There are many movies, tv shows, and bands out there that are underrated but you rarely hear about underrated games. When you read a review about a band, tv show, or movie there are always major variances in peoples opinions and usually the most outspoken reviewers' opinions do not give an accurate statement on how good something may actually be so you may never even hear about it. Video games are a different story though... you either have a game that is amazing or a game that is horrible. You will on rare occasions encounter a game made by a famous company or an independent developer that seems to go under the radar due to lack of reviews or advertising.
Post any games that you believe were greatly underrated My favorites are... Dark Cloud 1&2 Psyconauts -------------------- |

Hmm... there's Okami (though it's been getting LOTS of love in recent years), Terranigma, Live a Live, Treasure of the Rudras, Bahamut Lagoon, Final Fantasy V, Zelda II, the entire Megami Tensei series, Disgaea, Rez, and the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles games... yeah.
Special mentions go to Rez and Terranigma. -------------------- sprite credits: 1 |

Portal Runner for PS2. It was easy, but the segments where you played as your pet lion were fun (back when I played it when I was 9 at least)
I dont see many people talk about Fur Fighters either. I have the PS2 version and I love it This post has been edited by BarkAtTheMoon: Oct 21 2010, 08:40 AM |

The .hack (dot-hack) series. I never hear anything about it. Ever. I don't even know where my dad got the disks from...

The .hack (dot-hack) series. I never hear anything about it. Ever. I don't even know where my dad got the disks from... I love that series... but it to has reached the point where it has an over-blown price so its hard to get a hold of it. -------------------- |

The X-Files Game. It was on PC and PS1, I've got both versions. PC was the original, and has much better graphics. It got a LOT of hate because you weren't playing as Mulder or Scully, but that's one of the reasons I loved it so much. It took me fourteen years to find the good ending, though. lol So worth it.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but... Sonic CD and Knuckles' Chaotix. They were both on the two worst systems ever made, but they stood out as being the only half-decent games on either of them. And Knuckles' Chaotix had Espio and Mighty in it~
Also: Vagrant Story, the little-known Ivalice game. -------------------- sprite credits: 1 |

Psychonauts :P It DOES have a decent, living fanbase, but you hear dauntingly little of it outside said fanbase :P

Lord of the Rings Conquest for PS3. Ever since EA took the online servers down, it's dissapeared.

The Golden Sun Series.
Possibly one of the most underrated RPG's. It's going to be active after the 3rd games release in America. -------------------- |

Jump Raven.
It's a really old sci-fi point-and-click game that I used to play all the time with my siblings when I was much younger. My family still has our copies of it and I install it all over again every time I upgrade my OS. It had some great characters and music and was a funny look at a dystopian future. Nobody seems to know it. |
