First Blaine: they are dueling over a volcano where it is said (indirectly mind you) that except for the toughest of fire types (and rhydon apparently) anything that falls in the lava is dead. This includes humans. So if an attack went astray and hit a human (it has happened) and the human fell in...you get the point. What is your opinion.

Next sabrina: If you lose I will turn you into a doll, play with you, and flatten you with a bowling ball.

Next Lt. Surge: I will hospitalize your pokemon (worse than usual if you look)

Next Giovanni: let me test my pokemon on you (if you recall he knocked everyone out (humans included) and left them there)

Finally Koga: If you are not careful you will fall in a river and die (remember what happened).

I know what you mean... that could be dangerous. I wonder if the Semi-International Pokémon League Association knows about it...

He should install some kind of safety harness to prevent that from happening.

Forget the lava for a sec. If standing in the intense heat doesn't kill you, then surely the gasses could.

In the Pokémon world, laws seem to be very loose. You can actually just walk into someone else's house at random, for example. xD

not crazy enough to where lava doesn't kill people. At one point Ash was under the impression charizard was dead. Also use parasect there and see what would happen.

I doubt it was fake for two reasons. One a "firefighter could never win". They could win with fake lava. And two he was worried that the volcano was erupting, why would he be worried if it was fake?

That's a good point! XD I never thought of that. I think the laws in the Pokemon world are really different. Heck, Pewter and Cerulean seem to be the safest gyms, but you can even drown in the Cerulean gym! Oh, wow... Didn't a later gym have floors made of ice? Talk about inviting lawsuits over slip-and-fall accidents!

sadly its not as cruel as you say it is. They are typically companions and it is natural to battle with them, and the pokemon seem to be happy with their fate.

Speaking of Viridian City, is Mewtwo even legal to use in a battle, considering he's an artificially created Pokémon? Does that mean you could throw androids or robots (similar to Magnemite or the Regis) in there, too? This is all pretty puzzling.

And yeah, I agree; the idea of capturing and battling animals is pretty horrible at the most basic level, but the Pokémon themselves, I think, all have the instinct to fight, or it wouldn't be such a mainstream thing. Only rarely do they actually get hurt, instead giving up when they're exhausted. The first movie does a weird job introducing the differences between full-out fighting and trainer battles, so maybe with trainers, it's a way of teaching them their limits instead of actually killing each other.

Battling over a Volcano is a bit intense. XD You'd think someone would've pointed it out and said how dangerous it was.

And it may be possible that nobody knew well enough on what happened to you in Sabrina's Gym. Thankfully when Ash battled her and won in the end, she was better so I don't think anybody had to face being turned into a doll afterwords or shrink down into doll size and run around in a plastic town.
