Partially because everyone thinks he's so much better than dragonite. RAWR D: < But in my opinion, Dragonite owns Salamence. I even have a picture to prove it, even though it's on my laptop. Salamance, I would say, is better. I have a steel-fire salamance in cards. Flygon are pretty cool, though.

Although I like both, I like Flygon the best. That's why I'm not going Bagon hunting in my Emerald xD

Salamence. Looks more dragon like to me and I like dragons. Flygon looks like a mix between a dragon and a dragonfly. XD

Salamance all the way. When i first discovered that pokemon, i was all over that dragon. Flygon is cool, and i love his goggle type eye covers, but salamance is still better in my eyes

I like Flygon way more. Up until fifth gen he has always been my favorite dragon, especially since he's based off an ant-lion instead of just some stereotypical dragon.

I got to say, Salamence and Flygon have same speed according to Bulbapedia.org, and i like Flygon despite his weaker physical and special attack stats because he has STAB on earthquake, levitate, and access to u-turn, making him a powerful asset when used properly. And plus i hate overused, and i would rather have Garchomp or Dragonite over Salamence, and definitely Flygon over Salamence, because i prefer finesse over brute strength.

I certainly have to go with Salamence.
Unlike Flygon, it's a pseudo-legendary. Also, as others claim that it's a brute-force Pokémon, that's the best part about Salamence. Salamence is also Über-awesome. Because of this Smogon had to contain its awesomeness by throwing it in the Über section, putting the Über in its Über-awesomeness.
