I haven't necessarily had any, unless you count stupid chain breaks.
Though, my brother, on the other hand, found a Shiny Gyarados in his LeafGreen. He didn't have any PokeBalls, so he was forced to flee. He also found a Shiny Exeggcute, but it fled. And my brother's friend found a Shiny Dragonair in the Safari Zone, and that fled too.

 I was 'bout to catch a Zapdos... the game froze up and forced me to turn it off (It was a begaining that I got to that far..  I didnt have a chance to save.)

I was in Tenerife, and I was catching Articuno in platinum with my level 60 Gengar. Finally caught it and carried on searching for the other 2 roaming legendaries - Zapdos shows up and I knock it out - so I go through my routine of turning it off and trying again - but ooooooooooops I forgot to save didn't I. Bye bye Articuno.
So after that I got so fed up I used my masterball on it! --------------------  paparazzi ⪼ cursola |

my only shiny, a snorunt, in platinum, in the battle castle! I didn't know that the shiny script ran for trainer pokemon. I cried.

Two words. Runners. Wait, that was one word? Oh, you know. Every time I catch up to one... Flee. Seriously! Even when I use tricks like mean look, they always run! I swear I'm lobbing a master ball at the next legendary, because they can be harsh.
Like the Giratina. I wanted to go catch it in origin forme. Well, you can put it to sleep, you can hit it down to 1 HP, but no luxury ball, ultra ball, or timer ball will catch it.
