"Damn it's hot." The speaker grimaced, shading her eyes to look up at the sky. It was beautiful really, a deep blue without a cloud to mark it, with the sun high up. Of course, since it was getting towards the end of summer, it was still scorching out, and the trainer currently walking down the route from Petropelis was definitely feeling the heat. Just because she had grown up in the south didn't mean she liked being cooked from the inside-out, after all.

"Char?" The trainer looked down (though she didn't have to look very far, curse her shortness!) at her companion, shooting the Charmander a grin.

"Sorry Hikaru, I didn't mean you. Though, no offense, the further you keep your tail away, the better." The pokemon laughed at that, giving said tail a good flick. They were too close and had been together too long for him to be offended by what she said.

Dairine finally groaned, wiping some sweat off her brow and wincing as she felt the beginning of a forming sunburn. "Mental note... pick up some sunscreen in the next down." She muttered, then sighed. "Come on, Hikaru. It's too hot to travel right now, we might as well wait out the hottest part of the day.

One side of the route was bordered by fields, with farmers and their pokemon out tending crops, bringing in the summer's harvest, that sort of thing. The other side was bordered by forest, and it was towards the trees that the red-head and her pokemon turned. Trees meant shade, which would mean some relief from the searing heat of the day.

"I am never going to take air-conditioning for granted again." She sighed, even as they stepped into the shade. Unshouldering her battered back-pack (which she had picked up second-hand at a discount store), she let it drop to the ground before digging in her pocket, pulling out a pokeball and releasing it's occupant.

"Toto!" Maelstrom yawned, showing off his rather nasty set of teeth, before grinning up at his trainer.

"We're taking a break, so do whatever you want, just don't wander too far or get into trouble." She said, plopping down onto the ground under a particuarly large oak tree.

It wasn't long until the trio were settling in for a mid-day nap... one which they probably weren't going to get, since as soon as Dairine closed her eyes, she yelped as an acorn smacked against the top of her head. Glaring up at the tree, she frowned at the particuarly mischievous looking Spearow glaring back at her. Suddenly, the small bird pokemon lobbed another acorn at her head, making her yelp again as it connected. Cawing in laughter, the Spearow turned and leapt into the air, flying off.

"Hey! Get back here!" Dairine shouted, grabbing her pack and leaping to her feet, racing after the laughing bird-type. Hikaru and Maelstrom gave dismayed cries as they ended up on the ground. Looking at each other, both with looks of 'What just happened?', it took them a moment to realize that their trainer was currently running INTO the forest. Suddenly, the Charmander and the Totodile were running after her, Hikaru moving to all fours in order to be able to go faster.

A quiet mid-day nap indeed!

(Off-Topic.. I'm new too RPing, and well, uhm, yeah. Mind if I join? Ruki is Haruka also known as me and Kasai is my Cyndaquil)

"Okay Kasai, let's try this one more time." Ruki encouraged her hot-headed Cyndaquil. Training for contests was something Kasai and Ruki did everyday, improving each part a little bit more every time they did it. "Scene 25!" Kasai let out a haze of smoke that seemed to be forming into a diamond-like shape. "Okay, here goes. Come on, Kasai! Let's show everyone what fire and smoke can do!" Kasai looked at Ruki a-matter-a-factly, but before he could perform his next move a mischievous Spearow flew by, seeming to find something very funny. Ruki and Kasai looked at each other in question -Kasai seeming a little miffed that he didn't get to finish his Scene 25- when all of a sudden a person came bursting through the bushes, followed by two pokemon...

"Ack!" Dairine tripped, falling to her hands and knees (stupid roots, sticking up all over the place and tripping people, ought to not be allowed). She was just moving to stand when Hikaru and Maelstrom, unable to stop in time, ended up slamming into their trainer, sending her flat to the ground with her two dazed pokemon sitting on her back.

She was quiet for a time, before finally she spoke, her voice muffled by the ground. "... It's official. I hate Spearows." Finally, she turned her head, glaring at her two pokemon. "You can move, you know."

The pair squeaked, scrambling off of their trainer's back and helping her up. From the rapid-fire pokemon they were speaking at her, it wouldn't be a far leap to assume that they were apologizing.

Sighing, the dimunitive redhead proceeded to brush herself off before glancing up and paling slightly at seeing that they had an audience. Great, someone had SEEN all of that? She'd never live it down. Still, she plastered what she hoped was a friendly expression on her face (it ended up very strained) before speaking. "Uh... Hi?"

(Mind If I join in? I have actually Roleplayed for quite a long time, but I have just started Roleplaying on here.)

"Come on Inferno!" Eric yelled to his flaming lizard friend. "I want to see the fury in your eyes!" Eric, and his Charmander Inferno, loved to train. Eric was a little bit bossy when he was training for some important reason, but Inferno did not mind. "Quake, defend yourself!" The little Nidoran hears his orders, and begins to block. While watching the fight, Eric looks over, and spots a couple of girls talking. "Guys, Relax. Time for a break." The two pokemon stop and start to follow Eric. Eric reaches the girls, and starts talking. "Hello girls, What's up?" Inferno notices the smile on Eric's face, and launches an Ember at him. This manages to connect, catching his arm on fire. Eric then begins running around yelling "Put it out! put it out!!"

Ruki manages to hide the laugh she knows wants to break free. She just looks strangely at the girl, and realizes the spearow had been the thing she was running after. "uh... Hi?" Ruki hears her say, it's a muffled sound, and if you weren't paying attention might have thought she had told you to 'go die'.
Kasai glanced at Ruki as a way to ask what do we do now..?. Shrugging her shoulders and forcing a smile, - She wasn't good with people, not good with people at all - "Hello!" she announces a bit too loudly. Lowering her voice, she says "So... Uhm, that Spea-"
She was cut off by a boy screaming something from across some ways. All of a sudden he starts running around screaming, and Kasai begins what seems like laughing.
"Uhh... You need some help?" Ruki manages to say without laughing. Taking the screaming to 'put it out!' as a yes, she reaches into her bag and releases Kaze from her Pokeball.
"Okay, Kaze, Use Sand-attack on that boy!" Kaze seems a bit confused, but obeys her trainer, creating a giant mess of sand. Ruki sometimes acts without thinking of the repercussions. In this case, a face full of sand...

[Zorloc]

"Ouch!" Eric gets up covered in sand, with a slightly burnt Jacket. "Seriously, Sand Attack?!" Eric Sits down Beside of his pokemon, and notices the second girl. "Err... Hello there..." Eric says in a rather low voice. Quake, and Inferno are laying on the ground beside him, Laughing Hysterically. "Be quiet guys!" he tells them with a laugh from watching them. "So, What are your names? I am Eric." Inferno and Quake walk in front of him and sorta show off. "Also, This is Inferno, and Quake."

((Excuse me, Zorloc? When posting in a roleplay, it's generally considered polite to wait for both people to reply to your post before posting again.))

Dairine face-palmed from where she sat, then proceeded to glance over at her two pokemon and murmur "This doesn't seem to be anyone's day, does it?" Hikaru simply nodded, while Maelstrom snerked, thumping his thick, powerful little tail against the ground in amusement.

Sighing, the young woman (though she looked more like an even younger boy, if one were to go by her figure or lack thereof) looked up at the other two trainers... all of them starting out, it seems. "The name's Dairine Kazuko, and these are my pokemon, Hikaru..." She pointed at the Charmander, "And Maelstrom." This time the Totodile. And now to attempt to turn the conversation away from her and any alleged Spearow chases. "Did your Charmander really just set you on fire?"

Maelstrom quickly became bored, lowering his head to scritch at an itchy spot with one hind foot (which ended up making him look rather silly), but Hikaru was somewhat interested in the other two trainers. Mainly, their pokemon. He hadn't gotten to meet a lot of fire-type pokemon in Petropolis (mainly because people didn't keep them because they didn't want to burn their house down), and one of the other fire types was even a Charmander like himself.

"Yes, Yes it did... Well I am pretty sure that is where these burn marks came from..." Eric Responds in a Sarcastic voice. "Sorry if that was rude." Eric says rubbing the back of his neck. "Just trying to make the conversation fun." Eric stops and thinks for a second then continues "What about you miss? What is you name?" Eric asks the girl that had covered him with sand.

Inferno had started to notice the fact that another Charmander was giving him a strange look. He tries to ignore it so he can look at all of the other pokemon. He sees a Pidgey, a Cyndaquil, his friend quake, a Totodile, and the other Charmander. Out of curiosity, inferno walks over to the other Charmander, and tries to befriend it.

Ruki glared at Kaze. "Maybe a little much on the sand-attack," she mumbles. Kaze shys away, not liking to get in trouble. Trying to shake off all the sand, Ruki realizes she was being talked to, "Oh, uhm, I'm Haruka Kimori, or Ruki for short, and these are my pokemon, Kasai," She scratched the Cyndaquils head, "and Kaze," She said with a sigh and pointed to the Pidgey, who was now up in the air. "Uhm, I'm sorry about the sand.... It was stupid of m-" She cut herself off, not wanting to sound like she was rambling on. "So, anyways, what brings you all to the forest?" Ruki asks out of curiosity.

Kasai was seeming a bit anxious. He had never really been close to two other fire pokemon, especially two of the same species, and he felt out of place. He hid behind Rukis leg, peeking out every few seconds to see what had happened. Kaze, on the other hand, seemed very interested in these other pokemon. She flew over to where the Totodile was and stopped right in front of it's face.
