How exactly does repel work in the lab? Several times I bought repels. Used them once and then go to lab. The eggs are always ones I've gotten before, not new ones. Also, the message after I use the item is blank.

Repel basically means repelling eggs you've already obtained from appearing in the Lab. If nothing shows up, means there currently isn't an egg you've not already obtained in the lab.
I think you should use repel in the Lab instead of using then going to the Lab? Yeah, you're supposed to use the Repel *on* the Lab page itself; it appears as a clickable object right below the Welcome to the Lab message (above the eggs). It also only works for one set of eggs; if you reload, you'll need to use another Repel.

Oh, I've been using it wrong then. Didn't know about the icon appearing in lab
