BLOUTH FALLS

THE STORY SO FAR
The violent waterfalls stirred up a heavy mist that rolled into the valley, greatly lowering visibility. Deep in the mountains of western Johto, this place is secret to the majority of people. Very few people are told to go here; they can only be recommended by the other Frontier Brains of Johto. Only the most skilled trainers go in.

Many come out a changed person.
If they come out at all.

Dietrich Kaiser is the Frontier Brain of Blouth Falls. He specialises in Ghost- and Dark-Types. If one manages to make it past all the “trainers” that wish to battle the skilled trainer, then they will be up against him.

He has not lost a single fight.
He is blind.

Blouth is foreign for blood. Dietrich, the first settler, was struck by the sound of the crashing water spilling over the craggy mountain ridges and the peaceful silence. He proposed the name, and it evidently became it. Fresh water from unconsolidated river aquifers and a variety of small game from the surrounding forests sustained the settlers through many hard winters. There are few wooden buildings in Blouth Falls, as the humidity and soil composition tended to grow sickly trees yielding brittle wood, which compromised those early structures.

Masked by the waterfall, the lair in which Dietrich and his assistant, Frida Mazzella, reside in is quite hard to come by. The trainers are given nothing but a map and a flashlight. Even though it’s up on the mountains, the passageway to get to the waterfall is dauntingly quiet and dark.

Very few get past the first level.
In all, there are thirteen levels, and then the waterfall at the very top.

TL;DR
You have received a special card after hard work and defeating all the Frontier Brains of Johto. This card entitles you to one pass to get into Blouth Falls, an unknown place that is said to prove your full potential.

The Brain, Dietrich Kaiser, is blind and specialises in Ghost and Dark Pokémon. He has an assistant named Frida Mazzella.

Name: Evon LaRousse
Age: 21
Gender: Male

Appearance: Extremely short for his age, Evon stands at 152.4 cm and weighs very little. His skin is fair and prone to burning rather than tanning; his eyes are light red and his hair is naturally dark blue, although he dyes the underside black. Evon keeps his hair short, with his bangs hanging an inch above his shoulders. Both his ears are pierced with small black rings near the top.

Evon's primary outfit is simple and easy to move around in. He wears tight black pants over red shoes, held up by a thin red belt. His vest is likewise black with red lines making a strange pattern on the fabric. Evon's arms are bare until his elbows; his forearms are covered in thin black arm warmers. The only contradiction to Evon's streamlined appearance is the long red scarf he wears, completely obscuring his neck.



Personality: At first glance Evon is nothing more than a somewhat-hyper Pokemon Trainer that spaces out a lot - and this is exactly what he wants others to think. In actuality he is extremely clever with a penchant for sarcasm and rudeness, refusing to make friends or even team up with others. Evon's opinion on Pokemon is a little extreme - he considers them more complex and understanding than humans, insisting that his team are the only friends he'll ever need. Due to this Evon is aphephobic, reacting nearly violently when touched by another person.

In battle Evon becomes focused and intense, almost seeming to fight with his Pokemon. However, he does know his limits and will call the match if he knows his Pokemon can't finish the battle without sustaining major injuries.

Strangely, Evon has an addiction of sorts to sour gummi apples and always keeps a large bag on him.

History: From the start, Evon was an outsider. In the orphanage he grew up in he was marked as strange by the other children, preferring to spend time with his Eevee over them. As he grew older, his views began to conflict with the others, eventually cumulating in a fight with another young boy. Deemed a troubled child, Evon was sent from the orphanage in Goldenrod to a rehabilitation centre in Mahogany Town, where he spent most of his teenage years.

Watching trainers pass by to get to the Gym from his window, Evon began to take an interest in Pokemon battles. He saw them as a way to truly be a part of his Pokemon's lives, even developing the idea that he was fighting with them in spirit. As soon as he turned 18 he left the centre and Mahogany to travel Johto, battling other Trainers and wild Pokemon as he assembled a team of his closest 'friends', his now-evolved Flareon always by his side. After failing to beat the Champion Evon entered competition after competition, eventually winning a tournament that offered a special hidden prize. The prize in question was a pass to Blouth Falls - determined to prove the strength of his Pokemon and the bond they shared, he made his way to the Falls to take the challenge.
