :/
-For my Tepig, I turned it into a pig since there isn't any other animal I could turn into.
-For my Serperior, I chose that Pokemon 'cause I want to challenge myself and choose a hard Pokemon to 'bright colour' with, and I don't want to use all those easy ones like Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, etc.

That's what I understood from your first post, at least.

So we'll be judged on this round, and then get the tasks for the second round?
Or will the points of all rounds be added together?

Dull colours - This was the hardest one for me. I redid Moltres about 4-6 times.. But in the end, I was satisfied with the result. =D
Animal - Well.. I really hope you could already see that just from looking, but.. I turned a Girafarig into a giraffe. Obvious, huh? Notice how I've made its neck longer. This one was really funny to do! I'm definitely going to turn more Pokémon into "average" animals in the future.
Bright markings - I scrolled down my Pokémon sprite list, and thought: "Man, wouldn't Krookodile look really good all black, and, and, and then with bright green markings? Yeah! I'll remove its stomach markings too!".

Hope you enjoy it. I had fun.

((Edit: Ah.. By the way, sorry about the white markings on them. I told one of my friend's to make their backgrounds transparent, since I don't have Photoshop.. Oh well, it was nice of her. And she'll get better at it in the future! =D ... Again, sorry..))

#1. Chose bayleaf because it seems way too happy. XD
#2. I made Drowsee into a warthog. I added a textured look and colored his eyes brown. I added some tusks, too.
#3. Suicune. I tried all 3 colors and felt blue fit the best.

Cant wait until round two. These are always so much fun and help me to push my talent further.
