Okay, so I'm sure everyone's sick of these, but please, I need to know if there are any major weaknesses I am overlooking. I just beat Byron, and I am about to challenge Candice. Okay, here it is.
Infernape Lv. 40 Cut Close Combat Flame Wheel Rock Smash Leafeon Lv. 40 Magical Leaf Secret Power Synthesis Grass Knot Tentacruel Lv. 41 Wrap Poison Jab Toxic Spikes Surf Luxray Lv. 41 Strength Bite Charge Spark Bastiodon Lv. 40 Earthquake Flash Cannon Take Down AncientPower Altaria Lv. 40 Sing Take Down Fly Dragonbreath The moves are definitely subject to change later, but at this point and time in the game, is this a fairly good team? EDIT: Moved on in game, fixed movesets/evolutions and whatnot. -------------------- im ebarrassed by this years-old signature (click to show ) |

This is an old post and you're probably farther now, but whatever
Overall, I think it's not bad for an in-game team- balanced, and everything- but you do have a weakness. Ground. Don't completely depend on Leafeon to handle every Ground-type you face.. Gliscor or Mamoswine might give you a hard time. If you don't want to change anything, just make sure you're ready for Bertha (and Cynthia's Garchomp). Maintain Leafeon's Sp. Attack and Tentacruel's Speed, teach Ice Beam to someone, and you might be able to handle the weakness effectively. -------------------- |

Ooh... I didn't notice ground. I'll probably die on Bertha when I get there... And yes, I did move on in the game, to the point where I'm at Sunyshore gym. But that is very helpful information, thank you for pointing that out!
EDIT: Okay, I'm ready to teach Ice Beam, but Do you think I should teach it to Altaria, Bastiodon, or Tentacruel? This post has been edited by Sir Spam: Jan 7 2011, 11:07 PM -------------------- im ebarrassed by this years-old signature (click to show ) |

I'd go with Altaria, because it's immune to Ground-type attacks and doesn't already have a super-effective move yet anyway.

Okay, I think I'll get rid of Take Down for that. Thanks!

Oh, now I have the predicament of Waterfall. What should I replace on Tentacruel: Toxic Spikes or Poison Jab?

Just reminding you that Cynthia, Bertha, Flint, Lucian, Aaron have 2, 5, 1, 1, 2 Pokemon (respectively) that have resistance to poison, so keep that in mind.

Hmm. Poison Spikes is really useful, but I tend to focus on attack moves for in-game teams.. However, Painted Fox has a point, and Poison Jab is only super-effective against Grass types, which you'd probably be using Altaria and Infernape against anyway, so.... I'd say yes, you should forget Poison Jab for Waterfall (aren't HMs annoying?).

I wish all this new-fangled HMS weren't all so very... required.

Exactly. We can use one-time-use Escape Ropes in the place of Dig, so why can't we buy single-use flashlights, inner tubes, plane tickets... climbing gear... xD
