... Am I missing something? Shiny Eevee and normal Eevee in the 5th gen are the normal colors.

I've noticed that the Gen V sprite for Ninetales is a different shade of yellow for one thing...

Guys all he's talking about is misleading sprites which we think are shiny but they aren't 
Personally I hate all the gen 2 sprites. The regular colours there are the shiny colours in the other games - for example Spinarak.
I hate Spinarak like that. It's all OMG SHINY SPI- oh it's normal =_=

^ And Igglybuff. I dunno which gen exactly but one of them has the shiny sprite as normal and the normal sprite as shiny.

It's the emerald sprite on site. I hatched one and was all KFDGKJWYFG>KR SHINY IGGLYBUFF Y U NOT SHINY U HAVE SHINY SPRITE.

Hippowdon. The first time I ran into a female Hippowdon, I thought it was shiny, because it was a different color from the male version!

Spinarak does this to me. It's silver sprite is very purple. Onix did it to me a lot too, one of its older sprites is kinda greenish.

Eevee was doing this to me for a while, so much that when I did get my shiny it hatched with an older sprite and I couldn't even tell it was shiny until I got the "congrats on completing your shiny hunt" popup...

The Emerald Diglett sprite. Change a normal Diglett and a Shiny Diglett into that sprite and see if you can tell the difference. ;P

Surprised no one has mentioned this one - Dratini's FireRed/LeafGreen sprite.
It's a purple Dratini, that fools me every time.

This. When I hunted that I got a little too excited when that hatched until I remembered that Gen I shinies on here were grayscale.

None, because I look at the description saying what hatched from the egg before looking at what actually hatched.
