Simply Adorable

Hello...
I was just wondering...
Is there a specific way to get shiny pokemon?
Or do you just get them randomly from hatching eggs?
Is there a way to increase your chance of getting shiny pokemon?
In a shiny hunt, typically how many eggs do people have to hatch to get a shiny pokemon?

They are obtain randomly through hatching eggs.
There's no way to increase the chances of hatching one although some eggs given out in the egg distributions each month are guaranteed shiny.
Shiny hunts can be completed in 1 egg or up to 1,000+, it's all based on luck.

To answer that last question with a little more specificity, many veteran players have observed that when you average out a large number of shiny hunts, the average of them tends to be in the neighborhood of ~250-300 eggs per hunt. Of course, this is no guarantee that you'll get the egg in that time — I've had hunts as quick as 1 egg or as long as 1500 eggs, and I'm pretty sure I've seen someone else with a 3000-egg hunt once.
